Erm this show is really draggy. Could have been 20+ episodes instead of 38. The story is ok, sometimes a bit unrealistic. The acting is great. I feel that the only part I like about this show is the romance but it's only about 20 episodes of romance of the lead over 38 episodes. Too draggy. Will not consider rewatching. I was hoping this drama would be good as Xing fei was acting in it. However, I feel that this drama could have a better story flow.

Paradise in disguise..!(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ Lots of wisdom along with entertainment.

♡Oh my my! I loved it!! I loved it so much that I was actually searching for a way on how to rate this drama and I'm here.. This is the first Chinese drama I've seen and oh wow I totally loved it.!! The actors are so cute, bubbly, friendly and comfortable working with each other.♡

♡Values: For me what adds the most value to it is that I saw this drama when everyone is in lockdown due to Covid-19 Pandemic and everyone in this world are going through upsetting stuff on daily basis so, this drama brought a new hope in me with so many advice the characters give each other when they are struck in life or struggling with the hardships they face.

♡Storyline: The story is beautifully intertwined with lots of wisdom, fun, realistic emotions, romance, feelings of warmth and cute gestures that makes me pour my heart out for this drama.

♡Actors: The actors are so cute, bubbly, friendly and comfortable working with each other. The actors are not only attractive but also are really skilled at performing variety of roles in different situations given to them. Hats off to the whole cast and team members, I would love to meet them and see all of them working together again..especially Jin Ze (Tonghao/Shan Jun Hao) and Xing Fei (Ye Qian Yu) as a lead couple again. The actors whom I adore and loved the most are (Fair Xing) Xing Fei, Jin Ze (Garvey Jin), Wen Zhou (Cavan), and Jurat. Oh!, and Jurat has an amazing voice when he sings..(♡‿♡)

♡Music: The songs and music are really addictive. Trust me I downloaded all the songs and I have them on repeat in my playlist. I actually started learning Chinese because I loved this drama and songs of it. The subtitles of lyrics in English felt really connecting and beautiful and I hope once I learn chinese it would feel really heartfelt to watch it again and hear & sing them.

♡Impact on my life: I actually started learning Chinese because I loved this drama and songs of it. I gained many worth keeping lessons from this drama to apply in real life.

♡Behind The Scenes: Watching behind the scenes after completing series was like "I'm missing you (drama) and I want more of you (episodes)" for me. They are so funny, cute, have great chemistry, really shows how hard they work and a bit of secret spilling. ಠ‿↼

♡Highlights: Ofcourse I watched it after completing the full drama as I got emotionally attached to it..else I would've seen the rich and valuable moments already. Damn! No spoilers hehe..

♡Fact: I've also restarted to rewatch it the second time and I love love love it!

♡Conclusion: Definitely worth watching. It won't just give you entertainment but a lot of wisdom that will help you fight the hardships you'll face in your life. So it's 10/10 definitely a big Yes from me!! Go go go!! Watch it, hurry!!

♡Where I watched it?: I watched it on WeTv App which is available both on Google play store and Apple App Store as it uses less data and the quality is good & subtitles are original. Subtitles are available for many languages and you can download episodes to watch offline.

♡My Expectations: I hope you make sure to watch all episodes and keep watching it untill you remember all it's dialogues word by word by heart, haha!
Thank you for reading. #Lovelove♡ (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

As the drama goes further, it became boring already. Its already not realistic. I mean, how can a woman like Ye Qianyu fall inlove in just a short period of time, and with the fact that she barely knew Tonghao who lost his memory. Also, how can Shan Junhao betray his long time lover over a woman whom he only knew for a few months. I’ll admit that its not impossible to be in this situation but man! I really felt pity for Taichu! How can she not see Taichu’s love for her? Why would she stick to a man whose family and love life is complicated? God!

Here comes another long review. Sorry guys hahah. Also clearly lots of comparison to the original TW drama.

If anyone wasn't sure, this drama is a remake of the original Taiwanese drama "Prince Turns to Frog," which is definitely a classic drama that I highly recommend. There was also a remake in 2009 (I think?) with Tiffany Tang and Roy Chiu. I'm honestly kind of a fan of Xing Fei. I think she's super cute and adorable. Definitely more on the "Idol Actor" side, but I think she is actually pretty good in these types of roles.

