A student with a gift for words, Shantal uses her talent to woo her crush, her high school professor Daniel, by secretly writing him poems and declarations of love. As they become close because of their love for literature, Daniel, recognizing her potential, urges her to pursue her dream of becoming an award-winning writer. Shantal's world is turned upside down when she confesses her feelings for Daniel and gets rejected at their graduation ball. In the present, Shantal navigates adulthood and struggles to pay her bills by translating textbooks and subtitling porn - a far cry from her dream of writing poetry and novels. Things go awry for Shantal when she experiences writer's block, unable to come up with a solid follow-up to her first successful romance pocketbook. Will Shantal be able to find renewed faith in herself and write the stories she wants to tell? What lessons from her past will help her shape the future chapters of her life? A Different High School Romance
The story was great. Watching this series makes me miss high school, the school, teachers, and especially my friends. The series was able to tell the stories at two different times without spoiling what happened in the past. The sudden time jump between scenes was great that makes you have the urge to know what will happen and what had happened. It will also teach you real-life lessons. Both the young and old Shantal actresses were great. She and her group of friends were also great. You will feel the romance between Shantal and Daniel, despite being a student and teacher. You will feel the young Shantal is really deeply in love with her teacher. While the romance between Shantal and Marius was also great, to be honest, I feel more chemistry between them and I end up rooting for Marius.
What I love in this series is the twist at the end. I was able to finish the series within just one day. If you want a series that can binge-watch within just one day, then this series is definitely for you.
