Tonal Shift

It's crazy how in one episode she goes from the laughing stock of the hospital to the perfect healthcare worker, to then the clumsiest operate in the surgery room.It was very nice seeing some old faces though.

Cast change, noooo!

They changed the kid who plays Yuki! Why? The original boy was so good. Another thing I didn't like was the scene where Kotoko fails to draw blood SIX times and just keeps stabbing away at the patient, which was frankly horrifying. On the plus side, they really piled on the kabedon (if you're into that.)

Why, Kotoko? WHY!

Watching this after putting it off for 2 years. I loved the manga but in any drama and live action adaptation, I hate Naoki's character too much to watch for long. This one is different. I still hate Naoki and still think Kotoko could do much better since her personality is such that she could make anyone fall in love with her. She's so sweet and kind and quirky. Never a dull moment with her. I think Naoki is just in love with how she loves him and not actually in love with Kotoko herself. He's selfish and a narcissist, and honestly, who wouldn't like being adored unconditionally like that.

But.... this episode... KOTOKO WAEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Your whole life is not Naoki, girl. He's a huge part, but you're too dependant. Learn to do your best for your patients and yourself, not just for him. Because when it comes down to it, if you're not competent, you can't help him in his job either. Kotoko hun, I share your embarrassment and celebrate 2nd hand embarrassment for you but jeez!!!!!!! Not to this extent. Pick yourself (and that tray) up and do a good job. Get new equipment first though. And every time you hand a surgeon a scalpel, I cringe and far you'll cut their palm.

KOTOKO WAEEEEE!!!!!
