Overall, it was a pretty decent watch and I laughed out loud here and there, I got sad at moments, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I liked the chemistry between the two main leads, I liked the relationships between everyone in all aspects and I really didn't even mind the side couples at all but I typically do. It was your typical big shot CEO that falls in love with someone that's ordinary but also not so ordinary. He went through a trauma, she went through a trauma, they could've done without the PTSD/Personality Disorder but it wasn't terrible, I kinda liked how she went from good girl to bad girl within seconds and how no matter what, he genuinely was just a nice guy, we love that for her. There was some freshness with these two because it's not the first show that they've been in together, but their chemistry was outrageous, the skin ship and kisses were nice and honestly, they never went through anything so dramatic so I kinda like that as well, they knew how to solve it but also go with the flow. The only thing I also hated was I had this lingering feeling that like someoone was REALLY up to no good, but you knew who the good ones were and bad ones were, but for some odd reason, I just couldn't help but keep thinking that something was gonna happen, but overall, not a terrible watch, I really enjoyed it, the music was nice, acting was spot on, I probably wouldn't rewatch it unless I wanted that romance ;) but, I liked it.

Mixed Feelings

I'm not quite sure what I feel about this drama. I found it to be quite exhausting though, everytime Meng Hui changed into a different personality, I felt that the story restarted again and again and I was watching mini stories within the drama. The supposedly cute moments within her personality changes, I didn't know how to take it - should it have been funny, romantic, serious....not sure how I should have reacted knowing as a viewer that it was all make believe.

Taking out the whole story aspect of the drama. I liked Fan Zhi Xin, his character as Sui An also was the most sensible out of everyone. I hope to see him in more dramas that I am interested in. Zhao Yi Qin was good for the most part, maybe it was the character he played. Again, I hope to see him in more dramas that I would be interested in.

The background music I liked - Turn It Around by Angela Hui.

Enjoyable enough to complete the series. In fact, this show is an easy watch with a lot of laughter here and there. You just need to ignore logic from time to time.

There's nothing extraordinary with the plot, some scenes even look a bit familiar but it was executed perfectly.

The couples look good together. Even the bromance (not a BL) was very touching. The ML was domineering but not really rude. The FL was sweet but not that gullible.

Oh and the OST is good too.

Definitely worth a shot!

Although in the beginning I disliked how the male lead was so one dimensional, it is really heartwarming to
see how much his love grows for her. He is sooo sweet and caring!
At first I wasn’t really sure about continuing with the drama after reading some reviews about the unreasonable breakup, but decided to give it another try. And I must say, this drama was really worth the shot. The storyline keeps getting interesting and unlike other dramas, you can always expect loads of interesting and entertaining scenes throughout each episode. I had such a good laugh throughout most of the episodes. A good combination of romance, lots of fluff, friendship, hilarious & emotional scenes, and not to forget the beautiful ost!

A DRAMA AFTER A TOUGH DAY!!

If you’re looking for a lighthearted rom-com drama, give this drama a chance. It’s a bit cliche but it’s not that bad tho... The leads r really good looking and i enjoyed their chemistry. Ngl the storyline is very enjoyable !!!!!! I finished the whole drama around 2 days 🤙🏻🤙🏻 glad this review helps!

Pros :
- THE CHEMISTRY YASSSS
- Each role has their own unique personalities
- I love how the leads support each other no matter what
- The CEO is very stingy but he’s cute from time to time hehe
- many cute scenessssss
- the characters develop through each episode

The ML & FL relationship’s is quite complicated but they always sort it out tgt. The friendships , bromace & family are really cuteeeeeee like sooooo cuteeee >.< ! Most importantly the leads really trust each others which i dun have to cry a river lfmao \^•^/

Cons :
- some parts of the drama r quite exaggerating
- we can guess some of the plots lmao ( or maybe i’ve watch too much dramas :/ )
- btw , it’s not perfect and yes there’s flaw but instead of counting their flaws you should embrace it cuz it’s a great drama to enjoy :-)))

PS . 20+ eps r too short:(
recommendations for modern c-dramas (honestly i prefer historical drama over the modern one cuz i’m inlove with their hanfu )
- Accidentally in Love

elephant in the room

This is one of the funniest drama i watch this year. This drama give me a good laugh from the first until the last episode. Yeah this drama have some error in the plot but really good & refreshing drama to watch. ^_^

This drama is about friendship, trauma, how debt from past effect your present relationship. This drama give us view how actually damaging to hide a lie, even just a white lie, in the relationship. You must let go the elephant in the room for make the relationship much better.

