I don't usually watch Taiwanese dramas but when I do, I tend to choose well.
This drama is one of those that captured me from the start. I've got to tell you that the 1st episode is a masterpiece; it was well done in many ways, i believe it was one of the greatest 1st episodes that I've ever seen and the reason that made me proceed with the rest of the drama.
The story was cool, somehow unique containing a good cast and great supporting roles.
There were many changes in the drama's storyline which made it more interesting.
Fated to love you is one of those dramas that you have to like from the 1st episode or simply drop it because events are so attached.
Just watch the 1st episode and see with yourself.

This drama had me hooked from the very first episode. I finished the entire drama in about 2 days.

Story: The story is your typical rom-com, except in this one the guy is more gentle and kind. He does have a bit of a mean side but it's usually won over by his sweet and gentle side. At first I was turned off by the main female due to her lack of confidence, but I liked how she did change which made me like her and the story more. This drama made me dislike the second female lead, which meant it did its job, but it also did do a good job in portraying her in a sympathetic light for her own story. I loved the second male lead, and I wanted to marry him, but even though I liked the second male lead, I still found there was more chemistry between the main leads. Some side stories were a bit too over dramatic and a bit annoying but a lot of them were interesting which I enjoyed. I just felt that the plot about Dylan's sister was just a bit too unbelieving.

Acting: The acting was great! I believed all the character's emotions and I got sucked into it. The only part it dragged off on was the last few episodes where Cun Xi had to act fake and lie, I felt his acting was a bit too overdone. But overall the acting was awesome!!

Music: I think the music was good and matched very well. There were some parts where the music was a bit too dramatic but overall well done.

Re-watch: I loved this drama so much that I right now I kinda wish that I didn't speed through it and I had watched at a good pace. This is a drama I will definitely watch again when I'm bored and have no dramas to watch.

Overall: It is rated an 8, because even though I loved loved loved the story, at the end I had to fast forward through chunks of it to get to the good parts. When I fast forwarded through I found that I could still understand what was going on which indicated that those parts were a bit unnecessary and could have been taken out or have had less screen time.

I tried to watch it thrice last year but gave up each time due to bad picture quality. Finally found a decent print on YouTube and I swear I was glued! :) Everything about this drama was perfect - A beautiful story of love and fate. And the fact that it was hilarious - icing to the cake. Hehe. Xin Yi kept getting more and more pretty with each episode. I really liked her character and the transformations she went through throughout the drama.

Cun Xi was pretty annoying in the beginning. I mean, obviously his heart was at the right place more or less. But when he asked her to leave after giving birth I wanted to slap him! I mean, how can a mother (especially someone as gentle as Xin Yi) give up her baby without dying a little each second? I liked his character more after ep 12. As for Dylan, I really really really liked him in the beginning. But after they left for Shanghai (ep 12?) - Bleh. He just got annoying. EPISODE 12 T-T It was so sad! I dare you to watch it without crying! Seriously! EPISODE 12. The reason I still can't get myself to like Anna. I'm sorry.Generally I do believe in giving second chances to evil characters ( I DO I DO XD). But what she did pissed me too much. So even if the whole world is ready to accept her reasons for what she did (including Cun Xi and Xin Yi)- I CANNOT.

So, basically, Xin Yi and Cun Xi end up sleeping together because she thinks he's her cheating boyfriend and he thinks she's Anna. Now I know it sounds kinda ridiculous but he's so horny (long story) and she's so dizzy and it's dark. So yeah...after they're done he's like "Gu Chi?" and she's like, "Who's Anna?" and then lights on and TA-DA! BAHAHAHAHA XD XD

On top of everything she becomes pregnant with his child while he's still in love with Anna who (in short) is a selfish Beeaach. They decide to keep the baby and not get it aborted while the supercool grandma somehow manages to get them married. And then Cun Xi drops the bomband tells her to leave after giving birth and that Anna could be the mom to the child -.- But they keep getting closer and closer and now Cun Xi becomes conflicted about his feelings. Then comes ep 12. Honestly, I never expected the story to turn out this way. It really surpassed my expectations. Really nice story.

I liked this drama, mainly because of all the chemistry and the humour between the main characters, Ji Cun Xi and Chen Xin Yi. I thought at first that it was really funny and that Chen Xin Yi was really cute and silly and that Ji Cun Xi was really HOT and amazing.

I hated Xin Yi's ex-boyfriend. I hate people like that anyway, whether they're in the drama's or in real life. The character playing her ex-boyfriend did a good job in getting people to hate him.

