Hi! So first off, I'd like to point out that this is my first article, so this may be kinda awkward. Please feel free to give advice and point out weird stuff in the comments!! (I'm still trying to figure everything out hehe)

If I am to be completely honest, I have to admit that I didn't think that this drama would be that good. I didn't think that T.O.P would act as well as he did, and I didn't think that they could portray the sense of loss through a language barrier.

THE SECRET MESSAGE: STARRING

T.O.P as Woohyun (MAIN)

Juri Ueno as Haruka (MAIN)

Additional cast members include Yoo In-na as Amy, Lee Jae-yoon as Lee Jae-soo, and Shin Won-ho as Choi Gang.

This (short) drama is about a Korean man named Woohyun and a Japanese woman named Haruka. Woohyun is trying to get over his first love, by being a director for documentaries about love (they aren't very popular). Haruka is trying to find answers about love because she is yet to be over her first love as well.

Woohyun is currently in Japan, and ironically, Haruka is in Korea. The two "meet" accidentally when Haruka sends a LINE message to her first love, knowing she won't get a reply. However, when Woohyun's phone is stolen from him, he is given a new one by his friend. His new number is the one Haruka has messaged. Through the help of LINE translator (this was a really great product placement and I'll be completely honest, I forgot about this feature of LINE), the two are able to communicate and fall in love.

Even from the intro, I was completely entranced:

I think this really lets the viewer know the distance between the two of them.

In addition to that, even though we know exactly how far apart the two main characters are, all the emotions that are portrayed between the two of them are completely tangible. I certainly wasn't disappointed by the wide range of feelings that T.O.P showed.

I love how the two characters have similar situations that happen to them simultaneously, so they can constantly look to each other for help, without it seeming to be completely ridiculous.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a short melodrama, or anyone who likes T.O.P, or anyone who feels they need healing in any way! The camera angles are great and the acting definitely isn't lacking!

Also on another note, the OST T.O.P sang for is absolutely breathtaking; his deep voice is so enticing:

For those of you who have seen it already, what do you think? About the characters? About the plot? About the acting? Let me know in the comments below!