Also as a side note, I love PTTF, but couldn't stomach the Tiffany Tang and Roy Chiu remake. I watched maybe 3 episodes and gave up (and I usually like Tiffany Tang as an actress, but something about that drama was meh.)

STORY:
The story has clearly been done before. (1 Taiwanese, 2 mainland China, and also a Korean version - idk if there was a Japanese version). They definitely made some changes to this story for the remake.

*******SPOILERS******
*******SPOILERS******

STORY CHANGES

Xu Ze Qian - Specifically splitting the story of the SML (Xu Ze Qian) and actually breaking him up into two characters - XZQ and Tai Chu. Originally, the relationship with Tai Chu and Ye Qian Yu was actually between YQY and XZQ (though not as developed because he was still in love with the SFL). I think that this had some good and bad change to it.
Good - You could tell that TC actually really liked YQY, which created a legitimate love triangle.
Bad - It made XZQ a bit -too- crazy about Fan Yun Yi. His whole story arc and character was built around her one person, whereas in the original, he had a few moments of being able to break away from that. Idk.

Shan Jun Hao's father - This was probably the biggest change that I think affected the story. In the original, SJH's father actually WAS the reason why XZQ's family was broken. So it was completely legitimate for XZQ to hold this huge grudge against the Shan family. In this version, they change it to where it was all manipulated by some former board of directors at Senwell. Personally, I think this change pushed the story into ridiculous Idol Drama world. This was a crucial story line for the original drama that really gave it some depth and some challenge, but here, they turned it into a "the ML's family was actually perfectly good in every way." It just felt like a cop-out to me.

Fan Yun Yi - In the original, she actually has a lot more dramatic things happen to her. Her skin is damaged from a broken glass window; she and SJH actually get married and then she goes a little crazy when she learns that she offered to get a divorce, etc. In this version, they definitely made it much more tame. She falls down some stairs, hits her head, and goes blind for a while, but obviously heals. It just makes the character arc less 3-D. But overall, FYY was a more reasonable character than the original version.

MINOR CHANGES (didn't affect the story as a whole, but things that I think could have been included)

The Piano- in the original drama, the two leads go to this small house that has a piano and a pool in the backyard. These two things I think really helped develop the relationship between the two leads. In PTTF, YQY actually really tried to learn how to play the piano (to honor her deceased mother) and there was more focus on this part of the story, with SJH helping her to learn how to play and them bonding over this. In this version, SJH does help her buy her mother's old piano, but other than that, this storyline just kind of ends.

The Pool - One of the times when YQY really tests SJH's love for her is when she purposely falls into the pool and waits for SJH to save her. This caused a really heart-wrenching moment because he doesn't go to save her. Just another small moment that I think really developed their relationship. In this version, SJH wasn't as cold-hearted in his actions, but more in words. So eh.

CHARACTERS:

Xing Fei's Ye Qian Yu - I think personally that I somewhat liked this version better. YQY actually wasn't as annoying as Chen Qiao En's version was in the beginning. Yes she cared about money, but she actually never did anything too over the top because of it. I think Xing Fei also just shines at these bubbly, cute type of characters. I haven't seen her do much outside of this range, but she's still a new actress.

Jin Ze's Shan Jun Hao - I think honestly SJH was the shining point for me. Not only is the actor very tall and attractive haha, but his acting was actually pretty decent. His acting as SJH and as Tong Hao really showed a versatile performance from him. He was able to really show off the cold-blooded CEO role as well as the naive, bubbly Tong Hao. Hopefully there's more coming from this actor as he's super new as well.

Others - Tai Chu I think was a big fan favorite. He was an all around good guy, rich, beautiful, and really cared for YQY even after he knew he didn't have a shot with her. But in the same thing, there was -nothing- wrong with him, which I think made the story too easy.

None of the other characters -super- stood out for me, personally.

