GAY GAY GAY
Skynani never fails to amaze me. I know this isn’t a BL but I swear to god it’s more romantic and deep than the majority of BLs atm, for me at least. Like, leaving the obvious plot aside, I MEAN SOULMATEEEESSS !! But their acting and chemistry is just on another level. Sky looks at Nani like it’s the only thing he sees and vice versa. I just love them so fucking much 🥹If you love supernatural things, this series is straight-up made for you. But even if you don’t usually go for fantasy, the way it wraps all that crazy world-building around the most devastatingly beautiful partnership between Pete (Nani) and Niran (Sky) will have you hooked from episode one.
The plot itself is addictive as hell. Every episode escalates and the action is actually well-choreographed and exciting (those fight scenes hit different when you’re emotionally invested in the two leads protecting each other). The mystery keeps twisting. But none of it would work without the emotional core, and that core is 100% SkyNani.
Also the eye contact in this series should be studied in acting schools. The protective touches. The way they are risking everything for one another without ever needing to say the obvious out loud. Like I don't even need a love confession. I KNOW THEY ARE MARRIED!!! They are one soul, and they even gave us an actual OST called “We Are One” sung by Sky and Nani themselves in the later episodes. GMMTV knew exactly what they were doing and I’m grateful.
LIKE SOUL BINDING SCENE?? HELLOOO???
What makes this hit harder than most BLs for me is how deep the emotional intimacy goes without needing labels or typical romance tropes. Their bond is built on mutual reliance, sacrifice, seeing each other at their absolute worst and choosing to stay anyway. Pete’s growth from this angry, unlucky guy who thinks he’s cursed to someone who learns to wield his power and fight for others is really beautiful.
And the found family vibes with Team Wu is pretty immaculate. The side characters add so much flavor and stakes without ever stealing focus from the main duo. I LOVE THE TRANS REPRESENTATION.
Anyway, end point is:
Skynani stans, we won. Again. After High School Frenemy already proved they have insane chemistry, Wu took it to a whole new dimension. I was already obsessed with them, now I am straight up in love. 🫶😭💖

I am absolutely SPEECHLESS
I didn’t have high hopes for this at all. I’m not even that into bromances usually, but this is just on a whole different level. It’s not just a show, it’s literally ART. The quality and the vibes just blew me away and I’m officially obsessed.I’m so glad I gave it a chance because it’s a total gem. The chemistry is insane… seriously, if this was a full BL it would be the absolute PEAK of the genre, no doubt about it. 10/10 for me so far. If you're looking for something that actually feels high-quality and keeps you hooked from the first minute, this is it. Don't even think about it, just watch it! I’m still processing how good this was

Underwhelming
I was so psyched for this series! it looked super cool, interesting story and above all SKY and Nani! omg their chemistry is so freaking good that even if the script were to be garbage they would still be good.I am unfortunately very disappointed in the final product, I mean it was good enough that I watched the entire 9 episodes in one sitting without getting bored, but it still feels like it was lacking something. I finished this last night and I wasn't interested in writing a review, I felt like I had nothing to say about it, but the more I think of it the more this disappointed feeling grows, again the leads are fantastic, the supporting cast is equally great, Krist is so amazing in this that I didn't even recognize him at first just brilliant!! the story is pretty cool, it looks great and the soundtrack is good,
but it doesn't live up to it's potential. I wanted more, more action, more horror, more lore.
The final fight didn't really feel final, the just defeated this supposedly all powerful demon in a few minutes like nothing, Pete after awakening his power seemed weaker than before, other than jumping really high and a different fight style he was the same, but somehow weaker.
The whole thing feels unfinished, incomplete just not as good as it could've been. Maybe I should watch it again, maybe there's something I missed, but, allthough I did enjoy this and found it interesting and funny, I don't think it's worth a rewatch.

