Terrible don’t start you will be disappointed

THIS drama had great potential however the delivery fell flat for me. The actors were okay . From thE leads to supporting actors I did not feel they had any chemistry. I have to give it to the evil disciple she nailed her role. I truly felt she was evil and cruel. If you are looking for drama with all the feels and PALACE intrigue this is not it. The 1st kiss is ep36. I never felt like the ML and FL lead were lovers. I was confused that the prince suddenly had feelings for the FL after he found OUT she was female?? I HAVE SEEN OTHER CROSS DRESSING SHOWS and generally you can see a triangle coming from a mile away but this was just sudden. The time hop in the least few episodes was just lazy. It took away from really exploring the dynamics between crown prince and FL after he had denied her the love of her life. Then all of sudden the FL lead is released from the palace and it was as if i was in completely different show with a new story line.I would recommend that you don’t watch. I ended up skipping the last few episodes. I finished only in th hopes that it would getter better but it DIDN’T!!!!

I don’t know how this managed to get a 7.9 on here.

Allen Ren ??

I m here, for Allen Ren Of course? He is gorgeous and easy on the eyes and his acting skills developing excellently.

The story is about love, politics, betrayal, deception, loyalty things like that. I mean the young girl growing up to be a beautiful lady and is actually in love with her so called mentor but forbidden to be together like swoon worthy? However, this potential of a love story didn’t really Shine through. There isn’t much steaminess and sauciness that makes us feel like we re on clouds I like a subtle romance and build up but to me this drama did not execute the romance well. I felt the second male leads desperation and love for Shiyi more than I did for the lead male.

Committing suicide for love is just selfish and a lot of C dramas do this not just this one. You are basically leaving the person you love the most to live a lonely life pining over you.

There’s no kiss, nothing like that. Which is disappointing because I mean a kiss kiss is something so basic to show the viewers that the love that they have for one another is now bound for forever. The note he gave because he dies didn’t even I love you or something like..... he just let her be married and act all sad about it on the outside.
.

The acting sure was alright. Story has potential but actual overall disappointing didn’t meet my expectations. I did skimmed through the latter half lol f the drama because of this. The writer and directors did not give me anything to be more invested in the show. The actors did the beat they could with what they were given.

Please watch it for yourself however definitely not rewatching even if Allen Ren looked amazing.

Typical fluffy trope

This show is pretty much boss and me 2014 reincarnated. Han Zhang plays CEO very well and he did not disappoint in this one. He is one of my favourite actors because he always manages to create chemistry with the FL. I also liked the FL and loved her tenacity and passion. The romance scenes were amazing and one thing that I like is that you don’t get those dead fish kisses, its passion. If he missed her you felt it. Kudos for his acting. This is good show to watch if you are looking for fluffy romance and no complicated twists and plots. It’s not a new story but it was somewhat enjoyable if you ignored the below.

1- France and stalkers storyline- this was absurd and probably used as filler to make 45 episodes.
2-Too long it did not need 45 episodes to tell this story
3- The strange storyline about ML’s almost wedding. Like how is this something to fall out over?
4-typical supporting FL who appear to have this thing about one sided love. It’s as if in China its a ‘I WiLL make you love and even if you don’t i will spend forever with to keep trying’. I hate this because a lot of C dramas use this .
5 unrealistic messy

STEP BY STEP TO HELL….annoying Pat

Okay so i was really looking forward to this series because i loved lovely writer i thought Deehup will produce another banger. I was sorely disappointed, the trailer is misleading because i thought i was going to be in for a thrilling ride.

What i got was a lacklustre story, poor acting from Ben, i actually remember lol when he was squeezing his eyes hoping tears would come which never did. Daddy Jeng kept me going for a while but even he couldn’t keep me on this. I dropped it at after ep9. I couldn't stomach another 3 hours of this train wreck.

It’s a shame because i can see that the series had potential but just was poorly executed.

My favourite things about the show
-Daddy Jeng doing push ups and cooking.
-good cinematography on occasion
-Jeng and Jaab’s sibling relationship

What I hated
- Poor story telling
-Poor acting from Pat
- Pat was just an annoying character dunno if it is the way he was written or because of his acting my guess is its both.

Not sure about the end or whether i will go back and finish it.

Update. I have gone and finished it and to be honest I wasted my time. It was an awfully executed ending. Jeng again doing well with his acting, I couldn’t tell this was his first project.

Watch at your own risk ⚠️

This show was amazing. Enjoyed the realistic relationships between all the characters. Its a must watch With great pacing. It’s short so don’t expect all aspects of the web series to be explored however the drama did well to touch on a the issues that affected the characters.

The show was beautifully shot. It explores the subject matter from many angles form the victim and participants. It also looked at wider issues that affect people’s decision making.

I loved Dan Hee who was like a quiet pillar somehow just present and strong ?. I would recommend this show and would defiantly re watch it.

