Colossal mess
Reasons for a 5.5 (the lowest I ever rated a drama):1. Spoiling a good premise
2. Mishandling of well set characters
3. Ruining first season
Reasons this still gets a 5.5:
1. Mark & Kit
2. Kimmon & Copter
P'Pa singlehandedly upsets the delicate balance on which several friendships and relationships were loosely hanging on by and that is pretty much the entire story. 4 eps or so in, the focus that was equally distributed on all 3 couples tilts completely onto Wayu and Thanu, whose plotline is sedative at best and a melodrama at worst. Everyone around them knows how their relationship ought to and ought not to be and why and watching the few romantic scenes they do have between them is just a painful cringe. The situations change and the dialogues are slightly tweaked but it's pretty much the same- Wayu is uncharacteristically confused and muddle headed and Thanu is going to quietly wait until Wayu comes around. We understood that the first time, can we move onto something else now?
Problem is, GenY2 tried its best to present realistic issues that may arise in relationships in a very unrealistic way, not to mention said issues are resolved improperly at best and incompletely at worst. Long distancing, dealing with the exes of past in the present, the difference between the love we give/want to give and what actually the other person needs, the respect that exists in the relationships, meddling third parties...are an interesting set of obstacles one may encounter and thus make for good story elements. But what use are good ingredients when the cooking is a disaster? We are not even talking about Destiny and Fate that were needlessly incorporated into the story in S1. Why have the hide and seek happen and visions of a possible future unfold only to refute the concept of Destiny and its role in love 12 eps later? But then, what about Thanu and Wayu whose story and journey together is an antithesis of the moral GenY2 perpetuates? Furthermore, Sandee, Phai and Padbok are given endings that make one go, "That's it? That's the reason?", making their entire arcs meaningless. Likewise, P'Pa is an unnecessary character if all we are going to get as a reason for him abandoning Wayu is that. 'I don't love you anymore, this is not working for me' is a much better reason.
Wayu and Thanu take up so much of the storytelling that the others don't get their due, Pok and Tong taking the brunt of this damage. Mark-Kit manage to have an exclusive spot for themselves but what little they have is complicated by their (irrational) decision regarding Kit's scholarship. Jack-Ko are necessary (and welcome) comic interludes but Sandee's small crush on Phai is never addressed. It's a pity that everyone except Wayu-Thanu had so much to offer but we see so less of them. Ever since S1, I've had the feeling that Wayu-Thanu were supposed to be the "mature, soft and gentle couple", Mark-Kit, the "cute and playful couple" and Pok-Tong, the "hot, messy, teen couple" and S2 reinforced my belief. But there is a way to show "mature, soft and gentle" and this is not it. The actors are good, except Dun, who needs to improve. Gen Y2 is something that needs fast forwarding even when you're watching it on 1.5x or 2x mode. That says everything about the mess of a drama it is.