I cried so much while watching this and laughed just as much. I'm speechless as to what I should write about this drama. It hurt to watch everything that was happening with Chen Xin Yi but I guess Ji Cun Xi and Chen Xin Yi were really made for each other, and I couldn't have wished for any better ending :D

Watch it!!

One of my all time favorites! This is pretty unique for a Taiwanese drama because it's a bit controversial, and that's part of what makes it so good. It is easy to watch, romantic, and funny. There are parts of this drama that will just jerk at your heart strings. The actors also do a very good job, even the supporting. I loved the beginning, middle, and end (yes I LOVED the end!) It's definately not a typical love story. The two both progress really well as characters. The music is also very cute and goes well with the theme of the drama.

The one thing I did not like was that when the new episodes were added, it was a bit slow. He also at one point said that a woman is pregnant for 10 months (it's 9...)

If it wasn't so long, I would probably rewatch it. A must watch for every drama fan!

I actually watched this drama a few years back (maybe 2008) so you must be wondering why I am writing the review now, we'll I was just bored in bed thinking of my favorite dramas and this was one of the first that came to mind. Fated to love you was one of he first dramas I ever watched and the first one to ever make me cry. With that said you should know that I am not a cryer and I don't mean a few tears but ugly crying for a long time. It had a really nice story/plot there was no dull moment. It had a good rhythm and a nice pace to it. The main story was really interesting but it wasn't the only good story the other characters stories were really intriguing.

The cast was amazing I liked all of the characters, they had good chemistry among all of them. It wasn't just the main couple who had great chemistry but the other couples too. The female leads family was so adorable and funny (it reminded me of my family). I loved the grandma she was just awesome. The rivals in love did a good job in been likable without stealing the spotlight (which happens often), the main leads really stood their ground and delivered. They were some good actors, they showed great chemistry and skills.

When it comes to music I don't quite remember all of the songs but there is one song that to the day, almost 5 years later, is still one of my favorite songs of all time. I can't remember the name but this one song was hypnotizing. I hummed that song for one year straight I couldn't get it out of my head. I know it wasn't bad music because I remember very well the things that I don't like and I don't remember much about the music except for that song.

I've never rewatched this drama, I usually rewatch, but the reason is because I don't like crying and I know this drama will make one cry. Also because the dramas that I rewatch I usually scan through but ii just can't do that with this drama. But ii do think about Watching it again every once in a while.

Overall it is one of my favorite dramas of all time, good acting and great story. For some who are hardcore Taiwan drama lovers like I am, this drama may seem like your classic Taiwanese drama t first but it really isn't. The ways you connect with the female lead is like no other, I am sure you will enjoy it. This starts out to be a quite sad but it gets better and better as the female lead changes. I recommend it to all!!!!!

Fated to Love You starts off as a romantic comedy, takes a majorly dramatic turn, then devolves into silliness.

At 24 episodes, it's just too long.

I couldn't wait to go to the next episode through the first half. I found myself rooting for Chen Xin Yi to stand up for herself. I cried during the really dramatic parts. I wanted to punch Ji Cun Xi through the TV for being such a jerk.

During the second half, I'd have to force myself to move forward sometimes when everything happened so predictably in an unoriginal way. While I rooted for Chen Xin Yi in the first half, I couldn't get behind her in the second half. Ji Cun Xi did change... from jerk to stupid. I also thought that they dropped the ball on some external nemeses that were set up in the first half.

In the end, I didn't really care if they ever got together. I would have preferred that she pick Dylan, though I didn't feel that he was developed enough for me to really care about him either. I just felt that Xin Yi spent enough time with him that she should have given him a chance.

I did like the cast, especially the secondary cast. I loved Xin Yi's family and thought that all the actors had great comic timing.

Truthfully, I only remember one song, Wo de Kuai Le, from the whole drama because I tend to skip intros and previews. It was one that I thought was cheesy at first but I grew to really like it as time went on.

Even though I liked Fated to Love You, I don't think I'd ever watch it again. The biggest reason is that the show was just way too long with uneven story-telling. When it was dramatic, it was so dramatic. When it was comedy, it was practically slap-stick. There was rarely a good mix of the two. I did like the general plot for the drama, though, so I will probably watch the upcoming Korean remake with the hope that they will cut a lot of the unnecessary junk and make it shorter.

First of all, I wasn't expecting a steamy love scene in episode 2. Secondly, I wasn't expecting said love scene to make me laugh my butt off from all the not-so-subtle imagery of rockets and trains and tunnels and jets....

