The storyline is pretty amazing with the actors making it more worth it to watch. As of ep 24 i didnt find any ep boring or it is dragging. There are going to be fun parts with some serious parts also. Its a well balanced drama so far. The cinematography is Top notch. The setting is also like very good. All in all it’s a good quality drama, very pleasing to eyes. There is enough angst and more than a fair share of handsome first second and third male leads LOL.Lusi Has done a great job in portraying her character which is Mischievous And smartass.

Ultra Slow Burn, Amazing Chemistry
This is going to be my shortest review ever! Love Like the Galaxy is one of the better Chinese dramas released so far this year. It is serious and yet so comedic. The acting is spot on though Wu Lei may look a bit stiff when he walks as he tries to look grandiose, but I can overlook this flaw because I love his character so much and Wu Lei looks great. His subtle emotions are convincingly done as he's supposed to be a stoic person. Zhao Lusi is simply amazing here and her character is so lovable and relatable. Overall, a drama well-done and deserves a TWO THUMBS UP!BRAVO!

Alas! More than a decent drama
I can't find any glaring flaw in this drama. The storyline is really good and the script is pretty well written and its meaty. The two young leads may not be brilliant but their performance has been better than I expected! The rest of the characters plays just a s big a apart with their own stories, Love CSS parents, and the grandmother, her uncles and brothers and BFF. They are just Stella ensemble giving the drama far wider scope and more inclusive in every way.. As far as Part 1 goes, I am more than happy!!! Let's hope the Part 2 will be even better. PI am looking forward to a brilliant ending!!Was this review helpful to you?
terrific story well scripted, wonderful cinematography. A must watch.
I only failed to give it 10/10 because some of the music was a little strange for me. The whole crew have done such a brilliant job on this C Drama. I have watched a few but this one seems to me to be a stand out one.The F/L portrayal of her character was brilliant. A traumatised child with huge distrust of adults, with very little warmth in her life. I felt really sad for her. It was lovely to see her grow from a sad beginning to become a beautiful warm but certainly strong woman.
The M/L portrayal of his character i felt, is outstanding. The predominant dark side, the anger and resentment of the people who had betrayed his family was so strong you could see it, feel it. Wow. The eyes have it. The controlled anger in his voice.
My other stand out actor was the Emperor, he balanced out the dark side with humour, love and compassion.
The Mother 's story was sad, how did she expect that punishment was the way forward to heal her child. The actress was so good. only realising much later that love and not fierce discipline was the way to go.
Infact i don't think you could criticise any of the actors even the minor roles were acted so well. i really really enjoyed it.
Sometimes the subtitles were a little strange, but then again, i don't speak any other languages, except for hello, goodbye, thank you and to do my grocery shopping. i can do that in a few languages. Nonetheless it did not spoil my enjoyment of this series.
Will i watch it again, i have, when i need to escape from my life for a little while, i will pick out one or two episodes depending on my mood and rewatch them. But i have to say i have watched all of it a couple of times. i expect i will again. I am quite old so i have the time.
Many thanks for all the efforts from the actors, and crew, screenwriters, director, in fact everyone involved in the production of this outstanding C Drama.

The only issue about this I don’t really like the costumes and hairstyles. They honestly could have done something better with it. I also have no idea which dynasty this is from on the way they word some phrases.
Love Ling Buyi’s character and I’m honestly so envious on their love, sadly season one doesn’t have much scenes with the main leads hoping season 2 will.

Worth The Watch
Whoa....what an extremely good drama. This drama was not perfect, but does have good acting, storyline and direction throughout. This is one drama that got stronger with every episode and peaked well as it ran towards episode 24 and beyond. I liked Zhao Lu Si's, Shao Shang's character who started with an abandoned, un-loved childhood. When her parents return from War, her mother struggles with parenting Shao Shang. She is then keen to escape her 'stifling' mother and in-advertently agrees to marry Lou Yao who represents a stress-free comradery relationship. Through a series of events, she is then betrothed to the enigmatic and powerful General Ling Bu Yi, who is engulfed in mystery and revenge portrayed really well by actor Wu Lei.In preparation for her impending marriage to Ling Bu Yi, who is madly and deeply in love with her, Shao Shang is required to spend time in the palace under the tutelage of the Emperor's Queen Consort Yue. Within the Palace walls especially on the East side are where all the politics, deceit, secret and struggle lies. It was enthralling to watch how Shao Shang maneuvers and overcome many episodes of torment and mis-understanding. The hardest came in the form of Ling Bu Yi's mysterious past. As everything un-folds, the eagerness to know becomes more and more intriguing for viewers. I did not enjoy watching Shao Shang's non-negotiable attitude when it comes to love due to her neglected childhood, but when she was committed, it came in full gusto which gave my heart the lift that it needed. Overcoming all her own insecurities in loving and being loved. From obscurity to being seen and loved by everyone around her made her the absolute hero in this drama.