My overall thoughts are they just spent way too much time on nothing.
This contains some spoilers so look away now if you don't want to see them.I didn't exactly hate this series, but on the other hand there wasn't much to like or remember. In a couple weeks I probably won't remember anything about this series. The technical aspects of it were very good, picture, sound translations. The guys were all attractive, and are good actors in my opinion. That being said, this series has major plot/story issues.
Mark-Kit being apart because of Kit possibly moving away drags ON and ON for way too long. That is their whole storyline, the end. I could see them taking maybe a couple weeks to do that experiment (at most!) but even then it is sorta dumb to stay away from each other to prepare to be apart. Wouldn't you want to maximize the time together before you were separated for a year or two? This silly plot left almost no time for them to be a couple. So we get lots of texts, video chat, and so on. And to do this game even during their friend's funeral and after discovering that you miss each other is just odd.
Thanu and Wayu suck up most of the screen time. OK, so maybe this series was supposed to be about mostly them? I don't think I can even recall most of what happened between them, because very little did happen. If this series was supposed to focus on this couple, why not make them do couple things or act like a couple. These 20-something year old college students can't even hold hands until the end of the series. I get Wayu being shy (I was at his age too), but Thanu should have taken the lead a LONG time ago and moved things forward, or at least tried to. But it seems Thanu couldn't do much more than be in the background. Maybe they weren't ready for a full on sexual relationship, fine. But at least they could, I don't know, cuddle or kiss or something. Again way too much time is spent on trivial things and not on them being a couple.
Jack-Koh or Koh-Jack should have got more screen time, they actually seem to have chemistry unlike the other couples. They added a lot to this otherwise blah series. But again after at least one semester passes, and even at the end 3 years of time elapsed, they still can't even acknowledge they like each other. Maybe they weren't ready to go public with their relationship at the beginning, but they can't do more than a peck on the cheek after 3 years? Like who were they fooling by pretending to hate each other? Everyone in the series was mocking them for their fake hate relationship, so just come out already!
Pha's storyline is just weird. He didn't want to hurt Wayu, so he disappeared. I get not knowing how to deal with this death sentence. But he had to know that everyone would find out about his illness. It didn't seem like he moved away to make it harder to find him, like he was there in the city the whole time. Did anyone knock on his apartment door and see if he was around? Nobody bumped into him in the supermarket or wherever? And his death scene was a bit, umm, fake. Like cartoonish fake. And that Halloween store styrofoam gravestone was both sad, and hilarious at the same time. They would have been better off with just a simple wooden cross than that abomination of a grave marker.
Pok and Tong need to learn how to communicate. Like the other couples, they can't even hold hands or kiss at age 23. And the stupid misunderstandings abound here just so the writer can inject drama. Again, weeks of not talking and not advancing the plot. And suddenly at the end, everything is all good!
Sandee was all Mr. Evil in the beginning, but then all the sudden it was like "oh it didn't hurt my grades anyway, no big deal". So why was it a big vengeful thing all that time then if he really wasn't affected by any of the Tong-Pok drama. Like couldn't he have ignored the whole grade switch thing? I mean, I might have made fun of Tong for being dumb enough to switch grades that are identical. If he thought someone needed punishment for cheating why not report Tong? None of his storyline makes sense. And did or did he not like Phai, we will never know. This possible relationship is another missed opportunity for this series, instead of the endless Mark-Kit or Thanu-Wayu scenes that dragged on and on and on this couple could have added something to the series.
This writer seems to have a thing about couples not being intimate. This same pattern about no physical contact or action repeats for every single couple. Not every series needs to be a porno, but I suspect that college guys (at least most of them) might want to do more than talk and maybe have a peck on the cheek. Being a gay guy that was once young, I can tell you that if I was any of these couples, I would be doing a lot more than talking or sniffing someone's cheek.
Couple other random thoughts. First being is Beanpaste a common name??? Could that be translated better (does it mean something nice in Thai), or is that just a weird nickname? And Padbok with his "I must fulfill my studio contract so I will make an appearance for 2 minutes" is yet another WTF. And there were like what seems like 50 other characters that didn't add to the story or anything except occupy screen time.
My overall thoughts are they just spent way too much time on nothing. The sheer amount of time they spend staring at each other, or not communicating is astonishing. There were so many poor writing choices made here, nothing was special, outstanding, or unique. I don't blame the actors, they seemed to do what they could with this crappy story. This series should have been 6 episodes instead of dragging out. There was 2 weeks of real life action spread into over 3 years time. The plot was so weak it was like a middle school student wrote it rather than a professional writer. And the director and producer let this happen...

A good idea to explore in theory
The idea of a season 2 with Thanu and Wayu as the main couple could have been a good idea if the writing was better.Lets be honest here.... the story was boring. Mark and Kit spent of the season separated because of the possibility of kit getting a scholarship... like why spend time apart? (Completely illogical) Enjoy every moment. It kinda goes against what they were saying with Wayu and Thanu....
See the thing is i really like several ideas that this pairing had... the idea of a second love.
Most romantic shows have this thing about the first love being your only love. Pha broke up with Wayu and it was heartbreaking to see him so sad but their relationship from what we can tell was pretty positive. It ended with a simple we should break up... no one cheated, no drama, no blackmail, just Pha leaving and Wayu while not understanding what went wrong eventually moving on. (A realistic breakup)
Thanu had someone he believed would have been his soulmate but he chose Wayu. Even when Pha came back Wayu made it clear to him that he had moved on. He felt guilty and wanted to take care of him but he didnt love him anymore. He had truly chosen Thanu..... but the excution of all of it failed miserably
There were so many missed opportunities here.
The only thing i liked was the message... life goes on... love goes on...
Those are powerful messages and while the set up for a moving story was there they failed to bring it to life

Save Yourself!
As we all know, a S2 can be risky business (especially BL) because content gets thrown in just to kept the sinking ship of a story floating. I dreaded watching most of this but stuck it out in hopes every plot hole at least became ONE plot hole, but no. I wanna spoil it for you and give you the run down that I spent 12 episodes suffering through, but I won't. All I'll say is this season was a flop and S1 was better by far! The first season was kinda something I'd recommend to a newbie but not if it leads to this pile of a S2. The only thing I can compliment on is the visuals! Everyone's as pale as their bed sheets, but I'll let that slide lol I had a real tough time with this one but maybe it'll be different for youEnjoy...

