Better than expected

I'm on a modern Chinese drama run and they're all flawed in their own way. This did remind of me Kill Me Heal Me. However the split personality aspect is really weird. How that single incident where a boy accidentally scarred a little girl, left such a traumatic impression on 3 individual is kinda far fetched. Not only that, the way her split personality work is kinda weird....she essentially manifest personality every time she's stress...on the spot. He goes out of his way to deal help the FL lead every time she changed personality is also pretty weird. I mean, at one point, he essentially let her run his company...lol...a person with no experience running any company. Oh yes...the FL is very Mary Sue ish btw. She just excel in everything she does despite have no prior experience in this field. Also for him, the way he almost essentially threw away a girl he love when he thought the girl he had injured was another woman...was just weird. Even if you find someone you'd wrong and want to make up for it...how is that supposed to affect your current love life? Oh yes, so the ML is supposed to be a genius heir of a conglomerate that excel in a lot of investment beside his make up company. He sure acts like an idiot at times. He's a miser to a fault and acts more like a kid than a successful businessman. So the point is...people here in this drama operates in extremely weird logics. Also, one of the biggest plot point was her scar. A scar, in which she had successfully concealed with makeup...so how is that such a big issue is weird. I'm telling you...this drama operates in wacky logic.

But if you suspend all of the bad logic in the story, and its true of a lot of these Chinese drama, it's a rather enjoyable experience. I do like the FL's character and personality. The ML's is in his way quirky and cute. The doctor has a really good bromance with the ML. Lots of feel good, cute, and funny moments.

Pros:
- Fun cute romance with lots of cute scene.
- Do enjoy some of main couple.
- Do like the secondary couple with the ML's assistant and the FL's friend/therapist.
- The doctor and the ML's ex coupling is alright but never cared for that pairing. I prefer the bromance between the doctor and the ML.
- The ML's parent...though initially disapprove of their relationship are surprisingly supportive of them later on. Even going along with one of her personality change.

Cons
-As mention terrible logic everywhere. Every time she changes personality, people around her help her by trying to find a way to fulfill her desire. It's an interestingly plot device but the extent they're willing to go along with this...is...just weird if you think about. And EVERYONE plays along.
- Antagonist is alway bad: main one is the obsessive co-ceo of his makeup company I guess. Initally it was the ML's ex but she became her bff after she sacrifice her chance to fix her scar so she can fix her nose.

Despite how much I rant on this drama, I actually enjoyed it quite of bit. And one of the main reason is that they find ways to keep things interesting despite how far-fetch a lot of this scenario is . And they probably played a major role on how much I enjoyed this drama. It's not boring and they main leads are a like-able couple.

another light, fun, and pretty entertaining drama!

I was so happy because Chinese drama are getting better these year, especially in this quarantine time. From the first episode, this drama is very attractive and have a different kind of story. Not like your typical CEO drama, because the character of CEO in here is very stingy but it’s not a problem because this is the most funny and laughable part.

This drama is a something new for me.. because the story in here is very different. The female lead, Meng Hui is a make up artist, but suffering a PTSD and it makes her become another personality at random and she has a scar in her face (oh yes, a scar on the face is really big problems in china) that make her suffering for years. She got this because of an accident when she was a kid. Although I don’t understand anything about physiological things, but this kind of story is really interesting yet confusing because I can't imagine how the female lead going through this kind of pain for years. And the male lead, Shen Yi is the main reason because of it. He is the CEO of cosmetic company, and he tried really hard to make a liquid foundation to cover the scar for the girl who he hurt before. Both of them have their own difficulties and struggles, and when they both fall in love, you know that it will make a different kind of emotions.
So, watching this drama you will feel happy, sad, regret, and cried too. You want they are together but at the same time you will feel bad to the female lead too.

However, you should watch this drama because it has a very beautiful and amazing story, all the main leads and supporting leads are very handsome and pretty! Every character is so good and all their acting are amazing too. The doctor, her friends, his assistant, the parents and even all the coworkers are great! Love their relationship. Another plus point is the supporting lead, which is Sui An (the doctor and the male lead's best friend) is very good looking and I am looking forward to watch his drama as a male lead.

Totally recommended because this drama definitely one of my fav drama too and surely will rewatch it later!

If you are willing to suspend your disbelief and accept the "convenient" setting of some scenes, you will likely find this light and fluffy rom-com highly entertaining. The events that followed after the female lead switched to her alternate personality were often hilarious and unpredictable. With comedic moments like those and many others interjected at the right time, this show is a good pick when you don't want to watch something intense or be that emotionally invested.