The Best CDrama I've Ever Watched
As a fan drama and movie with a fast pace, this one definitely the first CDrama that I watched with normal speed and without skipping any parts/scenes. I used to watch it with double speeds and skip after skip since some previous CDramas I watched were full of bickering trashy talks to drags and length the duration. This one definitely uses a smart way to catch my attention. It has a sweet way to introduce all characters. There's no "not useful character", even Chen Sheng Gong a character with the least dialog, can't be erased since he is the reason why Niao2 has to stay with her Grandma. My fav character is A Fei, he can make me smile in each of his scenes. And I'm happy that the writer doesn't kill A Fei and A Qi just for the shake to make the story more "dramatic".
Its way to introduce each family of each character is very nice too. As an Asian, Niao2 life is very relatable to me (but, I don't have Ling Bu Yi, the Emperor, and the Empress to help my ass, lol). The feeling to have our parents compare us to everyone, makes me feel everyone is better than me, and that I am nothing but the black sheep of the family, bad-mouthing in front of everyone.... Even the Empress is not as different than Niao2's mother, who can be a great mother for Niao2 but not for both of her own children. For the first time, I can enjoy an Asian family relationship without feeling heartache and depression.
All characters' personalities are also well written and make sense. Niao2 who has trust issues and refuses to depend on others makes sense coz she's been abandoned and bullied since birth. Zi Sheng who is quiet and crazy to gain his experience in war makes sense because he is trying to surpass his uncle. A Yao who is timid coz he got used to having his brother do almost everything for him, and Yuan Sheng who clueless about how to get a Niao2's heart is make sense coz his teacher just as clueless as he is. Niao2's mother is hard coz she's a soldier and the father indeed mostly has the opposite way from their wife on how to treat his children etc
It has (of course) Ling Yi as the main villain, but to drag the story, instead of using bickering useless talk, or too focused to Ling Yi's bad deeds by adding unstoppable evil plans, it used a lot of unrelated villains instead. These villains are not only useful to drag the story, but they also help Niao2 to be more mature and wise. I love it also even gives a great ending for each villain, some of them even get a better life and even have their personality changed.
It also does not use the enemy-to-lover (lame) formula that is used in most CDramas. Even though in the novel, Niao2 is described as an extremely beautiful woman, (you can see some scenes where some characters appraise Niao2's beauty) Zi Sheng falls for her courage to expose her own family members who violated the law, A Yao falls for she fought back when his fiancé insulted her at the festival, while Yuan Shen falls for her smartness.
I feel sorry for Yuan Sheng, for using the wrong method to approach Niao2, and when he does it right, it's just too late.
I like how the writer even 5 years is not enough for Niao2 to forgive Zi Sheng. (I HATE lame plots like when the character pretends to get sick in order to get forgiveness from their love interest, or the "go to a faraway place and then be prevented"). Another reason this drama deserves to get my perfect score is regardless Asian perspective on "the must" for getting married, this drama shows some characters who are brave enough to stay single, and that living a live as single is a choice, not a pathetic thing.
And after Ling Yi's death is put at ep 48, gives all characters enough episodes to end their stories. Like the dead for the Empress; Niao2's mother and Grandma understand their mistake and even though she try to atone it; Zi Sheng for his guilt and Niao2 for her anger.

My Favorite Cdrama of All Time
This show has everything for me!The stellar cast, intuitive director with an outstanding aesthetic sense in each detail, thought-driven writers and all the professionals crews deserve loud applause!
…..an expert sample of how to write a great screenplay and create a stunning high-adrenaline narrative.
The combination of comedy, tension, angst, struggle, sadness, anger, joy, and romance, mixed with the right composition and dose to be feasted.
Don't judge a book by its cover, because power and truth come in many forms, just like love.
The character portrait of Zhao Lusi as Cheng Shaoshang will leave you wanting more kinds of nuances!!! To be honest, she was very tough in living life. As a young girl, her courage and ingenuity were admirable to succeed in getting past those plots. Sharp instincts and reasoning power to observe everyone and events produce accurate deductions for a kid at her age.
I also admire Leo Wu Lei as General Ling. His wooden expression feels hypnotizing, emphasizing his aura of mystery and his dominance.
Ling Bu Yi's relationship with Cheng Shaoshang from the beginning to the end of the show is so contradictory, unique, interesting, and so sweet when they are together!!
Love Like The Galaxy is amazing!!!
Highly Recommended!!!

