I Fell Hard for the ML in this One

I loved this drama!! I now know that I absolutely irrevocably love the high-IQ low-EQ trope and based on how much fun I had watching the ML, a Professor of Mathematics, stumble and fumble his way around the foreign world of romance.

So the leads were both stunning on-screen and with incredible chemistry, so much so that I forgot I was watching a drama. Both their characters were well-written and well-developed. Their relationship developed so naturally (once you get over the fake marriage and having-to-live-together thing...lol) and it was a realistic and not-over-the-top kind of romance that I have come to expect from c-romcoms. This one was different. No stupid breakups, just the kind of misunderstandings you'd expect from 2 people who had no intention of falling in love but who struggle to come to terms with their budding feelings.

Prof. Zhang was the cutest clueless-when-it-comes-to-love ML. I looooved that this drama was stripped of the problematic consent issues in most c-dramas I've watched, instead just a respectful ML who CAN ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE. Xu Ruo Han was splendid for a college girl who suddenly takes up more than she bargained for when she enters into a deal with her Professor.

Also, I just loved that this drama had none of the usual triggers that at the end of the drama I have to deduct points for. I did think the side stories were not so engaging. Otherwise, I had my fill of romcom saccharine cliches to guarantee giggling and squealing in the middle of the night.

I LOVE IT

this was such a cute drama with just right amount of fluff, fun, angst and drama.

the acting is superb, from the main cast to supporting cast and the grandpa character just gave this drama a finishing touch and its perfect. i watched this on youtube and i saw the comments saying they felt 2nd embarrasement in watching it because of the female main lead which i dont get at all??? she's cute and i didnt felt that at all???? she played the character so well. now on the male male lead, i always know him as a good actor so i already know this is gonna be good and he didn't dissapoint! he suits these type of characters so much lol

i love the main couple so much, they just paired so well and i felt the chemistry even on the start. i didn't felt any cringe moment and i just enjoyed everything from start to finish. the kissing scenes are 10/10 lmaoosoaoao I LOVE IT. i repeated those scenes a couple of times before proceeding lol they dont need those heavy bed scenes to show their chemistry!! its like watching two people who dont know anything about love falling in love, ITS CUTE.

for the story and pace its just right. i love how every in misunderstanding they try to resolve it right away especially on the MML pov knowing how his character is. i just dont like how they ended it with her choosing him over her career? im just not a fan of those type of things where woman have to give up her growth for a man but in this one she's also thinking about the grandpa who have only a few months to live so i'll give it a pass i guess!

overall, i would def recommend and someghing i will rewatch it i feel like to.

OH MY GODNESS !!!

I can say this drama is good. You can watch this drama to spending free time but i could say there isn't a big conflict on this drama? i mean there haven't complicated problems/plot. the main male lead admirer doesn't try hard to destroy his relationship and of course the main male lead is so consistent and so firm on reject "his admirer"
The main male lead is realistic (maybe because he lecturer? idk), cute, but not too romantic. he is "cold boyfriend type"? but i can say he so lovely because he try to be romantic boyfriend for his gf, lol, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT IS HE IS HANDSOME AND SEXY. (first ep will make you exited) haha

The main female lead is pretty, she good at acting and expressional. She remind me of a korean actrist (idk her name but she was on "My ID is Gangnam Beauty" drama) i'm right?

At any rate this drama isn't bad. the side story which is the main female lead's sister and friends is such a good things but unfortunately i cloud say that they're not good looking as far as the main lead do. (I'M SORRY)

Simple and sweet story

STORY: Bit cliche. Male lead is cold and smart (Mr. Perfect), female lead is clumsy (Ms. Casual). Some parts of the story could have been skipped with the story remaining the same (relationship with Gao Zhi Yi and Lin Nou was frustrating at times). Good character development, especially for Zhang Sinian.
EXECUTION: Nice pacing throughout as conflicts are resolved within 1/2 episodes. Chemistry between the characters fit their roles. Some funny moments between the characters as they figure out their lives together. Romance scenes were there but not over the top. Music choices were good, the song 夜问-花粥 was the best of the OTS in my opinion.
OVERALL: Cute story with the driving point being how Zhang Sinian and Yun Shu get together and lead their lives/change for each other.

I want to find myself a mans that is a professor. damn

This was so cute omg. 10/10, the grandpa is my favorite...everything. That is all.
Just kidding, but the casting was really well done! With the age differences and the acting. It was not a drama that made me cringe or anything. The OST was ok, it was nothing memorable. The side plot (not about the main romance) was ok, it could have been better. But the romance itself was so cute, I love to rewatch the moments! Overall, the drama was really light hearted and easy to watch. Really recommend!