I think the show would have benefited more if it were a couple of episodes shorter since I found the pace in the middle just a little draggy, and they overplayed the "third party threat" theme. To me, there was some melodrama that felt more like filler episodes. I am not a fan of angst-filled scenes that last more than 2 episodes when it comes to a rom-com. Still, the angst factor is low overall.

The chemistry between the lead couple was good, and they played off each other well. The progression of their relationship was delightful, despite the numerous disruptions from external parties. Also, I like how the show emphasized how the FL would always have the ML in her heart no matter who she turned into. The way the male lead came to realize and be sure of his true feelings for the female lead was also nicely done.

The development of skinship looked natural, and the kissing scenes were good. Nothing super steamy but nothing awkward either. I give credit to Zhao Yi Qin, who plays Shen Yi, the ML for the kissing since even for the "surprise attack kisses", he was pretty smooth. I watched him in "Fake Princess" and decided to give this show a try because I was curious about his acting in a modern drama. Despite being a newbie for lead roles, he did not disappoint. Besides being good-looking, he also showed a good acting range, and I look forward to seeing him mature in his acting skills, especially when it comes to his facial expressions.

Personally, I did not find Li Jia Qi as Meng Hui that attractive, although I am sure most would find her adorable. She is a newbie as well, and in general, her portrayal of the female lead was good. She transitioned well between her different personalities Finally! A female lead in a Chinese drama who dressed well and looked stylish and appropriate for the occasions. I often lament at how badly the C-dramas style their female leads, but in this case, Meng Hui's outfits were enviable and matched well with Shen Yi, who looked pretty fine in his outfits. I wish they would post where the show stylist got the clothes because I was practically drooling over many of them.

i also enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Jiang Jiang and Ah Tao. They were really cute together, and it was interesting how there was somewhat of a role reversal when it comes to the male and female dynamics in a relationship. As for the third couple, Sui An and Wei Lei, I felt that this relationship was unnecessary and thrown in as a consolation prize. Something was lacking, not enough chemistry perhaps, plus I felt that the character Sui An was suave and matured enough that he would have stood out on his own without needing a partner. Fan Zhi Xin played Sui An well, and he's another one to keep an eye on since he appears to have the looks and talent.

Music-wise, the selection was good, and each song fit the mood of the scene well. I did like a couple of them enough to add to my playlist.

Overall, this is an endearing drama that I would recommend for light watching, good-looking actors who can act, and laugh out loud moments. I would likely re-watch it on a rainy weekend.

By far the best Rom-Com I watched in Cdrama

I love how this Drama have all the spices I want in a series. When I ran into this drama while searching for something to watch, my first impression is that this series is just your another cliche drama where a CEO falls in love for an ordinary girl. I actually thought that it would just be the same with all other Cdrama series that I watch with that same concept however, a single clip made me changed my mind and I 'am very grateful that I didn't skipped this series. Let me tell you one by one why I love this series.

1. The CEO - He is by far the most interesting CEO I've ever watched. One that doesn't brag about his riches and dare to live like a commoner. The most frugal CEO out there who dares to ride a bus to work. Buys buy one take one for his food and wears cheap clothes like common people does.

2. The Commoner - This character is also very interesting. Not your ordinary commoner in a fairy tail-like story. She suffers from a mental disorder and have a physical flaws in which you rarely see from lead roles. What I love from her character is that her mental disorder doesn't make her your regular damsel in distress. In fact, her mental disorder had helped her be the person she wish to be without the constrains of our so-called personality. Meaning to say, her personality and characteristics doesn't dictate her common sense. She can be want she wants to be.. Now for her physical flaw, What I can only say is that I like how she doesn't make it a reason to pity or let others pity herself. Rather, she used it to her advantage and helped her prince a multiple times.

The story is very nice. I like how they made the background setting of the character very dramatic where as the male lead becomes the reason for the female lead's imperfections. How the male lead turned his guilt into his driving force to succeed with his career and how he turned his guilt into love. I also love how the female leads keeps on falling in-love with him every time she becomes another person. The story focused on the commoner's different personalities and how they overcome each one of them. I also love the other characters and their love stories.

The timid assistance and the strong-willed psychologist - This tandem is your regular polar-opposite romance. Whereas 2 completely different personalities fell-in love with each other. In this pair, the woman is the dominant and the male is the submissive. This pair tells us how the assistance tries to overcome the difficulty that the female character setting have which is her title as being a psychologist. Being a psychologist make it hard for the assistant to be her boyfriend as we all know that psychologist are good in reading people's mind. This couple is also cute as they both try to outwit and understand each other.