Great story, direction and perfectly casted show
I watched a ton of Asian dramas but none of them has ever had me hooked like this show. It made me watch till the end without skipping any scene, even replaying when I missed a subtitle. It was agonizing waiting in between episodes so I also rewatched prior episodes on the days where no episodes are being aired. In summary- top notch acting from all cast members who all have contributed to the story; great direction, very polished cinematography - splendid camera work and editing overall - and a solid, interesting story nicely wrapped up in the end. 10/10

Whim turned into first love
Who would have thought that a whim would bring me to my all time favourite drama? Certainly not I...LLTG part 1 took me completely by surprise. It had aired until episode 12 (still one of the best) when I started watching out of curiosity. The result was me devouring all episodes and meeting my first love in terms of drama. Part 1 focuses on the heroine Cheng Shao Shang, explores her family relationships and lays the foundation for a slow burn romance.
I want to start with the fact that LLTG deals with some serious themes disguised under humour. Cheng Shao Shang is the victim of systematic abuse at the hands of her grandmother and aunt. We're talking control through food deprivation and being left to die of illness. She has grown up without most of her basic survival needs being met.
As a result, Cheng Shao Shang has learnt the hard way that she can only rely on herself since other people, including family members, do not necessarily have her best interests at heart. Her choices and behaviour are not due to immaturity, but rather a consequence of the lack of physical and emotional security she has lived through for 15 years.
Zhao Lu Si's portrayal strikes a perfect balance between a Cheng Shao Shang who is alternatively cunning, stubborn, vengeful, at the same time yearning for affection and approval. Her complex acting has brought a flawed yet very lovable character to life, making me emotionally invested in this coming of age story. The heroine makes mistakes and grows gradually, as she goes through challenging life experiences.
LLTG is very much a character-driven drama. Part 1 highlights family dynamics underpinned by child neglect and discrimination, power struggles and hypocritical values. The beauty of it lies in that all characters have been performed in a strikingly memorable way. At least for one scene, every supporting character shines as if they were the protagonist.
Cheng Shao Shang develops a complicated relationship with her mother and hopes to escape the family environment through marriage. Early on, she meets 3 suitors, who each have advantages and drawbacks as potential husbands. All 3 also have complicated family backgrounds, which have shaped their views on love and marriage.
The suitor that stands out is clearly Ling Bu Yi, a quite dark character whose softer side only comes out in the presence of Cheng Shao Shang. Wu Lei shows a compelling performance which improved with every episode and also looked very competent in action scenes. His eyes are so expressive and they seem to effortlessly convey a myriad of emotions.
What I love about LLTG is that all characters are layered and their dialogues contain many nuances. One can watch episodes again and again and still find new details or an interpretation which was missed before. Cinematography is impressive as well and rendered key scenes even more impactful.
LLTG part 1 is a perfect 10 in my book, the first one I have ever granted to a drama.

Hilarious Show with an Extraordinary Heroine That Won't Just Make You Laugh, but Cackle and Guffaw.
LOVED the acting, characters, humor, heart, love story as well as the mystery. There wasn't a wasted minute or bad performance during this show and it was a rare C-drama show that I wished every episode could have been longer. Though not just a romantic comedy, because there were some heavy, dark, serious, and violent parts, the humor was sometimes so funny that I found myself not just laughing, but actually cackling. Luckily I wasn't eating or drinking anything during those parts. Eat and drink while watching this show at your own risk for more than just one reason. The heroine was amazing though ironically the story was centered around how her family and the people in her life thought she was anything but great (to put it kindly). I love that her story pulls at your heartstrings in a natural, sincere way instead of feeling manipulative and forced. I also love that she's kind but not weak nor a pushover. She's lovable, hilarious and so root-worthy. She pulls off the rare feat of being naive without being annoying or TSTL. She somehow manages to be very clever and yet unworldly at the same time in a very charming and sympathetic way.
Even with the high rating, I'm surprised the ratings and viewership aren't as high as Mr. Queen (at time I wrote this) because it's just as funny as that show and the story just as compelling if not even more so. This show was so good from beginning to end that I broke several cardinal rules to watch it and I am so glad I did. I usually avoid C-dramas because they can oftentimes be the same stories packaged with different actors and titles, thus repetitive and slow or have terrible middle and endings despite starting out really well. So I tend to wait until the show ends then check the spoilers and rating as it has saved me many wasted hours and unneeded stress doing that. However, the title of this show drew me in and the description as well as the ratings made me want to take the risk of watching this show before it ended and I'm so glad I did. Though there is a part two, it's so good that even if the rest of this show, meaning part two, is terrible, what's been shown so far is so good that I will not regret the time I have spent watching all the episodes so far.
I binged watched it and I was not bored once. I can re-watch it all again easily. I didn't like the violence and abusive behavior but I FF those parts and still got the gist of the story and enjoyed the rest. I cannot wait to watch part two and since this show was such a huge hit in China, they decided to release the second part immediately so there's no interruption between part 1 and part 2. I will definitely check out the two main leads' other highly rated hit shows to help me with the wait in between episodes.
