The Most Scintillating Remake in Recent Times!

When you sacrifice your ambitions and goals to pin your hopes on the love of your life!

When I sat down to write this review, words failed me. I couldn’t comprehend how I should describe this life changing experience; because IT IS!!

There have been clandestine remakes and adaptations in the recent times; some praiseworthy, others not so much. Because crafting a remake of something that is remarkably well-made and popular isn’t easy. That’s where creativity comes into existence and “Top Form The Series” is a fine example of one such carefully constructed masterpiece. The allure that binds to the Japanese anime adaptation is unexplainable; to remake something that is comparable to its beauty is commendable. But what truly sets this remake apart is the casting. Adapted from the Japanese manga “Dakaichi: I’m Being Harassed by the Sexiest Man of the Year” by Hashigo Sakurabi, “Top Form The Series” is a low-key, high profile adaptation of the most popular manga work in existence. When the adaptation was announced, I was skeptical. GMMTV has been purchasing Japanese originals and remaking them with a consistency that borders on mediocrity. I was afraid “Top Form The Series” would meet the same end. Fortunately, teamed with an ensemble casting that deliver and a director who knows what he is doing with the main couple, we ended with topnotch storytelling and exemplary performances that are unparalleled.

A special series, presenting a relationship in an honest and beautiful way

English is not my first language, sorry for any mistakes.
I wasn't expecting this series at all, I was looking for something cute, it's a deep, special series, with a lot of complexity that the main characters work together in an amazing way. I really liked the main couple. I really liked that despite all the complex things around them, they find a way to solve them together.
Jin presents a complex character, who is looking for a way to get closer to her ideal on the one hand. But very mature on the other hand who understands the complexity of relationships.
Akin presents a more calm, self-confident character who goes through all kinds of events and actually learns to deal with unexpected things.
The chemistry between them was amazing in my opinion, I really liked the series.
I hardly felt the supporting couples, I really like supporting couples and usually their story is incomplete or unsatisfactory.
Here they were almost not there and I really liked it more, if there is no place to tell their story properly, it's better to give up.
In the end, this series got to my heart. I'm sure I'll come back to see her again.

i started this series because of smart. i first saw him in don’t say no and instantly loved him, he became one of my hyperfixations for a while. i used to watch his tiktoks and kept hoping he’d be in another bl someday. i lost track of him for a bit, but then one day, the trailer for top form popped up on my youtube and i was so surprised and excited to see him again. i saw boom too and thought he looked really good, so i was immediately curious about their chemistry, and wow, they did not disappoint.

i don’t even have a favorite character because jin and akin were both amazing in their own ways. their chemistry was insane, you could feel how much they loved and cared for each other. the acting was also so good. boom honestly shocked me with how talented he is. i didn’t know him before this, but now i won’t forget him.

the story was interesting, especially the parts that showed what happens behind the scenes in the industry. they also included the topic of saesangs, which was important, though i’m still unsure about how they handled it. it wasn’t bad, just felt like it could’ve gone deeper. the ending also felt a little rushed to me, but it still worked overall.

one thing i have to mention is the soundtrack, top tier. every single song was amazing and fit the scenes perfectly. it made the emotional moments even stronger.

in the end, i really enjoyed this show. it gave me feelings, made me care about the characters, and reminded me why i love watching bls like this. definitely recommend it!

An amazing adaption of Dakaichi

This series has been in my mind for ages. Dakaichi was actually one of my first BL anime and I watched it back in 2018-2019. It left a big impression on me and when I heard Top Form was gonna be adapted I couldn't be happier. While watching it on air I enjoyed it extremely much. Because I have been busy all year trying to complete my watchlist I barely gave myself the opportunity to rewatch it. So.. it has been over a year and decided to rewatch it without actually remembering anything. I'm honestly still not over the anime even though it has been ages, same goes for this adaption.

Before I write about this show I have to talk about Akina or Nour given that it's gonna be aired 25th of August this year. I have to admit that I am extremely confused. I thought Akina was renamed to Nour but it doesn't seem to be the case? People mentioned Boom leaving the project of Akina but I thought it were issues with his company? Anyways, am excited for Nour and can't wait for the series!! Tong Tong also really deserves to finally get a main. I noticed Tong Tong and other actors of Nour getting tons of hate and I'm honestly just confused. But I can't wait to watch Nour!!

SmartBoom was a really iconic pair and I'm sad it ended this way. Normally, I don't care that much about a pair breaking up because after all, it's their decision. But for SmartBoom I feel slightly different. I doubt it was even the choice of the actors. I tried to search up what happened but honestly my English is wayyy too bad to understand. It has something to do with the companies, that's for sure. I will miss SmartBoom forever but I don't harass the actors or Nour either. I just wished the companies were more careful.

The roles seem rlly hard to have and SmartBoom nailed it. I personally think crying on set is extremely hard and I really love how they did so. Actually, I feel like Boom has an extremely innocent face and him being the most handsome male of the year really is true. What I do hate is how Akin was sexually assaulted and Jin just left him. I'm gonna be honest even if they didn't actually do something I do still consider this as SA and I just lowkey hated that part. Like why not just support your bf? That ending really surprised me... Boom left the agency or whateve, like he stopped acting?? I totally forgot the ending so I was honestly really surprised. I do feel like SmartBoom were the best couple ever for this adaption.

One of the only ost I don't like but I do love the intro animation. Overall I feel like this is an amazing adaption of Dakaichi and it couldn't be better. The scene's hold a lot of emotion and I absolutely love the acting work. I really hope to see more of Boss Wasakorn's work in the future. If you love green flags this is for you, although Jin became a bit of a red flag in certain scene's. A huge recommendation and worth my time.