I've watched enough TW dramas to have fairly low expectations when I start a new one. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. At first, I didn't like Chen Xin Yi's mom and sisters, but eventually their rapid-fire "discussions" became hilarious. Ji Cun Xi's granny was also funny and I really liked her. I thought the acting was, for the most part, really good and the OTP had great chemistry.

Unfortunately, about 2/3 of the way into the drama, I'd had enough of Anna and I really wanted to just shoot her through my computer screen. Somewhere around the last 2-3 episodes, I wanted to shoot the writer of the series, because it was definitely, absolutely, being dragged out waaaaaaaaay too long, to the point where I was just plain annoyed that the show wasn't over yet. Get to the happy-ever-after ending already! Geez!

Overall, I don't have the patience to re-watch the entire drama, but I'll probably re-visit my favorite scenes from time to time.

The BEST version!!!

It's funny how I watched all the other versions first before the original one, and I must say, hands down that THIS is the BEST one!

I must confessed tho that I came here after watching the ML in The Legend of Fuyao. I fell in love with his character and acting in that cdrama and was anticipating his worst acting in this one since this is his old drama. Oh boy!!! I was wrong, so wrong, dang! Ethan is pure talent! I laughed and cry with his character. All actors here did a very good job. I haven't seen some of them in my present cdramas, the only one I have seen was Bruce Chen in Autumn Concerto and I say he's a very good actor. I hated him so much in AC but in this drama I laughed so hard and love his character, lol.

The story is a bit long but still worth it. Everyone gets their proper closure - from the main to the side characters. You will sometimes feel so frustrated that you wanted to grabbed the character from your laptop, lol Let me tell you, that it's okay, it's part of their character development. So just sit back and relax, enjoy the ride and be patient coz you will get a VERY happy ending.

Also, both side of the ML and FL's family were very supportive and will do what they feel what's best for their loved ones. The ML's bestfriend/secretary, Anson was hilarious!!!! And grandma was so adorable!

Overall, this is far from being perfect but will give you all the feels, you will cry and laugh will the characters and will make you realised some life choices can either lead you to be lonely or completely happy in life, it's your call. :)

Happy watching!!!!!

This drama was pretty hilarious throughout. Its one of those overdone comedies, with the odd characters and the male and female leads doing some pretty outrageous things, like the male lead pretending to get beaten to gain sympathy from the female lead.

Its the type of stuff I've come to expect from Taiwanese dramas, which I don't really watch too often. But I like it.

The most memorable to me was that cleverly portrayed sex scene (no I'm not that perverted...ok yes I am) in the first episode of the show (way to start it off right?) where they get drunk and somehow mistakenly end up in the same room and sleep together. From the water jets, to the shower of rose petals to the train backing in and out of the tunnel, it was perverse but funny all at the same time.

The drama just keeps going from there. The whole thing has these obviously portrayed sexual overtones, but they're put in a way that really make you laugh and that's really what its all about I guess.

And I love the fact that the drama also really portrays the other emotions, like sympathy, and jealousy in a way that isn't overdone and feels believable.

Its an interesting story portrayed in a really entertaining way. It has the romance, the comedy, the suspense and overall its a good watch.

It tries to tell a good story, but loses it's charm with too many diversions and loopholes along the way.

The first episode wasn't all that promising, with it's stereotyped good hearted, naive girl and arrogant male leads. But into the second episode, we start to see that the female lead isn't just another stupid/naive girl. Her character comes across as a very sincere and simple, albeit unconfident and adds very much to the charm of the drama.

There is plenty of exaggeration in the acting and diversions in story line. I got along fine till about the 15th episode, when the plot felt too forced and became annoying. I felt that this drama could've been neatly wrapped up in 16 episodes at most without twisting and turning the characters so much.

The story was good and the 'fate' between the couple was clear throughout. There was also something charming and interesting about the characters in the drama, which unfortunately got lost towards the last segment of the drama. I would have liked it more otherwise.

The actors were good, especially the female lead. I liked the music. It gave the right feeling for the scenes. I wouldn't re-watch this again, as there wasn't anything to watch a second time.

I technically didn't watch the last 5-6 episodes as I skipped to the last one, but I felt I didn't really need to.

The story was ok for first 13-14 episodes, a couple of draggy episodes in that group, and then it dragged like crazy until the last ep hence why I skipped them (I admit I'm curious about how a couple things got resolved, but I need a break from this drama before watching those ep's).

Acting and music were fine, but nothing exceptional. Rewatch value was a 4 only because, while I thought it was overall a fine drama there are definately better ones to rewatch out there.
