This was what you'd call a 'beautiful story.' Song Joon Ki made me love him, made me cry, made me love and made me want to have a pet like him :P. The story had a hidden meaning to it and indeed was very touching. Not to mention mixture of feelings i had for it. The edges of my lips pointed upwards when ever my eyes met the perfect werewolf, SJK. The cast's acting was strong, and heart melting. The actress did a great job too in my opinion. Being a match to SJK's heart warming performances, is not a piece of cake. The supporting casts did an amazing job them selves, specially the evil guy who made me want to throw daggers at him for harming my prince, SJK. The music to be honest, i don't remember. By that i mean i was so much into the plot that even for a split second i couldn't concentrate on the music, nor my surroundings. Rewatch value i gave it a 9 since i don't think i'll mind diving into the thoughts of SJK. Overall its a 9 from my side. The movie really did engulf me into its story. No regrets at all on watching it. I'd recommend this movie to every one. Though i'd like to warn all the cry babies. And of course don't forget to bring your tissue box along while watching this. You can watch this in dramacrzy.net . Thank you! Hope my review has encouraged you to watch this beautiful movie ^_^

This is a touching tale that I was not expecting until I read the summary. I thought it would have elements of fantasy from the title and thought it was another movie biting off this whole vampire and Werewolf trend but it was a pleasant surprise.

First of all, the story isn't exceptionally original. It's been done numerous times but nonetheless, it doesn't stop it from being poignant and unsettling to some degree.

Song Joong Gi plays a boy who as the summary states appears to have been raised by wolves. He is discovered when Park Bo Young's character moves to the countryside due to her sickness and he happens to have been inhabiting the shed of the place that they just moved in to. Park Bo Young's family eventually pick him up because they cannot find anyone to adopt him and so the story is triggered.

This story isn't really about a werewolf. It's about monsters. Song Joong Gi's unrefined character through living with Park Bo Young's family starts a transformation to become human or to attain human qualities. He develops an affection towards Park Bo Young's character amidst his transformation and they develop quite a bond. However, due to numerous predicaments, he reverts into a "monster" and is dubbed as dangerous. However, a "monster" in appearance is not a monster at heart and in watching the movie you start to distinguish who exactly the real monster is.

The tale is somewhat light hearted but with very heavy moments that made me sweat a little from my eyes. However, I lamented a little that we never truly delve into any important details regarding Song Joong Gi's character. It's mentioned but not shown. It's not ridiculously relevant but I would have liked to know. Also, the villain is somewhat stereotypical and other than being a rich arse hole, there's not much we know about him. However, I guess his character is relevant in the success of this plot. However, the philosophical undertones didn't stop me from wondering what his story was. Take that as my need to always over think things.

Overall, a very poignant story with minor flaws.

I watched this with a friend and we both laughed like maniacs for nearly 10 mins at the end. You see, we had been 'saving' this film for a long time and had such high expectations from it. We watched it with keen interest for the first 15 mins, thinking this is the best from Korea, we have to pay attention. But there wasn't any inspiring moment. And so we started anticipating for a revelation to dawn on us through this masterpiece. We waited till the very end, hoping for a climax at the very least. But nothing happened. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. A Werewolf Boy is as mundane as your first working day after the weekend. Its lethargic, uninspiring and something you've to struggle to get through. And so in the end, we laughed at our stupidity for believing that this film was somehow 'a piece of art'.

Oh boy !!! i garra say this was the best movie i've EVER seen ?
No other movie could give that kind of.... peaceful feeling??! While watching it like this one could, people say it's sad, but i don't think it is, when i watched it i didn't feel sad nor happy i just felt at ease maybe?! i dunno what i'm saying... but i know that loved it more than any other movie ? it's just that kinda movies that leaves you speechless.
The story was perfect from the beginning till the end, for me, the best part was the end: it's just the most suitable ending for this movies, i can't imagine any other one ...
The acting was flawless, every single member of the cast was a pro, especially song joong ki ... i thought he was a real wolf in his other life ! after seeing him in this movie he became, not only my favourite actor, but also my ultimate bias ?
As for the OST ... i'm totally addicted to "My prince" ?.? OMG !! it is just amazing and Park Bo Young's sweet voice make it even better, i listen to that song daily more than 10 times ...
It's totally worth watching! i rewatched it 3 times and i think it's not enough

My favorite thing about this film may actually be the reactions of the other audience members when I went to see it... hordes of girls GASPING and WEEPING at all the right moments, not to mention the ahjussi sitting behind me who was belching the entire time.

But in all seriousness, this is a good melodrama. Really strong performances from most most of the cast, and it looks GORGEOUS. The main villain is sort of cartoonish (think Snidely Whiplash) but I think that's OK in a film like this. I enjoyed it. I may even watch it again someday!