A good time with incredible acting but weak everything else

Plot was weak, main villain was weak and there were some really stupid choises made, but the acting, especially from Boom was one of the best I've seen in thai BLs, and I love the main characters together. Crazy good chemistry. This was fluff that I ended up skipping at times but a good time nevertheless. Jin and Akin are soooo cute and I wish them eternal happiness in the fiction world.

Don't go in expecting a masterpiece and you'll have a great time. I hope to see the actors in something else together in the future, hopefully with a little more plot.

Overall Well-Acted and Entertaining, but Doesn’t Quite Live Up to the Hype

I’m not as overwhelmingly positive as many of the other reviews here, but I still think Top Form is a good series worth watching. It deals with an important and current topic: the pressures of the entertainment industry and how little control celebrities have over their private lives. The main actors deliver strong performances, and their chemistry is one of the highlights of the series. Many emotional scenes feel real and touching.

The series is generally well-produced, with high-quality visuals and a professional feel. However, the pacing is a bit uneven. Some episodes move very slowly, with scenes that feel overly stretched out, while others are packed with drama and events that happen too fast. This inconsistency makes it hard to stay fully engaged at times.

One of the biggest weaknesses is the script. Conflicts and storylines appear, build up some tension, and then disappear without being fully explored. It’s as if there wasn’t enough time to develop each plot point properly before jumping to the next. Some side characters’ actions, especially the antagonists, also lack clear motivation, which makes their role in the story confusing.

Despite these issues, Top Form remains enjoyable, especially for fans of romantic dramas. The love scenes in the uncut version —many of which are quite long and explicit—will definitely appeal to a certain audience. If that’s what you're looking for, there’s plenty of it here. The series was heavily hyped before its release, and while it has many strong moments, I don’t think it fully meets the high expectations. Still, the ending hints at a second season, and I’d be curious to see where the story goes next.

So, that's how you eat Honey?

My review for this series is a massive contradiction: honestly, I don't like it... but somehow, I still kind of like the vibe? It’s a complete guilty pleasure. The acting is okay, and the plot twists are decent enough to keep you watching, even if they aren't mind-blowing.

One thing that really throws me off is the sheer number of NC scenes. There are many of them that it frequently stopped feeling like a romance drama and more like I was awkwardly invading the characters' personal privacy. Sometimes, intimacy hits harder when the show actually leaves something to the imagination!

The plot itself leans heavily into those classic, dramatic tropes where characters are constantly playing psychological games with each other. The whole dynamic around the power shifts and hidden intentions—especially once the major secrets start unraveling near the end—keeps you hooked purely out of curiosity, even when the execution gets a bit messy.

Overall, it’s a total mess of a watch, but it has that addictive, trashy energy that makes it hard to completely put down.

good adaptation

As a fan of the franchise, who has read the manga and seen the anime, I didn't expect to find any surprises in this adaptation. Even so, the cast has surprised me in a positive way; I've seen a lot of the characters in them and that made me so happy :).

I understand that this isn't a series for everyone; some things happen very quickly, and it may be uncomfortable for some people to watch. Despite that, give it a chance, especially if you're a fan of the manga or anime.

Didn't expect to be screaming throughout this wholesome serie!!

I started to watch this serie without reading the plotline nor watching any trailer. I have to say that the poster of this serie reminded me to Jack and Joker the series, and that's the reason why I decided to give it a try.
At first I was disappointed as it had nothing to do with cards, games or jokers and also the acting seemed a bit forced, therefore I asked myself... Should I keep watching?
Let's say I did not regret the choice.
Episodes full of emotions where I couldn't stop crying and smiling, hating and loving and all at the same time.
Something I didn't like tho is that it felt a bit rushed at the end, and I felt as if the last two episodes were made just to fill something and make it "nice"... not gonna lie but it was a bit hard to understand the reason behind it as it was all going perfectly smooth, but anyways... all i want to say is that despite this, I would rewatch it once and again as these two actors are just amazing. I expect to see them growing in this industry as anyone can see how much they love what they do with all the emotions and feelings they put into this serie.
I can't wait for the second season!!!
I want more from JinxAkin!!!

A Love that brought Top Form!!!

I wanted to share my thoughts and a review on the drama Top Form.

I was initially hesitant to watch it due to the 18+ restricted rating for violence and profanity, as heavy violence can trigger my PTSD. However, I decided to watch a few episodes and was pleasantly surprised. While I braced myself for the violence, it seemed minimal—leaving me wondering if it was edited out or replaced with more Steamy scenes, if you know you know😉 .

The casting for the two leads was incredible. I have done some research on both Smart and Boom. Regarding Smart, I have many questions about his sudden departure from his agency right as his career was taking off, and I hope he is doing well and succeeding with his outstanding vocal talents. As for Boom, I deeply admire his resilience through difficult times. The chemistry between Smart and Boom felt completely genuine and unacted, and they made a phenomenal on-screen couple.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional love story and how the characters supported each other against the pressures of their company and the media, certain plot points were frustrating. For instance, it made little sense how a non-relative could take ownership of a deceased person's priceless things. You'll understand it if you watch the drama.
That aside, the emotional delivery was powerful; Boom’s acting genuinely moved me to tears, making him only the second male actor to ever do so.

I am very glad I decided to watch this drama, though the cliffhanger ending was tough. If there is a second part to Top Form, it simply won't be the same without Smart and Boom.
They have truly left a lasting impression on me, and I wish them both the absolute best.
