In Misaeng: Incomplete Life, main lead is an old Go pro player and obsessed with Go also and Hikaru no Go is a drama about mainly Go, but not also Go,, both of the dramas has character develepments and life lessons. Every character has a value, not only main leads

- It is a story that involves Go, an extremely well-known game and sometimes called Chess, which is strange.
- Drama focused on Go

Both have a main character who likes the GO game. It contains many lessons and wisdom based on the rules and spirit of GO. so inspiring and has great main lead character growth. actually, if you watched the two of them you can feel it's like two different dimensions but relatable! for example, if "Jang Geu Rae" met someone like "Chu Ying" or "Yu Liang" he would never stop playing GO. so it's like "Shi Guang" is the future "Jang Geu Rae" in a different dimension!

Both dramas feature underdog(s), their gradually growing friendships, and their struggle in their quest to rise to the top of their respective fields as professionals. It’s just that one drama is focused on ping pong and the other one is focused on Go.

Both dramas are about go.
Alhtough there is no romance in Hikaru no Go, the story is very interesting.

They both have:
1) The troubles of growing up and trying to become an athlete (of sorts)

2) Both feature strong friendships and some rivalry

3) Both have parental figures that help guide them

4) Have similar pacing and pull to the story but Racket Boys has Zero fantasy

? Both has same lead actor ( HAO FU SHEN )

? Will surely like OUR SHINY DAYS..IT IS JUST TOO AWESOME TO RATE...IT HAS SO MANY LIFE TEACHIGS AS WELL AS UNCOUNTABLE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES...??

Both focus on dream, passion, friendship and growth. No unnecessary romance and all the actor potrayed their character perfectly.

i will recomend the ANIME or the manga of that this movie was based of. its about shogi, japanese chess, and the protagonist is a 17 years-old guy who is trying to understand himself and his passion of shogi.

its about friendship, love and is sooo poetic (the anime and manga). the movie itself is an OK live action, but i hardly prefer the anime and manga ;)

p.s.: the japanese name is 3-gatsu no lion

Much the same sporty feeling

Similar storyline

Good friendships and side stories (better than this show)

No romance though… sorry there is no love triangle or love square :D

The ending is very similar but because there are more episodes in Hikaru no Go it is not a precipitate development like this drama

they're both chinese dramas and these 2 dramas inlude bromance and sport. Also the dynamic between the male leads are similar + there's no romance (heterosexual love story) part for main characters in both of them

Both tell the story of a childhood-formed deep connection. In both, the MC's grow up with their friend in their mind - living in a world of their own. And learning to establish their connection, as they grow, in a healthy way for them and for their surroundings.

i don't want to give any spoiler but you can definitely see similar depression/anger/sadness between Teddy Bear couple (mostly it's true for novel) and Shi Guang + Chu Ying. Teddy Bear is a bl and Hikaru no Go is bromance/bl. Also they both have spiritual + serious + humoristic parts

Watch Hikaru no Go for - Same vibes. Amazing bromance. Well fleshed out plot, beautiful story. Great acting.

Hikaru no Go is about Go, while Chihayafuru is about karuta

Ayase Chihaya is obsessed with a Japanese poem card game called Karuta. After entering high school, she decided to form a Karuta club to meet her previous Karuta childhood friends. However, people refuse to join her club. She then meets Mashima Taichi, her old Karuta friend from her previous school. He too refuses to join her club at first. However, after seeing how serious she is about making the club successful, he decides to help her.
