I've been watching Kdramas for 4 years now and over time I began to notice that kdramas have changed the way i view certain things so , i decided to make a list of thing I have learnt from kdramas .

THERE ARE SOME SPOILERS AHEAD SO PLEASE BE AWARE

 1.  Believing in Fate, Destiny and Serendipity

We all have watched at least one kdrama where the plot had an event that happened beyond the characters' control in which we call it "fate" in most kdramas the first encounter is always fated , an example of this is the well known loveable drama “Goblin“

Kim Shin (played by Gong Yoo) is a Goblin who is cursed with immortality and so therefore uses his powers to help others.  One day, Eun Tak’s (played by Kim Go Eun) mother had gotten into a car accident while Eun Tak was still to be born and unkowningly summoned the goblin and therefore he ends up saving her child’s life. A short while later, the revived woman gives birth to a Eun Tak and therefore she is then known as the “goblin’s bride” by birth and as Eun Tak grows older she learns that she can see ghosts and also that her mother has died and that her mother’s spirit is slowly fading away Eun Tak grows older and older and on her birthday she blows a candle and ends up summoning the goblin. (You can technically see how they were fated to meet).

Lesson learned-  life is a mystery some things are fated to happen some things are destined to happen and the rest are just coincidences.

2. Work hard and follow you dreams

We all know the struggles of having to not only keep up with our favorite dramas but also keep up with the reality of life. This is when refreshing  ourselves motivates each drama, with genres such as comedy, youth and slice of life. Those genres are needed the most and these 2 stimulating dramas will energize your body for the better.

                                                         Cheer Up

Cheer up is an encouraging drama that revolves around a group of young adolescents going through the struggles of students. Such as worrying about their grades, education and college, but in the end they still try to follow their dreams .

Set in a highly competitive school that emphasizes achievement and scores above all else, the drama will lay bare the absurdities and hypocrisies of the education system while also featuring the students' story of growth, who struggle to move forward, one step at a time. This refreshing drama will make you want to reminisce on your old youth days.

lesson learnt: there are times when you are falling, struggling, and dying inside but never forget that its always possible to cheer up

                                                   Fight For My Way

Ko Dong Man (played by Park Seo Joon) used to practice taekwondo back in the school days and now he makes a living as a contract employee, while going after the UFC title. On the other hand, Choi Ae Ra (played by Kim Ji Won) gave up her dream of becoming an announcer and she works at the information desk of a department store. This is the love story of two people who chase their dreams in life, despite facing harsh realities, which brings them down .

Fighting for my way is my most loved electrifying drama, revolving around two couples fighting to overcome hardships and life and being able to follow their dreams even at the hardest moments. This drama will make you burst into laughter with its humorous charismatic characters.

Lesson learned- no matter how life tries to put you down or swallow you up just keep fighting your way up to victory

3. There is always people hating on your greatest success

We should all know the feeling of our success and then lurking at the shadow of our success is always the notorious world-wide word called "jealousy" the anxious feeling of wanting what others have and this is well portrayed in my all time loved psychological kdrama...................................

   Hyde, Jekyll, Me

Gu Seo Jin (played by Hyun Bin)  is a third-generation chaebol who runs the theme park Wonder Land. He seemingly has everything — looks, brains, and fortune. But a traumatic incident in his childhood resulted in Seo Jin having a split personality — one is a cold, ruthless man, while the other is the polar opposite, someone kind and gentle and in that traumatic incident Gu Seo Jin was not the only one involved but also his childhood friend Yoon Tae Joo (played by Sung Joon ) who was betrayed by Gu Seo Jin which resulted to his hatred of him for so many years, so he therefore devices a plan of becoming a psychiatrist and later kidnapping his personal therapist in plans of getting revenge on Seo Jin .

Yoon Tae Joo (played by Sung Joon )  is quite a charismatic character as he shows off mostly his intellectual cunning  bad boy side of him as it seems he just can't stand to let Seo Jin have a peaceful life.

Lesson learned - if life is amazing and going your way always keep your guard up and keep fighting for there is always someone trying to steal your glory.

 4. Beauty can only be seen from within

I’m trying to make this as relatable as possible, so we should all know the feeling of staying up all night to watch our favorite dramas and then we look in the mirror and we see dark circles and saggy eyebags on our eyes, acne on our faces and a whole bunch of nightmares that can be spotted on our faces. Then the next minute someone says “eww what happened to your face?!?” and that’s the outside beauty that comes with watching kdramas. Anyways, my favourite drama that both of the leads are beautiful inside and outside is in:

   She was pretty

Kim Hye Jin (played by Hwang Jung Eum) was a very pretty girl from a rich family. After her family's publishing company went bankrupt, she experienced hardships and then lost her beauty too. Ji Seong Jun (played by was an Park Seo Joon) unattractive boy with low self-esteem, but grows up as a handsome and successful editor.

lesson learnt: no matter how unattractive a person seems you don’t know how beautiful they are from within

    5. Love is and can be stronger than death

Most of us cry when our favorite male/female leads dies but some of us (me) most of the time always cry tears of joy because at the end of the day we know the love was not in vain. One of the dramas in which I had this kind of feeling was in................................

                                           I'm Sorry, I Love You

Cha Moo Hyuk (played by So Ji Sub) was adopted by an Australian family but was abused and left homeless at an early age. One day, he comes across Song Eun Chae (played by Im Soo Jung ), she is the coordinator for Choi Yune (played by Jung Kyung Ho), a famous singer in Korea, whom she is secretly in love with. Her fateful encounter with Moo Hyuk ends up affecting not only her life but that of her precious Yune as well.

Because of an accident involving his ex-girlfriend, Moo Hyuk is left with 3 months to live. This leads him to head back to Korea in search of his biological mother. The discoveries he makes changes his heart from longing to revenge. Even with all this darkness surrounding him, he finds an unexpected source of happiness with someone he did not expect to love.

Spoiler: As a result to the accident involving Moo Hyuk's ex-girlfriend, he therefore gives his heart to Yune for a transplant and dies in the end. Eun Chae also dies, beside his grave after laying a flower upon it. (This just goes to show how love can have such a strong bond that not even death can tear them apart)

lesson learnt : Real relationship bonds will go through thick and thin but never will they break apart

                                          Bonus

^ you are never too old to love ^

I just love when old people fall in love it makes me cringe and gives me goosebumps but at the end of the day I love it as they walk side by side holding each other when people just stare at them. This is especially seen in my favourite all time unforgettable movie :

         Salute D’Amour

The movie follows the romantic relationship between an elderly couple, Sung Chil (played by Park Geun Hyung ) and  Geum Nim (played by Yoon Yeo Jung)  and the stories of their family and neighbors.
Sung Chil works at the Jang Soo Store which is owned by Jang Soo (Jo Jin Woong). Sung Chil is stubborn and has a bad temper, but he changes after meeting Geum Nim. Geun Nim runs a flower shop and her daughter Min Jung does not like her meeting Sung Chil.

Lesson learnt: love can always sprout even at an old age

And that’s it guys hope you liked the article these are just a few things I picked up from kdramas, comment what you picked up!!!