Contrived Disaster!
I was very excited for season two of this series only to be left disappointed on so many levels.Top of the list: I was so angry at Pha for leaving Wayu without an explanation in season one, that, if asked, I would have totally said Thanu was who I wanted for Wayu. I wanted Pha to return and want Wayu back and be denied, but because he'd been a d*ck, NOT because he was terminally ill and trying to shield Wayu from the pain.
I could still have handled it if the reveal to Wayu had been handled better. In short, Wayu and Pha's former relationship was left completely unresolved. They never had that talk they needed to have--not on Pha's deathbed and not even in the last episode at the gravestone. I felt that in that scene Wayu returned a gift that, I suppose, in so doing made him feel able to sleep with Thanu. (Can you hear me rolling my eyes?) Pha should have explained to Wayu why he did what he did. Wayu should have explained to Pha that he understood but his feelings had changed. Instead, he just stated his feelings changed, Pha got depressed, stopped seeing people, and went off his treatment and then died. Wayu saw him minutes before Pha died, Pha asked him to sing to him, and he didn't! What the hell?
Thanu's character got on my nerves. He moves like a slug and acts like Jesus. I got so tired of seeing him standing, so patiently, so lovingly, so forgivingly. Just. Waiting. His almost kisses with Wayu were eventually replaced with the most careful, chaste kisses IN THE WORLD OF BL. (And that's saying a lot.) Which brings me to my second top-most beef.
What in the hell was the point of the plot of Thanu and Phai in season one? I mean, it's all fate and destiny until the producers decide the fans want Wayu with Thanu instead of Pha (but only because they think Pha was being a jerk to Wayu by leaving him without an explanation.) The whole thing was so obviously contrived to keep Thanu and Wayu apart.
Then, we see a glimpse of interest between Sandee and Phai, but that goes absolutely nowhere. (The 3 years Later at the end pretty much assured us of that.) That brings me to my 3rd disappointment.
Evidently the Jack/Koh pairing didn't get very far in the THREE YEARS between their budding relationship and graduation. What a disappointment! They were so promising. I'm assuming there's no Gen Y 3 featuring Sandee/Phai and Jack/Koh. (I'm sure the writers would have ruined it anyway.)
Pok/Tong, thank goodness, got together, but I really wanted more from them. And speaking of more...
This show was supposed to be about Kit and Mark, but the writers kept them away from each other for a good majority of the series in the most stupid, contrived manner. Who needs to PRACTICE being away from each other? DUMB. So dumb. And after Covid, I had no desire to see two people Face-timing.
While the actors are all great and cute as buttons, they couldn't save the series from the fact that the majority of it consisted of the writers keeping the couples away from each other. I have never been so annoyed and disappointed with a series before. In two words, It Sucked.

CRINGE PLOT AND AMATEUR ACTORS
Honestly, I only watch this series for Kit and Mark. Their actings are amazing and their chemistry really makes my heart jumps out of its place. They are so adorable and the fact that they have steamy scene in this series is ? Anyway, I skip a lot of other pairings part cause it is so cringe and their acting really says “Amateurs”. I hate those actors as their acting are sucks and stiff. There’s a huge difference between Copter, Kim and Bas’s acting and the other actors. It literally screams stiff and amateur.Lets talk about the plot, the plot honestly is shitty as fuck. The issue is not that serious and it is much less interesting than S1. I don’t care about other pairings except for Kit and Mark which is quite a small issue but because of both their ego, it has become huge. I can sense that Mark is not that serious about the issue and I feel like the tears are fake cause its not even a huge issue. Wayo and Thanu on the other hand, what can I say about this couple… I hate them actually like its so cringe and the fact that their romance plot is going round and round and that’s it. They shouldn’t bring Pha in the series at all like for fuck sake! I literally sighs out loud when they make Pha’s character dead like??????? Wtf and the fact that wayo just moved on after Pha died like huh???? Shitty plot honestly.
Like I said earlier, I just watch for Copter and Kim and I just hate other couples. Overall, 5/10 and all 5 points goes to Copter and Kim only.

