I have to say that this was the best drama i have seen so far. The plot was the obvious one , where the cheabol fells in love with a poor girl andd fighting the family for their love while adding e little twist of magic to make more interesting. I liked how there were more than one couple the mains there. You know when whilst watching other dramas you have to wait till the 6-8 episode to really understand what is going on and to get attached with the characters? Well here it happens since the first episode and i must say it really surprised me. Another thing i liked is that it was a bit difficult having, the usually of dramas , the second lead syndrome, not because they weren't good enough but because they didn't appear much. The dialogues were super funny especially Kim Joo Won whose boldness of acting and saying things created hilarious and veryyy cute scenes. I liked Gil Ra Im and how she could and could not at the same time handle Kim Joo Won. It was actually amazing watching Hyun Bin act like a girl and Ha Ji Won as a boy. Their acting was like wow , super real and the screams were wow hilarious. Then we have the amazing moments of Oska and Director Yoon , very touching and cute , where they made me cry and laugh at the same time. Here my favorite was Oska's character, he was intense , funny ,loving, caring, playful, a pain in the ass sometimes, towards anyone.
Then there is the amazing Park Joon Geum who's acting shakes my heart , she is amazing and even tho she had nearly the same role in Emergency Couple she still nailed it.
Lastly one OST ....OMFG ... ONE OF THE BEST OST EVEEER, loved every single song , super great
To sum it up , if you want to have fun, laugh your belly out, cry your eyes out , this is the right drama for you.

to this day I still do not know why I started to watch this drama, I dropped and started back a couple of times, and each time I watched I felt like I am having a nerve break down. i do not see a love story here but only a man with odbc and a rude, arrogant, selfish idiot girl. I did not get any chemistry in between them, tbh I felt more chemo with the main lady Lee Philip and Yoon Sang Hyun, Jeon Hae Rim is a talented actress but I just could not like the the girl she is portraying here. One of the most over rated dramas ever

At first I thought it was kinda' boring but as you watch it further it'll be funny, romantic, and an absolute tear jerker! The two main characters 'Kim Joo Won' (Hyun Bin) and 'Gil Ra Im' (Ha Ji Won) both did a good job on playing their own characters and as well as playing each's characters when they switched bodies specially Hyun Bin. He was so funny when he was acting like he was trapped on Ha Ji Won's body. It was kind a weird to see an arrogant president of a dept store, (his character) turned into a girl. You'll be like "what the actual galactic freak is that?!" hahaha it was really funny. Ha Ji Won also did a good job! But her transformation was not exciting and funny as what happend to Hyun Bin because her character was really a boyish. She was a actually a stuntwoman so it's not that surprising unlike Hyun Bin's transformation. Other characters also did a good job except to Director Im (Philip Lee) his acing was so lame! :| Overall i'll give this a perfect 5 stars. I enjoyed it that I was like glued in the screen :)

I'm sorry you guys, I truly do not get the hype. I find this show so tedious, convoluted, and just plain old creepy. Hyun Bin is great, I love him and all, but wow is his character unlikable in every way. THERE IS NOTHING TO LIKE ABOUT THIS MAN. He's just constantly hovering around the female lead and pestering her in a really creepy way like this man will not leave her alone. And the whole body switching plot really adds nothing and none of the intended humor lands for me. And then it just got even more insane as it went on like by the end I literally had no clue what was happening I was so lost. Also I'm sorry I do not really like Ha Jiwon's acting and her character did feel a bit 'not like others girls' esp when she was SO like other kdrama female leads from this time. The wide eyed, constantly confused girlie who gets stalked by a rich creep. Idk the romance was just not hitting for me I just wasn't convinced. However, Yoo Inna and Kim Sungoh's characters were so fun I did really enjoy them. And then ofc, the loser king himself, Oska. Ohhh i loved that pathetic loser so much. Like Joowon, he was an awful person, but he was just so entertaining I loved him. Although, the best part of this show was Lee Jongsuk playing a deadpan gay composer who was clearly in love with the most pathetic man on the planet himself, Oska. Huge shoutout to Lee Jongsuk I always forget he was in this but he ate it up I love him. Overall, I do not like this show I swear I lost braincells watching it. But those who do like it, I'm glad you got something out of it.