OH MY GOD I CAN'T EVEN!!!!! This was a fantastic movie. I thought I was crying while watching 49 Days but this movie took LOUD SOBBING to a whole new level for me. All the cast was wonderful and supported the superb storyline extremely well! I loved the character of Cheul So and with Song Joong Ki playing the role I just couldn't handle it. He wasn't even very high on my fav actors list but just all the emotion he could show without even speaking and his facial expressions just wrenched your heart so much during the extremely sad scenes. The ending wasn't what I had hoped for but the movie being a flashback kind of restricts the possibilities of the endings so I can't really complain. I recommend this movie to everyone!!!! DAEBAK!!!!!

Watching this movie placed me in a rollercoaster of emotions. I was happy, sad, angry, sympathetic, happy, sad, and it went on.

The story was endearing, though I personally think the plot moved a bit slow. Or maybe I was just too sleepy at the time, and two hours was too much for me then. What I liked the most about this movie though was that I never expected to laugh so much. I thought it was a really heavy melo, but it proved me wrong. I think I may have laughed more than I cried. But the thing is, the moment I started crying, it was too hard to stop. The acting was very outstanding. Considering that Song Joong Ki barely spoke, his acting was really impressive. As for Park Bo Young, I never saw her in anything than this, but she's quite good. She just grew in me unknowingly as I watched.

Overall, this movie is indeed a masterpiece, and deserves all the love it's getting. And I'm not saying this out of my love for Song Joong-ki. But then again, he definitely owned this movie. He is the heart of it, hence the title.

I've been dying to watch this movie for sometime, ever since I read about it's Crazily HIGH popularity in Korea and the good reviews it received from viewers and of course the fact it is one of the biggest box-office hits in the history of Korean cinema.

I'll get to the point. The movie was as expected and publicized a BIG HIT. I loved the touching story, not just the romantic side of it but the humane part as well. In other words, not just the relationships between the two main leads but also the ones between the family members (especially the mother and Choel-Soo's) But of course the main attraction was how Sun-Ee's feeling towards Choel-Soo gradually develop from "Disgust" to "Curiosity" to "friendship" and finally to "Love".

The acting....well there's nothing to say above the rating I gave. more than anything Song Joong-Ki did a MARVELOUS job expressing all the character's complex emotions through his eyes (I've noticed through watching Innocent Man that he particularly excels in that field) To think that such a new and rarely played character came out so nicely expressed without the use of a single word!! Park Bo-young also did a wonderful job there's not one scene where you felt her acting was not good enough.

I have some minor objections mostly regarding the action scenes especially the CG used in the transformation scenes was simply horrible, a bit of an insult to the Korean Cinema industry.

I have yet to watch the director's cut with the alternative ending, looking forward to it.

It's a movie that has laughs, smiles, tears and even sobbing. If you're the type that easily cries watching movies and dramas, don't forget to get packed with some tissues, and if you're not the type that cries easily, I think you should also keep some at hand just in case ;-)

So, now that decent (but not official) English subs are out, anyone who had been looking forward to watching this, I suggest you do now fast.

CAN SOMEONE STARE AT THE POSTER AND FIND PARK BOYOUNG LOOKS LIKE JOONGKI a little?

First of all, I didn't cry. And I don't like the ending.

BUT I LOVE THE PROCESS OF THE STORY. It's unique. And I totally say this: this is not a werewolf movie. You can't judge the movie by its title.

(I might give spoilers unconsciously)

WHILE WATCHING, YOU'LL NEED: Pillows to squeeze, and water. to live.

Song Joongki here is a lovely pet. His acting is near natural. Near natural, because I remember taking note that I find him funny playing innocent at first (but the following minutes I find it natural). And also the girl's acting. It's really cute. They are cute. Not the type you would ship, but the type that you could consider.

Most especially Joongki's learning process. How do you teach someone to eat without finishing everyone's plate in one go? Joongki ate a lot here. The discipline he got is so cute.

Everything's cute, until you see the ending.

I hated the ending. I should stop here I guess.

I CANT BRING MYSELF TO DESCRIBE HOW THIS MOVIE MOVED ME, even after the movie ended and while watching the credits I WAS STILL CRYING....and even while writting the review TT.TT

WATCH IT!
THOSE WHO HAVENT WATCHED IT, WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!!

After this movie, I lost my fear to watch heart warming, teary movies, I will watch them even though I will cry like a baby, cause they always leave a diamond-like-memory in my heart. Cause the "teary movies" make your day, they ACTUALLY MAKE YOU FEEL, the blank your mind yet fill your heart...I still look around looking for the exact word to describe what I am feeling right now, but I cant help feeling I will certainly fail, for committing the worst sin ever by trying to put feelings into words and ending up ruining the magic running through my body.

At first it brought tears to my eyes, but while reaching the ending...without a doubt I became a CRYBABY, I was desperately holding a handkerchief against my mouth, I was about to yell while crying in the middle of the night.

This movie has made me a Song Joong Ki fan forever!
He portrayed the character perfectly, the eyes, the gestures, his gaze, everything WAS PERFECT, and even those little cute details while interacting with the female lead, all of it moved my heart.