Story had potential

This show had potential but even my love for Sandra Ma could not keep me watching it . I see why others love it but it fell flat for me somewhere in the middle. The romance was initially cute and i love the ML &FL together however the romance was too slow for me. It’s the themes in some dramas that couples don’t stay together or have passion its all innocent however we are very much melenials and having been to china I know the reality is they are not as conservative as they make these drama’s to be. We have a doctor and policeman who may have spent most of their time in their respective careers so had no time for love but i feel that this ouch have been developed more in them both learning about relationships and love together. I was often confused by how direct ML and FL are in all other areas of their lives but were not able to do so in their relationship.
THE chief of neurology was ace i loved his character. Some of the medical cases were interesting.

IThe other thing that let them Down was the fact that they could have used more of the action storyline that they started with. IT FELT LIKE THAT WAS DROPPED SOMEWHERE and the focus became side characters who didn’t bring g the story forward. By the the time i dropped this show i was asking myself what is the story about and where is it going . THEY SUDDENLY INTRODUCED a weirded triangle... some of the secondary characters were boring .

OST was good.
I would not rewatch

What a Gem!!!

This show is amazing i have no words. Don’t be put off by the first couple of episodes and stick with it because you wont regret it. This show touches on everything and love it for doing so.

Gender sensitivity, promoting safe sex (Durex product placement, anyone?), showing different sides of the queer spectrum. Friendships, insecurities all the things that we go through. The one thing I loved most about this GEM of a show is that the ML were complete opposites in terms of societal pairings (Toh the weirdo geeky guy and Nuea the Hunk and popular guy) but this show managed to put them on equal footing while dealing with some of the relationship issues that we all go through.

I also loved how Toh and the gang would often directly interact the with audience by looking directly at us. I think they did that really well.. the older cast played their roles really well … i am just so impressed with this show.

This seemingly little show that came out of nowhere has managed to make us laugh out loud, scream our lungs out, cringe, get the fuzzies, cry and take us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions every single week while managing to highlight all these relevant themes as well. We love you and thank you, SCOY! ❤️❤️❤️. The team truly put a brilliant show together from actors to production to locations.

Wow- Just a ridiculous

So I started watching this drama thinking well another slice of life drama with some life lessons boy was I disappointed.
Story- The story had potential but was poorly progressed. I don’t understand why there were so many fights that were resolved quickly. The issue for me is the fact that these were very serious relationship shattering issues that rock the core fundamentals of relationships things like trust, family etc where seemingly resolved by a quick conversation and everything is okay the next day.

There was no chemistry at all from qiyue and jiaming I don’t know who cast these two. The relationship triangle between the three main leads was never really explored. It was clear who fell in love with who at the beginning but some 30 episodes in its not ever fully explored or resolved. I loved the relationship between Asheng and jiyue. I thought they had chemistry again it never really progressed from sibling relationship to actual romance.

I had to skip several episodes of this long drawn out poorly written drama.
I cant fault the acting from some of the characters but it was just not enough to keep me engaged. A lot of reviews spoke about the never ending sadness that Ansheng had to go through but that for me was never the issue because there are people who seem to never catch a break it was just how it was developed.

I would not recommend a rewatch. Terrible in my opinion if you want to waste 53 hrs of your life please watch.

Painful to watch

Despite my low expectations, I was unprepared for the utter awfulness of Gen Y 2. This offensively dull sequel feels excruciating from start to finish. This was just awlful, I have no words to describe how tedious this was to watch.

This series stretches a flimsy plot into eleven longwinded hours of tedious content. Finishing all the episodes has been a painful test of endurance, one that I overcame with rolled eyes, clenched fists, and gritted teeth. I’m proud of myself for not quitting midway, although I came close to falling asleep on occasions.

Watch at your own peril

The chemistry is just wow ???

I love it ?. This I what good actors, chemistry and editing can give you. There were a lot of things that I felt were not exactly right with this show however all those things were not deal breakers for me due to the way the good acting and chemistry.

I WILL BREAK DOWN WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
-I still till now don’t know why Tharn liked Type.
-Types Trauma was not really dealt with and it felt a bit jarring from him disclosing he was sexually abused to him asking for anal sex as we are not clear on the time line outside of the fact they had been living together for a semester.
-the fact that we did not get any justice regarding Tar. sexual violence is very real and it helps to really explore and also get some closure around this. I don’t think that this should have been fluffed out but actually explore both sides for the victim and the perpetrator.
-Thorn relationship with san, I don’t get how he could have been okay with his friend sleeping with his brother at such a young age.
WHAT I LIKED
- Type and Tharns chemistry was off the charts
-The steamy sex scenes were refreshing they gave enough to let my imagination run riot.
-The friendships that Type had were endearing… he was a loveable grumpy person
-Type’s eyes are so expressive i loved this as they showed all the emotion, his body language was great too.
-Tharn’s Family and Types as were quite realistic on showing both sides of what you can get when coming out.
-TYPES character development.
Good OST

DESPITE the issues i loved this drama and have rewatched it mainly because Tharn and Types relationship was shot so beautifully. Type’s character development can be seen in how he is in the relationship but I was so happy that he remained the sarcastic, blunt and rude type who is really a softy. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Wow- wonderful BL coming of age drama

This is a coming of age BL web series. I loved it. It had everything from the family drama, friendship issues, romance, discovering who you are and what you like. The relationship between Ye Linzi and his dad awww. The friendly reminder that being rich is not everything but having wonderful people who can warm your heart ?.

