Unrequited Love Under the Summer Sky That Doesn't Drag
The first two episodes hooked me right away. I have a soft spot for high school crushes turning into romance, especially when there are unrequited feelings involved, and this series delivered that without wasting time. I was genuinely surprised that Saeki confessed in the very first episode instead of stretching it out for half the season.The story feels simple, light, and refreshing, focusing more on the emotions and awkwardness of adolescence than unnecessary drama. The chemistry between the leads is natural, the acting is convincing, and the soundtrack fits the youthful summer atmosphere really well. I'm always happy to watch another high school BL, and this one has already pulled me in.
I can't wait to see where the next ten episodes take their relationship.

First impresion
So far it's quite good, I didn't like the start, but it's growing on me. I like the acting, and the visuals are also great.Episode 1:
* I absolutely am not a fan of them showing us the whole series in the first few minutes of the episode as an intro.
* The way those girls won't back off even after Chiharu rejected the confession is so irritating. No means no, and he definitely did not owe them an explanation.
* That ending was so unexpected but not in a bad way. Now I'm definitely excited to see how it will continue.

mostly sweet with a little angst

What I Liked
- the characters felt realistic, the less popular guy wasn't a caricature
- making fun of the car beep and how it was like a movie in episode 1
- communication at the end of episode 1
- supportive friends
Room For Improvement
- not a fan of the flash forward montage intro
- annoying how the classmate wouldn't take no for an answer
- overdone cliche end of episode 4/beginning of 5, my suggestion is to stop episode 4 at 11 min, watch episode 5 and then start episode 6 at 11 min

Episode 3 is all about the quiet ache of first love.
Chiharu already understands that what he feels is jealousy, but he cares too much about Wataru to push him. Wataru, on the other hand, hasn't yet realized that his growing uneasiness is also a sign of love. Watching the two misunderstand each other without saying a word feels painfully real. The rediscovered childhood memory near the end doesn't feel forced—it simply reminds us that sometimes the beginning of love has been waiting for years. This episode is gentle, nostalgic, and beautifully restrained, letting small moments speak louder than dramatic confessions.Streaming: U-NEXT (Japan, early access)

Love That Began That Summer
There’s just always something about JBLs, and this one has it too. It’s not a perfect show but it is definitely worth watching.I like how the ML and MC bonded through shared hobbies and the ending of the first episode. But I wonder how the romance would progress and cos of this curiosity, I will have to keep watching.
Overall, it’s a refreshing BL show, and worth watching as I’ve previously mentioned.
