workplace romance, grumpy/sunshine pair, love triangle
This one was cute but it’s also the first Korean BL where I really felt like the characters were being seriously ill served by the length. (Usually with Korea’s BLs it’s story/plot that suffers the shorter runtime.) These boys just didn’t have much oomf to them.Essentially this was a sweet and fluffy story of a willing and eager sunshine boy saving a grumpy chef from himself which featured an unnecessary love triangle that was too underdeveloped for the amount of angst that resulted. On the bright side, everyone was VERY pretty. And that was a very bright side indeed.
Did I enjoy it? Hell yes, they beautiful! Did it have any substance to it beyond the pretty? Not even slightly. Do we want more than that? Ya know? Sometimes... no, no we don’t.

Vanilla ice cream
This is a good series. The actors work well, the soundtrack it's ok, the rewatch value it's good too (but only if you don't have too many things to watch. but the story......... I feel like Koreans are going around circles when talking about the format of the series. I feel like I'm watching a poor mix version of Where your eyes are lingering, Mr Heart, Wish you and Light on me. I bet this story could be better if they explore more. They are playing safe and It's kinda boring. They have a lot of good points at work. Like the relationship of the other couple, the life of the ''''Vilain, friend''', the main role story, if they continue to do series with this format will be more and more boring, please take a hint and do more interesting BL series. I mean..... wtf? They do a lot of good music, good music videos and the series It's like vanilla ice cream. you can like it but you will not eat again two times a week. Was this review helpful to you?
This turned out really cute
The short episode format sometimes limits plot and character development, but I thought they did a really good job on this.It started out a little slow and seemed a little too focused on being pretty to me, but I did feel they managed to develop two likeable main characters, and show both their conflict and their attraction.
The supporting characters didn't really develop much, and that was a bit of a drag on some of the interpersonal conflict themes, but as a romance series it did a fine job.

Soft but very endearing
There is something so endearing about this series. It is short, sweet, and entertaining. I think others are turned off by its non-dynamic story of love. It is simply not an in your face saga but one with a slow burn and a flash of inevitability about it. I like it a lot and lets face it, it has some of the most beautiful ensemble of men starring in it on the planet. That is really not the story but it certainly enhances it. The message at the end is composed of true friendship over a possible momentary lustful encounter. You can read my full review of this quiet soft-spoken BL series at BLBliss.com.

Shoddy and chagrin ending
Since when korea started produce such lamentable BL series, starts with promising outcome but ends with biggest disaster. First 3 episode were good enough but last those 5 episode gives u headache. A boys leaves his home to make better future, suddenly meet a guy with whom he fall for that guy. A triangle love story without proper script.Idk what is bl series to others but i want bl series with lots of deep main and side story with lots of romance. This basic story have nothing not even a proper romance. Anyone can guess whats going to happen. Leave romance u cannot even feel bromance between lead character, they don't have any connection which makes us feel they are couple. We can't even feel where the story is going, how this is going end, such a shabby story.
Even though u can't feel the connection between couple in terms of acting they are average, seriously second male lead have better facial expressions than lead actor. Nothing is good. Only good point is cinematography. Shabby story, expression less acting and boring disaster ending. I don't even want to remember this series.
I can say this is total disappointment from my side. After watching light on me I can't feel any other korean bl series going to take that legacy of light on me. Seriously we need different kind of serious story if anyone want to make bl series.

It was good
Y'all It's a mini-series stop bashing it for not having an intense plot. What else do you expect. It was good enough for a quick binge. It had nice locations and an aesthetic vibe. The actors were really great fits for their roles. All of them were damn pretty. And the mwin leads had proper chemistry.
It was not overdone or cringy.
And even though it was not that intense it was not boring either. The actors did a great job for their first drama. I'm really excited for the movie. Hope it will give us some more answers and fulfill the tiny holes the series left in us. Also can they let the ship of those other two waiters sail too. They'd seriously make a pretty good second lead couple.
Overall it was great. The story was stress free and fun to watch. They had great chemistry. The story was fun. Go watch it if You're in for a quick binge and support the actors for their good job instead of saying stupid things about their first project. Lets appreciate their hardwork yeah?

It was fine
It was fine...The story was fine.
The acting was fine.
The plot was fine.
The characters were fine.
The supporting characters were fine.
The premis of the show was fine.
The climax of the show was fine.
The first episode was fine.
The finale was fine.
It wasn't boring but neither was it that good or interesting. It was really just fine. I would never rewatch this but I do not regret watching it. It kept me preoccupied while watching.
The movie is slightly better than the series but generally it was fine.