At the start, the pacing of the story is very slow. I almost want to give up watching it. However, when the 2 main leads have exchanged souls, it was really entertaining. But that's just it. I don't know but I am not much into this drama. Gil Ra Im is somewhat irritating. :)) But overall it's good.

Honestly, I entered this drama with caution and not having high expectations because I have been burned from high rated and/or highly acclaimed dramas before! And unfortunately, I got burned again!
There were a few moments when the show was good, mainly the body swap episodes (those were hilarious and the acting from both parties was on point) and some that were great (when we find out what happened to the ML) but most of the times the story falls flat and drags on.
I mean this is not a bad drama it is just boring for the most part. The two main actors are brilliant in their roles, but something did not click for me. Also some times I found their chemistry lacking.

My main issues with the show are:
1. The show could have done with at least 5 less episodes because from some point on the story just dragged on. At least 2-3 episodes could have been merged into 1. Also, each episode lasted an hour but sometimes it felt like 3 which is never o good feeling to have when watching a drama! The show started of good, then got real boring in the middle(episode 11 onwards), then picked up again towards the end(episodes 16-17) and then meh…
2. Why did the FL fall for the ML, is it because he is Hyun Bin, because other than that he has nothing else going for him. He is a jerk, a stalker, obsessive and borderline rapey at times, that kind off redeems his self only towards the end and then with the whole amnesia thing reverts back to his annoying self, and for some reason the FL finds it charming and likes it? . I mean yes he likes the FL and he (sometimes) is good to her, but not all the time and he is a jerk and rude to everyone else..
I think the only reason the ML was likable at times is because the FL made him one when they switched bodies.
3. When did the FM lead fall for the ML. I mean we know that for the ML it was Instant love, and although not fan of this trope, we knew when he started to like/obsess over her, but when it come to the FL I never really understood when it happened. One moment she couldn’t stand him and the next she was in love?? It didn’t make any sense to me. There was more development between the FM and Oska relationship, that for me it would have made more sense if they were end game or even her and the Director.

I highly wonder if I would have enjoyed this better if I had watched it as one of my first dramas, because now all it seems like is a mash-up of tropes with none of them done well.

The thing I had heard most about this drama is that the male lead was the rudest they've ever met, but it actually didn't seem so bad to me, mainly because the main female lead could hold her own and fight back. This definitely tapered off as the drama went on, and I wish she had stayed that cold instead of crying so much.

I had also been warned that the body switch plot was really minor, but it turned out to be even less than I had expected, which was kind of disappointing because it would've been a plot I was really interested in. Despite this, I still really appreciated the acting of the two main leads when they were body switched. I do think that it was a little confusing the way the visual effects kept switching them back and forth, but I get that they're trying to make it clear who's in whose body in the scenes.

The second ship's plot also dragged out for soooo long, and I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Yoon Sang Hyun. He just yells a lot and I always have to adjust my volume ? Honestly the same could be said for the main lead's mother as well, and overall there was just so much overdramatic crying that's pretty typical of older dramas.

An evergreen drama that you will never be tired of

I am watching Secret Garden again in 2023, (it will be my third) and who would have thought that I get the same feeling of enjoyment as my first time watching it many years ago. It has to be my number 1 Korean drama of all time. The comedy was funny and still is, the attraction between the leads were so real, the story and plots were still fresh, the music and songs were just so good and memorable, and the actors played their role so well.
I just feel I need to write something for it this time around, just to give a shout to the crews and casts for their wonderful work in giving us such an enjoyable drama 👏🏻👏🏻🥰

I’ve been planning to watch thos drama bec of good reviews but I guess this is just another Boys Over Flower for me (not that i didnt like this type of drama - i loved meteor garden-original version a lot) which seems to be inevitably good to a lot of viewers but it just doesn’t interest me - well atleast I got to finish this drama (skipping many scenes though)

Why?
Maybe - i find it really hard to be interested with the female actress (i also did not find her charming in king 2 hearts but i managed to like the drama bec of Lee seung Gi ) - She seems to not create good chemistry with the actors - and so maybe this prevented me in even giving her character a chance - or maybe the character itself is not attractive for me at all.