The Model and the Surgeon - I love this pair as well... with the model trying to be the perfect girl and the plastic surgeon who tries to understand his job. When I say understand his job what I mean is the purpose of his job. Many come for his skill to have their nose fix and make their face more beautiful on which the doctor believes that it is rather senseless because in the first place her client are already all beautiful such as her love interest. He feels that what he need to do the most with his career is to help those people who have physical defects . Nevertheless he still fell in love with the model God knows how.

There are too many thing I want to say here. About the CEO's father and Mother, the 3rd party and the fake childhood friend. How their lives got entangled from their childhood to present. However I'm too lazy to keep on writing. Let's put an end here and have you watch and judge the series yourself. I firmly believe that anyone who watch this series will come to like it.

P.S. The OST Lyrics are very inspirational. Also, I intentionally excluded all their names as to reduce the spoiler on this review.

Real rant about how damaging this drama is (TL;DR @ bottom). Bit serious, but this needs to be said.

First off, this drama is pretty mediocre. Although I was surprised that I never heard about it the months following its airing because of how similar it is to other dramas I've watched. Even though it's mediocre, it was somewhat entertaining. The best part about this whole drama actually happens really early on. It's when the FL and ML are on the bus, and the FL tries to take a picture of them both and teaches him the "heart" symbol with the thumb and the index finger, and he asks (paraphrasing) if it means counting money. (The scene is more hilarious than I described it; trust me.) It gets a bit repetitive, and the antagonists are quite cartoonish. Meh. The ML literally did all the heavy lifting of the kisses. He carried them on his back—or at least he tried. As a drama, I give this 3.5 stars... as a show... maybe 1.

The real problem I had with this are the comments on YouTube. I tried to avoid the comments, but after reading some, it turned out really concerning for me. I usually stand from the "entertainment is entertaining" standpoint, so I never focus on how damaging entertainment can be for people that believe it also applies to real life. As entertainment, this was okay. But for reality, I'll talk about what's wrong. The subtitles on YouTube call the FL's illness "PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)" when it's actually "DID (dissociative identity disorder)". It's also referred to as "stress disorder". The problem is not only a false classification of an illness, but it's the fact that the people watching it don't know that the FL isn't actually suffering from PTSD. From reading the comments, I can clearly tell a lot of the people watching are young. More likely it's prepubescents, pre-teens, or just teens that have no concept of what illness is being demonstrated. Mostly all the comments on every single episode consist of people calling her "PTSD ability" so amazing, and they love her in "PTSD mode". W H A T ? And then you see them wishing they also had that "power". This is incredibly concerning that they think this actual illness is something playful. PTSD can be devastating. Imagine if those people who may one day meet someone suffering from PTSD and believe it's a cool "mode" they can switch into. It's very ignorant and insensitive. They may react to them by saying what I see in the YouTube comments—and it's not appropriate AT ALL. I'm not sure how DID is subtitled for other sources, but it's a really bad mistake to classify it as PTSD on YouTube. I'm also not sure if in Mandarin they are actually saying "PTSD" and not"DID" since I'm not fluent in Mandarin, only Cantonese.

TL;DR: DID is not PTSD. YouTube needs to fix their subtitles. People that have no info on PTSD, by watching this drama, will now mistake it as a fun illness (a "mode" you can switch into). (Especially and most likely young people—evidence in YouTube comments.) They may tell a person with actual PTSD the same things that are said in the comments of the episodes, which are incredibly inappropriate, insensitive and ignorant towards someone suffering with PTSD.

(Sources: you can literally click on any My Girl episode on YouTube and find MANY comments complimenting her "PTSD self".)

PTSD? and Also: Secondary Leads Better Chemistry than ML’s

1) PTSD does NOT result in dissociative identity disorder. Fiction or not, PTSD was a really really poor choice of terminology for the female ML’s condition. It should have been called dissociative identity disorder, closest to what she really had.

2) I found the secondary leads to have much better chemistry, be much more believable in their roles, and no offense, more pleasing on the eyes, including fashion choices. The way the Director chose to dress the female ML, but especially her main hair style (with those headbands), was really unfortunate. At any rate, while the two main leads come across as really nice human beings in real life, this role and the required chemistry were too big for them, at least at this time.

Honestly, I watched the drama for the two secondary couples.

(By the way, I’m a female.)

NO KIDDING!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CDRAMAS OF ALL CDRAMAS!!!!