I especially loved the relationship between Gu Hai and Ye Linzi.

The contrasting ways they showed affection. Gu Hai was more extrovert in his adnavances but with YeLinze he was subtle and showed how much he loved Gu Hai in his actions. It was sweet to see him be the more vocal and express his feelings. I especially liked the way he was worried when he was waiting for Gauhai in ep 15. He woke up and Gu was not there and braved the cold to wait for him outside so he could catch the first glimpse of him returning. Awww there were so many heart warming moments in this drama.

The character development and acting was really good. This was about two young men who fell in love. Soundtrack was okay. Rewatch - Definitely. It’s short and sweet and does not drag which is very common in Chinese drama’s as they tend to be between 24 and 60 episodes. This was just the right pacing for this story.

Season 2 please come so we can explore the other blooming romance the drama with the parents when they find it etc.

Lost of eye candy !!

This show was great loved the majority of it. Great screen, wonderfully cinematography, great actors and acting. It blew me away the first half of the show, however as the show wore on, there were plot holes, there was repetitive and filler episodes. It’s hard to Carry 59 episodes all through however they did make a great attempt.

The tragedy that was their love story had a happy ending. I felt like some of the romances were not fully explored, some characters were under developed. Nonetheless it was great and its a must watch. I can’t lie I skipped some episodes in the middle and forwarded some towards the end due to the poor writing but overall it was worth the watch. Chen Yi is so handsome and he portrayed his characters really well.

What I didnt like, the finale battle was stupid and did not leave the satisfaction i was hoping for. The Heavenly Emperor seemed useless and let King Bailing do what ever he wanted for years with his knowledge.
The lesson was a good one though that ultimately demons are what are inside use and the choices we make will lead to either positive or negative effect so we need to mindful and respectful of others.

Started off so well

This drama started of really well and then somehow it lost the plot and the episodes became draggy, plot was not making sense and characters were suddenly going in a different trajectory. All in all it was a mess. I liked the actors I think they did what they could with the Plot. There was a lot of repeated outfits at times It felt like they were wearing the same clothes for days.

The story was poor developed- this could have easily been 24 episode story rather than drag it on for 36.
I don’t know why people need self sacrifice for people to realise that the other loves them. I have this trait. Someone has to die or nearly be killed for th either.

Overall its okay to watch the soundtrack was forgettable.

Very good looking actors so this made it easy on the eye but that can only get you so far.

Some good romance scenes. I have to say a lot of Chinese dramas now do see the value of skinship and proper kisses.

Best crime drama

This was a good drama. It was fresh different and engaging. I loved the focus on crime solving, the cast were great and kept you engaged. the story did not deviate or have some long draggy scenes everything was tightly connected and had purpose. I loved the bad guys as much as the good guys. .Great friendships and bromance with no ridiculous triangles smart characters who were developed meticulously. It was beautifully done. This is one of those gems that made 36 episodes look easy to watch.

What didn’t like was the rushed ending i thought they could have tied up the other characters romance and stories a bit more. the lack of chemistry between the main leads although i liked them i didn’t buy the romance part of it , the fact there was no real kiss in 36 episodes i hardly think an almost kiss and mouth to mouth is a kiss. all in all it was a great watch, would I rewatch probably not.

Strange three way relationship with a bear

I have managed to binge watch the series. I am in two minds about it. I liked that it was different took me through different emotions. Touched on a lot of issues within family like sexuality, jealousy, anger and trauma. It was a good effort. I know a lot of people don’t like the ending at least there is mixed reviews about it but i found the ending fitting is some ways and weird and strange in others. The strong feeling being weird. To be frank its almost as though it ended with a three way relationship between Tarn, Nut and Tofu the teddy bear.

WHAT I DDINT LIKE-
- Nut and how he was as a son to his mum. His mother was clearly ill but he had no regard and treated her harshly through most of the series. Pretty much ignored her.
-His treatment of Tofu, Tofu was used as physical and emotional punching bag and it did nt change through the whole series . I found this disturbing, its clear he had issues but all he did was lash out.
-The lack of consequences for the guilty parties is ridiculous.
- No real explanation on how on earth Tofu looked like Neung?? I mean come on.
- WHY DID WE HAVE TO HAVE LESBIAN RELATIONSHIP JUST THROWN IN THERE??

Would i rewatch- nope. Is it work investing 16 x1.5hrs of my life somewhat, OST unmemorable