More so - most of the story does not interest me - the fact that a rich man - fell inlove so quickly with a poor - strong woman - out of no where - (i can believe love at first sight but still there has to be a conversation and instant connection for this to happen) in this case - i didnt see any of that.

There are several scenes which are untrealistic - fantasy is supposed to be magical, yes , but should not think that viewers are dumb.

This drama sure included all things common viewers would want to see - but in a predictable manner - overdoing things (which I can’t stand the most)

Then why did i finish the drama?

I wanted to give Hyun Bin a chance into my liking - but i guess not in this drama- will watch and see from his other dramas instead.

I got curious since I’ve started watching it already (i skipped a lot of scenes though and just got to the point)

Do I hate this drama?

No. It’s just that - i did not happen to like it. Maybe if i watche dit when I was in highschool - i might have a better take on this - just maybe. But until then - i suggest you watch other dramas if you dibt have much time to burn.

My first drama and it placed the bar for all those that are to follow. By now, I've watched a few more drama's, so I'll write my review with those in mind.

When I first watched this, I was absolutely hooked and convinced that Kdrama was so much more than I had ever thought it to be. It was great to have this as my introduction to this new world.

Story:
Well, I don't have much to say here. Genderswap is amusing and difficult. I think the actors did an amazing job at portraying one another after a swap. Besides this swap, it's really a pretty average story of a rich family versus a poor family. Is this bad? No, absolutely not. I really liked how it all developed. But is it really special? That, I guess not. It never bored me though!

Actors and Acting:
As stated above, the leads did amazing. This drama also introduced me to Lee Jong Suk and man, he got my attention from the get go for sure! Just like Yoon Sang Hyun (whom later surprised me in I Can Hear Your Voice). I thought the acting in general was really well done by everyone. There were a few scenes where I felt things were a bit over the top.. but not to the point where it got annoying. It fitted the story.

Overall:
It used to be a 10 for me, but now I rated it a 9 because another drama took its spot, showing me the bar could be raised even higher. Still - this is a drama I advice everyone whenever I can.

This drama had a very cliche, yet interesting concept to it. The romance is definitely played out and spaced well. I especially loved Kim Sarang-Yoon Sang Hyun relationship. I felt that story was really interesting. However, at times I was a little disappointed.

Overall, the story does go full circle. It explains what it NEEDS to; however, there were minor instances that should have been better. In fact, sometimes they just didn't make sense (I don't want to give examples as they would be spoilers). Speaking from a literary lens, there were a lot of plot holes and things left unexplained.

The acting was decent. It wasn't great, but wasn't terrible. Ha Ji Won isn't THAT great of an actor, but she did have her instances where she really shined. When she cried, she had me on the verge of tears. Don't forget the body switching either. They would have to play the part of the other person which was very good. The rest of the main cast (as well as the minor/supporting) had a good fit (although I wish Jay Park was to be in it as originally planned :(..)

You normally can't go wrong with the music in a drama. SBS/Secret Garden staff did not fail to execute. "That Man" was a very catchy tune, as well as some of Yoon Sang Hyun's songs. I even downloaded the OST because I liked a good portion of the songs.

I'm not one of those people that judges a drama based on how much it makes them cry, the actors chosen, or something ridiculous like that. There were many small things that were left unanswered. The only questions answered were the big points (Gil Raim's father, etc.) The plot is a decent/very cliche body swapping drama.
Overall, I give it a 7. I'd say it was a very mediocre - almost good drama.