Everything was perfect in the drama in my own opinion. From big to the smallest details, you can totally tell that its a wonderful drama. Personally, at first I planned to watch the drama because of the FL amd ML, because i've been a fan of theirs since their previous drama "Wait my Youth" which is also a highly recommended drama. But as I watched the following episodes, I have developed also an interest to the rest of the cast especially WeiSui, TaoJiang, LS Employees, and ShenYi's parents. They made it more fun and interesting to watch.
Its not just also about the cast but also the music of it and the sound effects thats making everything more fun and cuter. With the music and effects, you could easily smile, laugh, get excited, be angry, and get sad all at the same time.
The story also is one of a kind. In my own perspective, I have never watched any other drama that has the same story as this one (I know I am exaggerating I am just saying that this drama is really good in many words). Though there maybe a lot of confusions at the middle part of the drama but trust me it will all be worth it. You can really learn a lot of lessons from this drama too that is related to family, work, friendship, memories, childhood, love, loyalty, appearances, healing, generosity, and many others. I am telling you this drama is the best and everything in it is perfect. In every moment, you will definitely feel all types of emotions all at once. You wont ever regret that you watched this drama so have fun and enjoy!!!!!💟❤

Sweet and simple (maybe a bit too simple...)

Story: The overarching plot was fun and sweet with some great messages to convey here and there. The progression was very fast-paced which is good, but all problems felt like they were very conveniently introduced and resolved. The progression of everything was very simple and it was evident that things were happening just to move the main story along. It also felt like a fantasy the whole time since the overarching story is pretty unique which made the characters also feel very unrealistic.

Acting: All cast members did wonderfully in conveying their characters with what they had (despite the script). The side characters (Wei Lei, Ah Tao, and Jiang Jiang) could've had more character development but the actors all did well despite the lack of background information about them and dialogue between them.
Meng Hui - Her transitions between personalities were smooth and believable.
Shen Yi - Felt the love he wanted to convey to MH and how devoted he was to her.
Sui An - A dark horse. His slight facial expressions held so much depth as a reflection of his character's experiences.

Overall, it was a good light-romcom that had everything it needed to be one but lacks depth in both the overarching story and character development. The actors all make up for it though and their characters can be very endearing despite the lack of depth.

A tad strange, but in a good(ish) way

Really enjoyed this one! Wasn’t fond of everything and there were some developments, both plot and character, that I thought a bit strange or rushed, but it was still a really good one.
Obviously dramas that are based on an identity illness makes for an interesting plot, but also gives the possibility of things getting weird and/or dramatic later on. Which is what happens. There’s also the issue of confusing guilt and the desire to compensate with love and affection and trying to figure out where the line is drawn between the two.
Either way, this is the sort of drama you kind of have to turn your brain off so you don’t get too bogged down with the details. It’s definitely fun for the most part and the acting is pretty on point.

With so many CEO-Poor girl dramas airing, this is such a breather.
The story, the character development, the acting, the customs AND the make up, even the side characters (LS Staff, I'm rooting for your raise! lmao) I love everything about this drama. Though I'm not really fond of romance, but the comedy in this drama is high and I can't help but waiting for our female lead break down in each episode (of course I feel bad for her, but its still hilarious!)
And especially the music! The ost in this drama is so great, its on my playlist now and I listen to it on a loop.
Also I really need Sui An and Wei Lei in a sequel for their own!

A beautiful and heartwarming story

I am so sad this drama is over now. I honestly think this is one of the best dramas I have watched so far in 2020. I loved the storyline, it gave me Kill Me Heal Me vibes, which is another drama I love. The main couple progressed really well, and I am a sucker for happy endings. I LOVED the side couple of Wei Lei & Sui An. Their characters development was amazing. I would love to see a spin off drama with them two. Clearly Ah Tao & Jiang Jiang were made for each other. So many adorable scenes with them two. The OST is beautiful, especially the ending song, which is my favourite. There was also the right amount of evilness in this drama. And the employees, they are hilarious and so supportive. Just the right amount of comedy. Overall, I would highly recommend this drama!

The underated bromance

These pair of leads is has worked together previously and I’ve watched the drama as well. I can well say that in this drama, LJQ really awed me with her acting. Honestly while acting split personalities in a drama is no easy feat, of course (imo) veteran Korean actors/actresses does it well but for LJQ I really think it’s good.

The chemistry between two leads were great as well (probably cause they worked together before). As for the bromance between ZYQ and FZX, I LOVED IT!! And how much cuts on the supporting couples also made the drama “fuller” in a sense.

I would say this is a great drama, cried and laughed here and there!