kind of all over the place..
I've been a fan of skynani since hsf, their acting and chemistry is superb. I also have waited for wu to come out ever since the 1st trailer.I adore the effort and dedication of the people behind this whole show gave. And I had a lot of expectations going into wu, esp after seeing the final trailer. That's why I was so let down when it didn't hit as hard as I hoped.
For all its cinematic ambition, it struggles to earn the emotional weight it so desperately reaches for.
1. Outside of Niranpete, I found it nearly impossible to care about anyone else. The supporting cast is introduced with little more than a cursory nod during recruitment sequences, leaving them feeling more like functional plot devices than fully realized people.
This becomes painfully apparent during the fog sequences, which are clearly meant to carry heavy emotional resonance. But how can we fear for characters we've barely been given time to know? The show asks for our empathy without putting in the groundwork to deserve it.
2. Time and again, the series builds toward confrontations with supposedly fearsome demons, layering on ominous rituals and tense build-up as if preparing us for a seismic clash. Yet each encounter resolves with a baffling ease that undercuts any sense of danger.
The pattern becomes numbing. Heightened stakes are promised, only to be deflated by an underwhelming payoff. What should feel like hard-won victories come across as routine, and the absence of genuine struggle drains the narrative of its pulse.
3. Performance-wise, the cast delivers in isolated moments, but the consistency simply isn't there. There are flashes of emotional truth, but they're too often undercut by flat deliveries or mismatched intensity. It's a shame, because on a technical level, the series is striking. The editing is sharp, the cinematography is rich and atmospheric, (although sometimes the CGI feels too much). But visuals alone can't carry a story when the script continuously falters under its own ambitions.
Structurally, the show falls into a repetitive cycle: problem introduced, problem resolved, new problem surfaces. Rinse and repeat.
Episode 7 stood out as the clear highlight, precisely because it slowed down and allowed us to live inside the characters' emotional realities. And I wished the series had extended that same courtesy to the rest of its ensemble.
And this is just me and my opinion, but I can't stop comparing this to hsf. You'd think a fantasy-action show would have more to offer than a coming-of-age, but hsf proved that simpler doesn't mean shallower. It had more heart, more depth, and made every side character feel like family.
Wu had solid performances, but even they can't save script this hollow. It just shows.. writing matters more than budget.
Thats the end of my Wu the series review 💭 And no, I don't expect the finale to change my mind. [very late side-mention, but the product placement or advertise in this show is HORRENDOUS. JAILLLL.]

when chemistry isn’t enough
Since watching High School Frenemy, I became a fan of SkyNani. After all, they broke away from GMMTV’s familiar formula by making a bromance instead of a BL. Similar to The Untamed, the pair built a loyal following through their chemistry alone. But unlike The Untamed, I think a bromance can only sustain its appeal for so long. This is one reason I appreciate that other Asian countries don’t always follow the Thai BL formula. Sometimes pairings become forced, and actors end up playing roles that don’t truly suit them. Yes, they can cry on cue or exchange intense gazes, but chemistry alone isn’t enough.
If I’m being completely honest, I think Sky and Nani are stronger as individual actors than as a permanent screen pairing. I’m also glad they don’t participate in the song-and-dance fan events that many BL couples do. In my opinion, that preserves their value as actors rather than turning them into fan-service personalities.
As for Wu, it started with tremendous promise but quickly lost its momentum. The opening episodes were compelling, yet the story soon became predictable and, at times, overly sentimental. More disappointing was the lack of meaningful character development. Nearly every major character occupied a pivotal role in the narrative, yet few were given the depth they deserved. The supporting cast, rather than enriching the story, often felt underutilized.
The biggest indication that the series wasn’t working for me was that I found myself rooting for the antagonists. When the villains become more compelling than the protagonists, it’s usually a sign that the emotional investment has shifted.
I also think the series suffered from its length. Recently, many Thai BL dramas have shortened their episode counts, perhaps following the trend of Japanese dramas. But what works in Japan doesn’t necessarily translate elsewhere. Japanese storytellers have mastered the art of concise, tightly constructed narratives. Simply making a series shorter doesn’t guarantee better pacing. In Wu, I felt there was enough material for a longer series that could have explored its characters and themes with greater depth.
I’m sure many fans will disagree with my assessment, and that’s perfectly fine. I’ve long accepted that we don’t all see stories the same way. It would be a rather dull world if we did.
In today’s BL landscape, where dozens of new titles are released every year, audiences have more choices than ever before. Ironically, while the quantity has increased, I can’t help but feel that the overall quality has gradually declined.

The Dynamic Duo
I liked it.It was original to a degree.
Everyone's acting, especially Sky, Nani, Great (believable in every character) and Krist were better than okay. In fact, Krist left an impression.
SkyNani have a real bromance vibe and that is partially due their features and not anything particular. Sky's soft protective look towards him and Nani's innocent face does the work.
expressions are their shitck.
It's okay marketing them as a bromance couple and once it stays that without inferring more. They did it, because the expectation was there, but light on the romance.
I enjoy action and mystery, so it was not boring but it still didn't blow my mind.
The story flowed along culminating without the usual overdramatization. Bonus.
The script was okay. The demon within and without being conquered by the Wu. Both finding their center along the way. I think I want something that breaks boundaries for them. This is still within the safe zone.
It was funny, a bit emotional at times, action geared and good enough to stick to the end.
S1 is enough. I don't need a sequel.

A Masterpiece
To anyone who hasn't seen this masterpiece yet, rest assured that you will regret it. And to anyone who tries to bring this series down, rest assured that your efforts are futile because nothing will diminish the masterpiece of this series. The emotions of the actors, have you ever noticed those eyes? Eyes that express all the emotions without any words.
If this is not a masterpiece, then what is?
Even if I say this a thousand times, it's still not enough for this masterpiece.
To the haters: You can cry about the success of this series.