What good:
- a very good chemistry between the cast
- very funny plot & scene
- Very unique plot
- other couple except the main couple is so cute & adorable

What bad/lack:
- Why the main lead (Shen Yi (SY)) just willingly help Meng Hui (MH) from the first where he didn't know who is she.
- The changing character of SY is a little bit fickle. In reality people can't change that drastically in that little time.
- Not enough tension when the hidden truth is show up. It's just like show up like that with nothing to discuss, so hard for me to explained, but it's just weird in some way.

I don't know where to put the love rival, Xing Yao (XY), either it's good it or lack it. Good because she not too much show in the drama, but put enough damage for SY & MH relationship, every time she show up guaranteed she will messed up SY & MH relationship. Bad because yeah she just show up a little bit so weird in some way.

Re-watch: good & funny drama to watch but not give me enough vibe to re-watch.

"MAKEUP can cover scars but LOVE can heal scars" - from the series

I am late for a review but I feel like writing so this is for late viewers like me.
I have known this drama even before but I hesitated watching it but now I finally watched it and I loved it that I can't let go easily. This is simple yet complicated hehe,

This drama is taken in the reality world but if you watch it, it is actually equal to a complete fantasy but that will satisfy you. What I love the most in here is that every character is cute and funny, there is no boring character even the villains are funny lol. I binge watched it within a day. The first 15 episodes give me fun, funny, lovely and adorable scenes especially the main leads of course but I would say I am not that satisfied starting ep 16 although there are things that will still make you laugh, happy, and sad. The thing that I dislike is the LYING thing, they made a full of lies that made the story a mess towards the end, I think that I watched hundred of lies that even me believe its not a lie anymore because it kept going until the very end, I even thank the villain girl because of what she did the lies ended already.

Another thing is that all the men here are weak and stupid at times. They don't actually have a clear mind with their decisions. Especially the ML, he kept thinking that all her decisions are right for the FL but actually he considered his guilt more, we can't deny his love for her but its clear that his decisions is for him to get rid the scar to stop his guilt and worries. He kept on turning things into lies that made me think that it actually made the girls PTSD worse, if they become honest at the first would be better to not let us watch ton of lies. They just advertised that lies is good, for me even after watching the drama, lies (white lies or dark lies) is still not good because it creates bigger lies that will make things a mess, and will create unhappiness like what happened here. The wedding is almost perfect but I want it better if the FL recovers before the wedding so that everyone in the series and the watchers can watch it w/o worries.

Despite of those, I was hooked in the drama because of many things. As I said every character is fun to watch. I love the bad ass girl Meng Hui every character she did is great, she acted them so good, I like the cute Manager Shen, and also the other two couples are so funny. Ilove how they made almost all the character support and helped Menghui heal her illness except the the villain girl but accidentally she helped them at the end ahaha. Although I don't like the lies but to tell you I like how all the actors carried their characters perfectly and the scripts and directing of the scenes seems so good. I thought this would only be a silly thing but it turns out that it is silly yet enjoyable.
Meng Hui character is the center of this drama, it revolves how the ML tried everything to compensate his guilt and love her in an adorable way, all the workers at the company and her friend always supporting her and even her parents-in-law are willing to do anything for her. She is not that weak girl that needs support all the time because she is actually capable when her illness is acting up or not, she is talented.

Watch it!

A drama where ex gf and step mother are nice !