Perhaps its not what you expect
Honestly I was kind of thrilled to hear that there would be a second season because i had watched the first season super late last year... i think i finished it just two months before season 2 would have been released and I was kind of hoping for something really enhance the story line.I was disappointed in the predictability of the episodes because I was expecting there to be more in the story line but its so basic that after the first 4 episodes i wrote out what i think would happen for the rest of the show and I was right.
I think the story between Mark and Kit kind of fell apart after the first season. I was kinda hoping that they would both end up studying abroad or something interesting or engaging but nope they both end up being together in the end in Thailand especially after they separated for literally half of the show (6 episodes). Especially after season 1, i was hoping for more romance to be showed between the characters but i think separating the two characters ruined it.
Wayu and Thanu... okay personally i found this couple to be super boring.... i found myself skipping through those parts of the episodes more often than not. Here again the storyline kinda died off because I was hoping that it would kind of follow the foreshadows that were shown in the first season of Thanu being with Phai (Kit's younger brother) and I personally had hoped that would happen and I was hoping that Pha and Wayu would get back together after Wayu would understand why Pha left him and the story in the first couple of episodes seemed to be pointing that way but that was not the case... Personally, it seemed that that story between the two characters somehow had to be dragged on for 12 episodes which I found unengaging especially because it was super predictable.
I guess the only thing i liked were the juniors and the storyline involving them. I kinda liked the story between Tong and Pok and their misunderstanding was okay and I like how they came back together at the end but i felt that towards the end it was a bit rushed. I also liked the developing relationship between Sandee and Phai and i think it could have been developed more but it was okay as it was.
Overall, if you are watching S2 it may not be what you expect and honestly if I was asked which one i would rewatch, it would probably be S1 because even though the storyline was predictable the acting I think was still better than it was here.
Sorry for all the spoilers and I hope this helps you.!

Painful to watch
Despite my low expectations, I was unprepared for the utter awfulness of Gen Y 2. This offensively dull sequel feels excruciating from start to finish. This was just awlful, I have no words to describe how tedious this was to watch. This series stretches a flimsy plot into eleven longwinded hours of tedious content. Finishing all the episodes has been a painful test of endurance, one that I overcame with rolled eyes, clenched fists, and gritted teeth. I’m proud of myself for not quitting midway, although I came close to falling asleep on occasions.
Watch at your own peril

Interesting Continuation
This series has an interesting start and a good over all storyline, but lacks execution. From the start it was interesting, but then you are introduced to way to many characters at different periods in the life and starts to get confusing and hard to keep up with way to many stories. I have to say I found my self loving the support cast more then the main cast. The actors for the most part are good, but the character development is very lacking with little growth for some and a lot of plot holes that don't really get resolved even with it being the first season. The bad: I have to say I hate the character of Wayu and found him to be the most annoying in the whole series, not sure if it's the way they wrote him or the I am not a fan of the actor but it just felt a annoying whenever he showed up. The supernatural part was a great idea, but horribly done and did not continue throughout the series, that made no sense. The storyline did not always make sense and there were a lot of missing gaps in the story. I was a bit annoyed at Kit character for taking forever in dealing with his feelings and always putting his friends issues first and putting his love life last which made Mark suffer in ways he did not deserve. The worst pairing was Wayu and Thanu, no chemistry and looked bad together. I found my self skipping every most Wayu was in as he bored me and his relationship looked off and was lacking a lot. I wish they kept the supernatural moments more.
The good: I loved Mark, Thanu, Sandee, Phai, Pok and Thong. The liked that the villains are not true villains but people who were really misunderstood by actions. Padbok and Sandee were great bad boys in the own way for different reasons but it worked. Love seeing Tong and Pok and they should have been the main stars for relationship wise. Thanu would have ended up with Phai .. they had a much better chemistry together. I liked that Pok and Thong got more screen time, but they should have been the main couple instead of Wayu and Thanu.