FINAL THOUGHTS - I think it's hard to compete with a classic that has kept its place in so many people's hearts (looking at you Meteor Garden). This version wasn't bad, but it definitely doesn't have the same staying power as the original in my opinion. I think this was a decent remake, but it took the "idol drama" idea and went into overdrive. Everything was just too easy. The characters shined in one aspect, but didn't have enough dimension for me. I've rewatched the original TW version a handful of times just because of how nostalgic it felt and the chemistry between the leads. I can't imagine myself watching this version again because it was just another cutesy idol drama. However, I do think it was good enough for at least one run-through.

I usually don't have the patience for longer dramas but boy was I pulled in by Forget You Remember Love. It definitely takes awhile to be fully immersed but each episode is super addicting and it does the amnesia story in a way that's not too annoying. I remember not really liking the Guanmei people but they really grow on you. Tonghao and Qian Yu's goodbye was probably one of the saddest things I've ever seen which goes to show how amazing the chemistry between the leads are. I feel like this drama has something for everyone - be it romance, family dynamics, funny side characters, and mystery. Jun Hao's family and Yun Yi were really really getting on my nerves but they went through great character development. All the characters are a lot deeper than they seem on the surface and got their perfect endings (except for my baby Taichu *cries*). Idk, it was just such an enjoyable ride and the one thing I looked forward to every week after a lot of online classes and dealing with my family members lol. I grew attached to all the characters. This drama had such a comforting and homey feel to it. There were various side stories that kept me entertained and the beautiful cinematography was another plus. The only downside is that I would've liked for Jun Hao to regain his memories of Tong Hao (but I also know that's insignificant because the important thing is HE as Jun Hao loves Qian Yu).

Yun Yi, in particular, had such an amazing wrap up. I love that they explored her depression and feelings of abandonment. They also did a great job with foreshadowing the conflict of Marv at the end!

The love story, while adorable, is also really tragic. The main leads had to go through so much to be together and their love was so touching and impactful as a viewer. Their love is all the more precious because of how much pain and suffering the main leads had to go through to end up happily together.

There were so many cute scenes that always pop up on my Instagram and I think I'll always click it, even if I've already watched it a dozen times. I know that a lot of people said that storyline is a bit outdated, but I feel like they produced the story in this day and age really well. It was comforting and nostalgic to watch something that gave me 2010s vibes.

A lot of the actors are newbies or people I haven't really heard of before, but I really hope to see them in more projects in the future!

I'm really going to miss all the characters and Guanmei and just tuning in every week. Even though it may have not been the most spectacular thing I've watched, it really has my heart and I'm so happy that it wrapped up so nicely. It is so underrated and definitely deserves more love!

I am a sucker for romcoms and i know they dont have to make a lot of sense most of the time and im fine with that but this drama is just beyond all the annoying clichès..
I get that their characters are poor bumpkins but it doesnt mean they should lack society etiquettes, common sense & workplace behaviors. The step mom was shameless & only knows money. Lets not forget the selfish inn owner who has lost grasp of reality. To add, there’s the back story that led to the revenge, a good man becoming bad, a childhood friend who was greedy & redeemed himself at the end, the jealous fiancee, one sided love of the magnanimous hot 2nd lead guy, bestfriend who’s secretly inlove with the male lead’s fiancee, the ambitious co workers, arrogant male lead who fell for the clumsy ignorant sassy kind hearted female lead. THE ONLY SENSIBLE CHARACTER IN THE DRAMA IS THE LIL BROTHER. A KID for heaven’s sake. Of course, the development in their characters happened towards the last 10 or so episodes...
Dear writers, can u pls stop writing stupid, loud, vulnerable, sassy but good hearted female lead. U can write them as naive or poor or sassy or careless but pls dont create a character with all the nega combos. Its no fun watching. I dont even feel bad at the part where all sh!t happened to the female lead because she is soo damn stupid or naive for her own good.
I have initially dropped this drama at 4th ep bcos of the annoying mom & inn owner but get to pick it up again bcos i think ive watched all there is to watch durin the quarantine and i got bored. Theyve dragged the drama way too long, couldve ended it at ep 20.. But no, they dragged it by overly romanticizing the female lead’s stupidity, as a love or business opportunity and even for the good of her whole community. have to fast forward so many scenes just to end it because droppin it again after picking it up is seems wasting my time twice. Quarantine gave me the fortitude to finish the drama. If u have a lot of time to spare and is not tired or overly sensitive, u can try watchin this. But if youre havin a bad day, i suggest dont watch this. This maybe a romcom with lots of eye candy casts but aint funny at all. Not even good kisses. Just suspended seconds of peck on the lips. Sorry just need to get this out . Lols

Not that bad

Let's be honest, it was not that bad, as bad as the other reviews reflects it. I am so picky when It comes to things I watch and I drop or just put the dramas on hold like crazy...