Underrated drama tbh ! The plot isn't very new but the portrayal of scenes is so amazing that no episode leaves you unsatisfied! Cdramas are really developing ... Recommended when you want to see a light and funny drama without pulling your hair

Things I liked about this drama:
1) No love traingle in this drama still very interesting
2) Every actor did excellent job
3) People say there are 3 couples in this drama but for me there are 4 bcoz I included there parents too as they have great chemistry too ( ML and FL , SML and SFL , assistant and psychologist frd , father and stepmother )
4) FLs every personality was great especially the daring and bossy one . She did great acting
5) Drama seemed to have great bromance of ML and SML
6) MLs ex gf and step mom are portrayed as good people
7) Office staff made the drama worth watching ! Shao Mei the girls with specs was so cute and daring , the way she shown giving speech after Shen Yi left to England in the last ep portrays how she turned herself from a clumsy person to responsible person for the company's future in Shen Yi's absence
8) Makeup and tv show staff and there rumours were funny and the choas was great
9) Most beautiful chaotic wedding

Things I didn't like :
1)Again the leads were childhood frds .... Ik the story wouldn't have been same if they weren't childhood frds but still I am kinda bored with childhood connections coz sometimes it feels unrealistic
2) Felt the ending was bit rushed ... wanted to see Wei Lei and Sui An return to China and all the friends celebrating together

Nice little drama that teaches us that real beauty doesn't come from makeup, surgeries, or facial reconstruction.

I liked how the writers showed the struggle women go thru to be beautiful in society's standards. The torture many of us go thru just to fit into these standards. But, in the end is the sacrifice truly worth it? I related to Wei Lei and Meng Hui so much because I feel like what they went thru many women do just to be liked and seen as beautiful. Xu was also a representation to of this too but her journey ended up in a bad place because she let all of the bad qualities in life and around her consume her.

Meng Hui's struggle showed us that true beauty comes between all of us. She could have been a very bitter individual because of the scar on her face but she didn't let it ruin her life. She developed PSTD to cope but in the end it was her strength and love that made her overcome the pain of the past. it was fun watchng her in her bolder personality though lol.

The writers also put in the effects of bullying and what it can do to a person. I liked the ending message that children are not evil, they just need to be taught respect, empathy, strenght when dealing with a bully.

Mental health was portrayed here too and even if it wasn't handled completely well I thought it was written well. Shen Yi was an example of how guilt, stress and pain can make a person become closed off to the world but like MH he was able to overcome it.

One of the most important characters was Sui An he was the bully who changed because of what he did and just wanted to atone for his past misdeeds. Again showing how children are not evil if they are bullies and can learn from their past misdeeds. His journey was well executed.

The cast was all good esp the supporting characters like Wei Lei. There were many moments I loved her more than the main cast. The protagonists had good chemistry together and was a pleasure watching them act together.

The music was ok. Turn it around was my favorite part of the OST.

Overall I gave this a 8.5. The drama did have some cliches and some characters annoyed me at times. And I did feel like MG dragged a little when a certain character was introduced but overall I enjoyed it.

nothing special but passes time

ok so honestly the plot is kinda shit LOL like firstly it isnt ptsd its more like mpd but its a drama so whatever but in terms of the romance side of things.. the lies built into this relationship my god 😭 my guy built the whole thing on lies.. but regardless its a drama to pass time if ur bored i guess.. i skipped thru some scenes

pros
- ex gf of ml is so nice
- office workers r so funny legit what kept me interested
- it does highlight important issues like how ppl are bullied based on their looks n how it shouldnt be like that
- side couples were cute but not much focus on them (kinda wish there was more.. the doctor was so leng)

cons
- annoying relationship between mls cuz its on n off , started from guilt n lies.. etc ..
- annoying side character who likes the ml.. even in the last ep shes annoying BUT she never acc gets away with anything so thats good at least
- rushed ending imo at least
- lack of research into ptsd cuz what they showed as ptsd didnt really fit the diagnosis

overall
the plot was okish , saved by the good actors , ost was ok i dont rlly remember it tbh lmao, i wouldnt rewatch as it was nothing special

I wasn't planning to watch My Girl because I'm tired of all these dramas about a CEO with a flaw and a sweet, innocent female lead, especially when they both look so young! But then I saw a clip from this drama that made me laugh out loud, and I was intrigued.

My Girl is funny, cute, generally not frustrating, and there are great friendships and side couples as well. Yes, the premise is really far-fetched and the female lead's disorder being described as PTSD seems inaccurate. Meng Hui, the female lead, has a second personality that is triggered by emotional distress, and these episodes conclude only when her goal is fulfilled. What this sets up is the opportunity for a bold, fearless Meng Hui to emerge, and this version of Meng Hui was so fun to watch. Lia Jia Qi really shines in this role, and it wasn't until I looked her up afterwards that I realized she played Xiao You in the 2018 Meteor Garden remake! Anyways, if you can suspend your disbelief and accept the premise, this drama is really fun and enjoyable.