Easy watch
For me this was such a good palate cleanser when I felt depressed.I watched the movie version, but it was really easy to watch for me personally.
It's almost kind of like a hallmark movie, but with less conflict. Not much really happened other than the love triangle in the last half, but it was nice to tune out too. The only not so realistic thing perhaps is how someone who never has cooked a day in his life, cooks for this restaurant.
But hey, it did what it needed to do which is to distract me, so I’m not even complaining.

Short but could have been better
So after seeing the preview of this drama, I honestly thought this was going to be a really Wow drama, but Nope all I got was a short drama with 8 episodes and each 10 minute long which for me was a real disappointment. The story was just boring. Nothing happened. In the span of 8 episodes, not a single thing happened. The whole show can be boiled down to this: a new guy joins a restaurant and creates an overly dramatic love triangle that would never happen in real life.
There is literally nothing for me to say about this drama, accept the music was not so bad, and he sort of went well with scenes however they could have expanded on the story and made it a bit more realistic, it definitely had so much potential, but it just felt like so false and boring.
The actors were not so bad, so there is that, but again they charcters lacked growth and chemistry. The whole love triangle was there, but what got me so annoyed was the confession and the guy didn't correct any of the misunderstanding that happened to the friendship, which may I add was 15 years, that to me came across like he was playing both friends against each other.
Overall: basically just watch this drama if you have nothing better to do and need to kill time.

Captivating visual with fine acting delivery but needed more duration time
The first thing that really got everyone's attention is how good looking the leads are. I'm not complaining since Korea were known for emphasizing beauty as a standard for the camera appeal. But the good thing is, given the handsome faces they had, they know how to executed the emotions needed in every scene. Due to this, it already been a well love series by many. But the most important element of every film is the flow of the story. I guess for a 11 min duration with 8 episodes, they manage to connect every scenes in one fitting. But obviously they're some scenes that needed more time to be explained or tackled. How do their love for each other blossom? What was the exact background or past of the guy? Where do the relationship of the two extra guys headed to? (since the drama itself gives us some clue or interpretation of a possible romance between them.) How do the second lead cope up with the atmosphere, did he finally manage to move on? We need more closure to the ending. There are several cringe scenarios that I can't help but to giggle about. On the first episode the typical "I'm going to save you from falling, I'll catch you in my arms" was so typical. They should altered it with a fresh new ideas or something that will be either romantic or comedic. Another consecutives cringeness scene was the "hand sign photo capture," I knew Korea loves that kind of gestures but it was too childish for me. Speaking of childish, the fight scene between the two best friends was so immature. Okay, sometimes people tend to do things based on their emotions despite of how old they became.
I feel sad for the second lead, he's so cute but you can't really force someone to feel the same way as you especially when it comes to love.
I was shocked that he is so young, he's character was full of sex appeal and I'm thinking that he is much more older than his real age. On the other hand, I was happy that I get the chemistry of the main couple. Another soft-mysterious guy relationship. Aside from cooking, seeing the main guy in a Taekwando uniform is so sexy! The dishes was literally yummy, I mean the menu from their business. I like how they presented the meal in an IG worthy vibes, really presentable.
I was so into the music as well. A great one to add color to the show. It was so lovely and at the same time its pop my mood up, perfect song for the show.
The major fall back of the drama is the length of time they given to the story. I keep thinking of many possible things that might be added to the story. But anyways it was a good and cute mini-series. I am contended on how it is. Fluffy and majestic!

One of the most overrated South Korean BLs
There's the promise of a good premise: handsome yet moody chef with an unhappy past meets a bright-eyed college student who comes to work during the holidays.Beautiful set design, check. Interesting premise involving a rooftop restaurant, aloof head chef and handsome staff? Check, check and check.
So why did it fail so miserably? In a show filled with flat characters, only Eunkyu had a vaguely interesting character arc. However, his story was so underbaked, leaving me to wonder why they bothered with it at all. The conflicts and tensions in the series (love triangle + the souring of a 15-year friendship) were also poorly chosen, bordering on illogical.
It’s as though they gave up on good writing and went, "hey let’s just put a lot of good-looking guys and make two of them kiss, this series is gonna sell for sure!!"
South Korean BLs are often not meant to have in-depth plot development due to the short runtime. But that’s no excuse for poor writing. If you only have 8 episodes, you better make it count with purposeful storytelling and a narrative that doesn’t have overly complex demands.

Can't Complain
Looking for some light BL? LOOK NO FURTHER! Classic BL K-Drama is always something short, sweet and to the point. Which is nice but let's face it.... Korean BL needs to make their BL longer lol ANYWAYThis show was a little basic with the triangle theme but I overall still liked it. It had some super cute and blushing moments and I'd recommend to someone wanting something light and fluffy, with enough romance to show it's still BL. This definitely isn't my favourite Korean BL so I'm fine without a S2 but it looks like there's gonna be a movie.
*There's visuals for miles (obvious bonus)
Enjoy...