KHEMJIRA S2??
After I finished Khemjira, I genuinely thought... there's no way another drama is going to hit like that again. But then I started Wu.
I wasn’t even planning to watch Wu on the day it dropped… but after I watched the first 5 minutes, I was completely hooked. I’m not even joking — I don’t know how the whole 50 minutes just disappeared. It felt so short because I literally couldn’t get enough.
And the craziest part!!? I'm already getting that Khemjira vibe. The dark atmosphere, the tension, the supernatural mystery,it feels so similar in the best way!!!
i had that same feeling I had while watching Khemjira... I'm already feeling it again, and I love that!!
Just a heads up though: this isn’t for everyone. If you’re scared of supernatural/horror, you might struggle a bit. And if you’re expecting a BL… yeah, same, I thought that too before watching the trailer 😭 but it’s not. I was lowkey hoping for that vibe, especially with SkyNani but honestly? I don’t hate it... the story still pulls you in.
At the start, I wasn’t fully convinced, it didn’t feel like the strongest opening ever. But as it went on, it just kept getting better. The cinematography, lighting, and overall atmosphere? So good. Like the dark, eerie vibe actually hits. I’d honestly rate the first episode around an 7.5–8/10.
The characters are already interesting too. Niran had me confused at first, I really thought he was some rich guy when he showed up 😭 but clearly not, so now I’m curious about his actual story. And Pete… I feel like there’s so much we don’t know yet, which makes it even more intriguing.
Overall, I genuinely think this has the potential to become one of the best dramas if it keeps going like this. It’s intense, mysterious, and already addictive after just one episode.
Definitely give it a try, even if you’re unsure, just watch the first few minutes and you’ll see what I mean.

Wu — Once Again, the Romance Was Already There
Watching Wu constantly reminded me of Oh No! Here Comes Trouble. Not because the stories are identical, but because they create exactly the same feeling: two men whose relationship naturally grows into something that feels much deeper than friendship, yet the series refuses to take that final step.Everything about their relationship suggests soulmates.
They trust each other without hesitation, constantly protect one another, and share an emotional intimacy that many romantic dramas never manage to achieve. By the end, I honestly didn't expect passionate romance or explicit scenes. A simple kiss in the final episode would have been enough to acknowledge what the story had already spent the entire drama building.
Instead, the series chooses to stop just before crossing that line.
That decision didn't ruin the drama because the relationship remains the emotional heart of the story. It simply left me feeling that something was missing. The romance was already there emotionally; it just never became explicit.
The cast is outstanding once again. The chemistry between the two leads is effortless, making every scene together feel genuine. Their performances are supported by an excellent soundtrack and polished production that constantly reinforce the emotional atmosphere of the story.
Final Thought
Like Oh No! Here Comes Trouble, Wu tells a beautiful story built around two people who feel destined to meet. I simply wish the series had trusted its own characters enough to acknowledge what seemed obvious throughout the entire journey. It didn't need to become a traditional BL. It only needed one final moment to confirm what the story had already made me believe.

We must lose our footing in order to find balance
Sometimes, a show simply captivates me. It could be the type of story I love, or it might match my current mood perfectly. Maybe it’s because it’s clever and interesting, full of twists and turns that leave me pleasantly surprised. And sometimes I just like it for no particular reason at all. This series is a bit of everything. Is it flawless? Of course not. It has its minor imperfections. But none of them mattered to me in the slightest. I didn’t just enjoy it — I fell completely in love. The story, the friendship (cough, cough), the gods, the twists, and especially the characters — all of it came together in a way that left me deeply satisfied.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fantasy elements, laughing out loud at some of the shenanigans. There were moments that made me cry, moments that got me excited, and moments I hated, but I was never bored.
Both main characters have huge arcs with a lot of emotional growth, which I really appreciated.
Staking my claim now: no one loves Niran like I do, just saying. He deserves the world. I was giggling and kicking my feet every time he appeared. For a heartless demon slayer, he was surprisingly lovable and caring. He was so hurt and so ready to give up on everything — only the friendship (cough) managed to pull him forward.
How can anyone not love Pete? He was so strong and so fragile at the same time. It was incredibly powerful to experience all of his emotions and insecurities with him. I just wanted to wrap him in the biggest hug possible.
Both Niran and Pete are strong, well-written characters who formed a beautiful bond. I adore them so much. Their friendship (cough) was incredibly cute, and one season simply wasn’t enough for me.
Krist Perawat was amazing as Li Pou. I hope he had a lot of fun with the role because it’s so different from anything he’s played before, and he nailed it.
Overall, I had a great time. The story manages to be cute, funny, emotional, tense, and angsty, while also handling serious topics like grief and abandonment with care. The characters are what truly make this series. The plot was fairly predictable, but it has excellent rewatch value.