Unpopular opinion here

I realize that I am in the minority here, but this is just my personal opinion, so please don't be ugly. I'll admit that the female voices in this drama bothered me a lot. High and childlike, it might have been better at a slower speed, but since there wasn't much going on in this show, watching it at a slower speed would have made it MORE painful to watch. The only reason I was actually able to finish this was by practically fast forwarding through the entire thing. 24 episodes, and virtually nothing happens between the main couple until episode 17. I hated both of the side couples and there was an inordinate amount of time spent on them, so that the main couple didn't have a lot of time together, comparatively.

I didn't care for the FL character at all in the first couple of episodes. Many things stated that she was naive, innocent or gullible, but to me she seemed stupid and irresponsible. How many times can a person get taken advantage of before learning her lesson? The actress was okay, and she was certainly beautiful.

For the ML, I thought there was too much time spent using too many big words to show how smart he supposedly was. I didn't find his acting believable, and I think this was the first time in a drama for me that I was hyper focused on the ML's complexion. The makeup department did a poor job on him. He had a lot of extreme closeups, and his face was very bumpy.

The chemistry was lacking between the main couple. She tried to make expressions that showed that she liked him, but she just looked silly. He was pretty wooden and unexpressive. The first few kisses were terrible. They got somewhat better later on, but by this time I really didn't care about or believe in their relationship.

Why must they always bring in the random "other woman" that shows up late in the series (I guess that's better than having to suffer through it for the entire thing), that thinks that just because she liked him years ago, he should like her now? And she just kept on and on - woman, learn to take "no" for an answer!

So, for me, this felt like a waste of my time.

Lives Upto Its Name.

I began this drama purely as a palate cleanser. And I have to say, it did its job really well. The plot revolves around an overused trope, but the characters shine in their own unique ways, particularly Zhang Si Nian and Yun Shu. Their chemistry was strong and there was never any misunderstanding or communication gap between them. There were times I felt things could fall apart, but they'd talk it out and smoothen the mood. Yun Lan, Yun Shu's sister was a strong supporting role with her own story. The bond between Yun Shu and her friends' and their complicated relationships was another part of the drama that I liked. I did skip many parts and stuck for the main characters alone. But, this is one of those dramas out there that didn't make me go crazy with frustration. A really light watch.

Warm slice of life drama

The male lead is “Mr Perfect.” He believes in strictly adhering to the rules. Not only is he a stickler for the rules but he’s also a perfectionist that uses scientific reasoning to make sure his decisions are perfect. His personality is very prickly but as the drama unfolds you begin to see the heart of gold he’s hiding underneath it all.

I liked that he’s not mean or arrogant like most typical rich chaebols. In fact, he often goes out of his way to help the female lead. But his sole caregiver growing up was his grandpa who is an intellectual scholar that uses scientific reasoning for everything. So this unusual upbringing makes him seem prickly and unapproachable.

His grandpa is gravely ill and his greatest regret in life is that the male lead did not have the warmth of a normal family growing up. Therefore, his grandpas dying wish is to see him find love and have a happy family. So when the female lead appears in their lives having been swindled out of her life savings and in desperate need, the contract marriage seems the perfect solution. The female lead gets a beautiful home to stay in while she gets her life back in order. And by appearing to be in a happy loving relationship the male lead can make his grandfather’s remaining days happy ones.

The female lead is “Miss Casual.” She’s a very laid back casual person that automatically trusts people because she believes that deep inside most people are really good just like her. So she gets conned and taken advantage of a lot. It’s not because she’s dumb but because she’s a warm caring person that prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt.

This is a light, easy to watch slice of life drama that warms the heart and teaches a lesson. There are no complex plots or action scenes. It seeks the answers to deeper questions in life like, “Can people that are complete opposites have a happy relationship? Must their outlook on life be similar in order for them to be happy together? Or is it better to have someone the opposite of you so that their strengths balances out your weaknesses? If they are strong where you are weak and you are strong where they are weak, is it better? Does it make the relationship stronger and more interesting?” The drama does a great job of answering these questions.

I liked the side characters and the secondary couples and their storylines. I also loved the sweet kind little grandpa. And the romance is really fluffy with lots of real kisses and skinship. What I didn’t like was the pace of the drama. It got a little too slow in some parts. The storyline needed a little more friction to keep it interesting. Waiting until about two thirds of the way through the drama before contemplating the deeper questions in life about relationships (which the drama is about) made the drama drag a bit.

Overall, even though the drama dragged a bit in some places, it was worth watching. Seeing how the female leads warmth and kindness touches the male leads heart and changes him was a joy to watch. His character growth was phenomenal. And when he reciprocates by helping her find direction in her life, I was touched. I liked how the drama showed that opposite personalities are not necessarily a bad thing. You can balance each other out and have a much more interesting life than if you were with someone identical to you because that would be boring. I appreciated the underlying theme and the message it taught. It’s definitely worth the watch.