This drama was my come back to Chinese TV dramas.

This drama has been done twice before The Original Version with Joe Cheng & Taiwanese version with Tiffany Tang.

There were minor differences in this drama

Such as the piano scene, On the original version Shan Jun Hao was helping her to learn the piano on this version he bought the piano for her..

We had TAICHU he most definitely created the 2nd lead syndrome, he was helping our girl Ye Qian Yu from the

beginning and he was in love her but as she is blindly in love with her hero she doesn't even notice his love.

Also when she threw the ring on the original version he was going into sea to find the ring and she was throwing the ring to the sea for the 2nd time and he was acting like he drowned in the sea.

In this version when she throw the ring he didn't even look for it.

Fan Yun Yi is still the same dumbo blindly loving Shan Jun Hao, not seeing he never loved her and never will love her..

And I am more surprised by the speedy change of heart of Fan Yun Yi from madly loving Shan Jun Hao to falling in love with Xu Zi Qian..

It was recommend by one of my close friend that's why I started watching this drama.
Before watching this drama I can't figure out the meaning of the name but after watching I understand and it really suits the story.

Story- At first I thought it would be the same as all the romantic drama were but after watching some episodes it seems different and I really like the story.

Cast- Main cast was superb but I liked Taichu (Caven Wen) the most and also feel sad for him for not getting the actress. The staff members of hotel was amazing. And the most entertaining assistant I ever watched was Dawei ,he is to good.

You can watch this drama on wetv and YouTube.
Love from India ❤️

what is this show lol. I don't know why I stuck around for 30 episodes, but now the ML fiance is blind!?. They put everything in this show huh? also I feel bad for Taichu, he's trying so hard. The FL is so damn good for nothing, it is painful to see how any times she messes up, and the same goes for some of the other characters. The side plot with the ML's dad being a murderer(?) is so boring. I thought the romance would carry the show and I would be able to finish it, but nah I don't have the braincells to watch this anymore. How the hell did the ML completely forget her, and then she comes to his work and now all of a sudden he loves(?) her again. The one positive thing I have to say is that the acting is good.

Umm to start it this review I felt like this show is a bit draggy. The drama was very interesting at first, it was interesting how they met and the relationship development with Ye Qianyu and Taichu. I was kinda sad Taichu did not appear at their wedding. What makes the drama draggy was the amount of time Shan Junhao loses his memory and the amount of times they been at the hospital is ridiculous. The storyline was the best toward the ends when Shan Junhao and his mother lived in the Guanmei Inn because you get to see more of their moments and the fact that Shan Junhao's mother accepts Ye Qianyu. About the character At first, I thought Zhang Min Han would be the bad person in the drama but I was wrong, I eventually liked him toward the ending but Xu Zi Qian kind of make me feel disappointed toward his character. The ending made me think about it for days, I wish the director would have cut the middle part to make it lesser and less draggy and actually add more clips toward the end.

OMG do i hate her and her mother chen is the worst. . Its all her fault from the beginning , and all she does is cause problems. she should have taken him to the hospital at first for injuries and since he had anemia you took him hostage. You never notified the police or even cared if he had a family(wife, parents, sibling, job). In reality you caused his fathers death by not sending him home. Then once he got his memory back and went home to his fiancee, mother and brother. QIanyu just kept going after him as tanghao once he started to fall for you as shan junhoe you told he to get lost. You should have left him alone from the beginning especially since he had a fiancee who felt the same way of losing shen. You should have dated taichu (HOT) instead. He loves you
This means the writer got there meaning across, but still they are annoying.
I really needed to vent on this