The story ruined it
Talk about Wayu/ThanuLet's be honest noone realy cared for the thanu wayu and pha drama.
And even as a couple they just didnt have an impact on me usualy when i see a couple on screen i happily scream and just wanna keep seeing more of them. But for Thanu and Wayu it felt like i was staring at a brick wall .No emotion just ugh... and i feel like it's a mix of disliking the story and the actors not realy GIVING.
Like i felt that wayu had the same expression the whole series.
THOUGHTS ON OTHER COUPLES/SCREENTIME DEBATE:
it's sad but i wanted to see more MarkKit KohJack and anyone else other than them! But Thanu and Wayu took up most of the screentime... what a shame I'm realy dissapointed in the lack of Jack and Koh scenes they were the couple i enjoyed the most but they had so little screentime.
-Also something realy made me confused to no end, Was ehen Mark found out Kit is probably gonna go study abroad and most of people would probably make the most out of the time they had together, bUT THEY DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE THEY JUST SOCIAL FISTANCED FOR SOME REASON??
-Pok and Tong arguably had the most intresting and intense relationship .
STORY/PRODUCTION TALK:
Now to talk about the story between Wayu/Thanu/Pha
In the first seasonthey inteoduced their drama and i hated it in season 1. But season 2 just got worse and worse the whole love triangle/square just feustrated me to no end.
-if you remember the epiosde when they are at the hospital and Pha's mom walks out and sais that pha is gone but then the gang walks in and starts yalking to him??? That just bad writting
-and the tombstone looks like it's been bought at wallmart
WHY I WAS ANNOYED WITH WAYU:
i dont know if its just me but Wayu was so insecure about his relationship with Thanu. A GODDAMN PICTURE WAS ENOUGH TO IMMEDIATELY THROW OFF YOUR RELATIONSHIP? and okay i kinda get that, but Thanu explained that he and Phai had NOTHING GOING ON, but i dont know why but that was not enough for him so because their relationship kept worsening, even Phai stepped in to help and declared for the 100th time that there was nothing going on but, wayu still didnt trust Thanu! WHAT THE HELL ,WAYU DO YOU NEED A WRITTEN CONTRACT TO TRUST HIM LIKE WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU NEED?
PHAI BEST BOI:
And honestly Phai was the most pitiful person there Phai sacrificed so much just so these idiots could be together, and was so nice to Wayu even when he basicaly stole the love of his life from him . The man was a treasure if it wasn't for him Wayu and Pha wouldn't be together today.#PhaiMVP

NOT REALLY BAD, APPRECIATED
If this series has no so many filler scenes, I think it could only take 6 episodes to sum up all what happened. Why do P'Pha died ?! Maybe thats what I hate the most here, since Wayu has a new Love Team, they just resolved the exsistence of P'Pha by making Him Sick, I really feel sad for Him, aslo If I were Wayu, who realized why P'Pha left is that He is sick, I would never have the courage to replace Him in my heart. Why am I saying this ? Because I watched Wayu since 2 moons, I know His love story with P'Pha, but here we can say the phrase "Just how fast the night changes"
Well, in reality maybe those kind of things happens specially when were hurt, and if the person we found is truly way better than the first one, I cannot blame Him.
Why am I too serious anyways ?! Hahah this is just for enjoyment anyways, my bad.
my Favorite here is Ko and Jack like I am literally shouting on their very very small scenes, I wished they had just gave all the filler scenes to them.
So many scenes that is nit necessary like when the characters are thingking, theyre like giving 10 minutes maybe just that character is whether reminiscing or what .
But I like how they arranged the story, because on season one there are also some absurd events, and gladly they fixed it here, that is what I appreciate here.
Also I hope they also gave a chance for Sandee and Phai , I honestly root for then also here. All in all I appreciate them, I appreciate the ending.

I have some thoughts....
Ok... I loved Gen Y season 1 but I can't watch anymore of S2, its not that it was...bad, I just okay ....I didn't like that they brought back Pha, if they wanted to do the storyline that he was sick, they should've done it in S1 -
Basically start out with Pha and Yu being together then Pha breaks up with him out of the blue, that could be the diagnosis and it was to much for him to hand at the time and then he breaks up with Yo and then the whole S1 could've been like then dealing with Pha's illness and him passing away.
THEN S2 could've introduced the new guy many set " a year later" who basically takes care of Yo due to Pha's dying wish.
like season 2 definitely didn't need Pha brought back honestly. The whole sick storyline In this show was just not for me because I was already fine with Pha not being here for season 1