As a person who is a sucker for student/teacher relationships I'll say....

It was pretty damn good. As someone who watches a lot of stuff for inspirations for an idea to write my first novel (maybe a trilogy now) I'll say this gave me a lot to work with. The actors did a superb. It teaches a valuable lessons of that love doesn't mean you to meet the algorithm to find your perfect match. That grandpas no what's best for their grandchildren, that yes ditzy girls with loving hearts are the key to making guys (I'll add Naoki and Kotoko in the mix for Mischievous Kiss fans) It basically had that same theory. That love is bigger than books, brains, and logic. That you are human and a Vulcan (Spock's logic is great logic, but he was also an alien) and human's require love and nurture (unless you're a serial killer). I liked what Grandpa said that in true romance their shouldn't be two parallel lines in a relationship, that one needs to intersect. I felt that it was true for (I'm terrible with Chinese names I'm American making this post so it's even harder, sorry!) But for the ML and FL I feel like Grandpa was right, sometimes to escape the past that turned you stiff and cold you need to find someone that's going to push you to not be scared to take risks and let you be happy.

I know I should commit on the others, but I feel like I'm going to anyway to give a solid review. The sister I understand with their father passing she'd always have the motherly and protective instinct especially since it was just her and the FL (who is her sister) growing up. But, I felt like she was so guarded that she winded up building such a wall that I was afraid she wasn't going to let true love takes its course for her and I felt she deserved a happy ending. She gave so much. And it's ironic that who she fell in love with is her sister's husband's best friend. I also find it ironic that his best friend is a drama actor. But, I felt like she needed him to waken up and break down her barriers to truly be able to live a happy life.

As for the FL friends. I will say this is the first time I didn't like them. Now, I should be more specific. I don't like her female best friend. She flirts with guys and she broke up with her I think childhood sweetheart and he's still there picking up her mess. And because she was bored of him she went and broke up with him to go out with crappy guy after crappy guy. He still helped her out and she kept throwing him under the bus. She royally made me mad. And honestly, she didn't deserve happiness. She deserved to be miserable because she never gave him a full reason as to why she broke up with him. She was just bored. She fell in love with the wrong guys to easy and her crying was annoying. When the boy best friend finally broke up with her I was hoping he was going to get away from her for good and lead a life to where hopefully he find someone that would genuinely lead him happiness and not toxicity. It was nice easy drama that I got into, but I must say there was somethings that I wanted to know that I didn't really wanted to find out. Like, I felt like I wasn't clear on how the dad died. What happened to the girls' mother? That I felt was unclear, but all in all it was okay. I may rewatch again I may not, but it was good. Not the best. Yes I did cry at some parts, because the FL and ML were literally the best part of the whole drama ( which is the point, but I've got side-tracked wanting the second leads to find their true love). Good drama.

Cute. Fluffy. Addictive.

Perfect and casual from the name itself portrays the love story of a perfectly perfect man and a clumsy casual woman.
Although after reading the plot i was skeptical about watching this but the story is far better than it. Yun shu(fl) and mr. Zhang(ml) both enter into a contract relationship during which the fl falls for him. It is the story about how gradually the ml starts to behave naturally like a human(lol!) and desires of possessing the fl.
It consists of a series of heart fluttering scenes and ofc jealous n comedy parts?. Throughout the drama i could feel butterflies in my stomach, so for me it was a success
Also, if u r the one who isnt interested in watching romantic and fluffy things its better if u reconsider it. Overall this drama makes me get more n more into love, just loved it ?❤

Not bad, not good just Is... but it did not make me cringe

I may have had too high hopes or may have seen to many of these while i do love cold male warm female stories I could not get over how extremely stupid they made both leads to be (yes different stupid but still stupid). I kept wondering how on earth these people had survived so far. I did however enjoy the awkwardness of the male lead and they did have great character growth and seemed to evolve allot during their time together and become more and more likable as the story progressed.

The side characters in this drama are both awful and really amazing and well everything in between so we do get the full spectrum of side characters. We have the grandpa who is the sweetest most adorable man that really helps the plot move forward in the most constructive way without au any trubbel. And the male best friend who is probably the sweetest guy in all of c-dramaland. Both of these are defiantly two of the most likable side characters I have seen.

While the male lead mostly grasps the notion of consent and almost goes over board while looking for her consent in parts of the drama (I never thought i wold write that sentence), he is att times a bit possessive though. The male leads best friend is both a stalker and not really one of those people who seem to care about gaining consent seeing he douse force himself on his love interest . Her sister is not really likable either so we have two good, two bad and well the rest are somewhere in between.

I think this drama is missing some fluff, I do not think I cringed even once thrue out the whole drama and what is a c-drama without its fluff? Is it really a c-drama?

The story it self has its ups and downs so its not really good but its not bad either... Its just one of those dramas that is...