As for the male lead, Zhao Yi Qin has had a stream of dramas come out recently but this is the only one I've seen. His character, Shen Yi, is extremely stingy, which is really funny to watch, but he's also consumed by guilt. A major part of his storyline is unraveling that guilt and it's a bumpy road. I was definitely yelling at the screen at some of his actions, and at around episode 17 this storyline gets really messy. I wish it had been resolved with more honest conversations.

I loved Fan Zhi Xin as Sui An, Shen Yi's best friend. He starred in Mountains and Ocean and had a supporting role in Eternal Love of Dream, and I definitely want to see more of him! His friendship with Shen Yi was one of my favorite aspects of the drama, and it has its own complications. I was glad this drama didn't go the love triangle route and that he had his own romance storyline, but I thought it was underdeveloped. I didn't feel like I saw the connection and feelings forming from his side. Pu Tao (who was great in last year's lackluster Fall in Love) was also great as Meng Hui's friend Ah Tao, except that as a therapist, I thought she should've been helping Meng Hui face and resolve her issues to stop the episodes from occurring. I loved that Ah Tao is confident and fierce, and that she falls for a soft boy, but I hated that the ending implied that as their relationship develops, their dynamic needs to change???

Wei Lei was the best surprise of this drama. I appreciate that she wasn't a one-dimensional villain and leave it at that to not spoil anything! Also, I liked seeing Yi's company's employees and it was great that they were a variety of ages.

Lastly, I love the ending song 极星 (My Polar Star) by 陈雪燃 Chen Xue Ran! I thought his voice sounded familiar, and realized that he sang the opening song of Go Go Squid, 无名之辈 (Nameless Generation).

Well sorted plot.

So I just took a break from kdramas to watch something cringey cause of all the serious stuff I had been watching. I took this up by the title cause I felt that it might be cringey but boy was I wrong(not entirely). There were some cringey stuff here and there in the initial episodes. But the story was really well made. The characters were written so well and the casting was just perfect. So the story is like the ML is a ceo of a cosmetic company and the FL is a makeup artist, makeup blogger and influencer. She has a stress disorder which causes her into believing and living into someone that she actually cant be in reality. Even though it could look like a weakness but its more like a strength for her. Because whenever someone puts her down or tells her that she cant get this or be that, her disorder triggers. Gladly the ML is a gentleman and when he realises the reason behind her triggers, helps her into being her pretend boyfriend. Although he tries not to spend money and save money everytime which is surprising knowing that he's a rich guy. Meng hui's scar is something brings them together. Then Shen Yi realises she's the same girl who he hurt accidentally in the past and the scar is the memory of that incident. Though Meng Hui tries to stay positive and reassures people around her that she has forgotten the past and doesnt care about the scar but beneath she is still is effected by the scar. Now people might say that the scar is not that big of a eyecatcher but I guess thay couldnt just distort the heroine's face and also the fact that you cant judge what imperfection on one's face can cause someone insecure and vulnerable. Anyway, they really built good character development among the leads and everytime she switched to her other self it was such edgy and very unpredictable to what she would become. Hilariously, the staff of the LS planning department( and the 3 people of the crew of the beauty contest) always took whatever s#it happened everytime. One flaw is that how could they add anyone in the middle of the show cause of an absence of a contestant. They could of thought of some other way for ML to find out of the scar. But I guess they wanted it to look shocking and dramatic. Nevertheless they had some very sweet moments throughout the story. And the chemistry is really great. I saw some bts and they look really good together. Moving on to the other couples, I'll tell you that this is the what I love about chinese dramas. The second leads also get some happiness and love. No friendzoning. The psychiatrist-assistant couple was really cute. They were totally different character wise but were set well. The boy being passive and always being made fun of while the girl taking the wheel building this relationship. And him slowly realising that he loves her and wants to protect her. He was such a fluffy boy. The plastic surgeon-model couple were great together. Irony is that they looked mature and rather more experienced in dating stuff but were the slowest to progress haha. Overall good drama with some wholesome romance.
