Kang Ha Neul confirmed to join the upcoming KBS drama "Trees Die on Their Feet."
On February 17th media outlets shared that Kang Ha Neul has confirmed his appearance in the upcoming KBS series "Trees Die on Their Feet." He will be joining Youn Yuh Jung, Son Ye Jin, and Sung Dong Il as the main lead of the drama.
"Trees Die on Their Feet" will tell the story of Yoo Jae Hoon, a theater actor who will act as the grandson of a North Korean grandmother who defected. He will pretend to be his grandson to fulfill the elderly grandmother's last wish.
Kang Ha Neul will be playing the character named Yoo Jae Hoon. He is an unknown theater actor. Although he is unknown, he has a positive mindset and has always been optimistic. One day, he got an unexpected offer from an old man while working as a theater actor in a local theater company.
"Trees Die on Their Feet" will be directed by Yoon Sang Ho and written by Jo Seong Geol. This will be Kang Ha Neul's reunion to both the director and writer. Kang Ha Neul and writer Jo Seong Geol worked together in the 2017 movie "Midnight Runners." Meanwhile, he and the director had a special relationship last year as Kang Ha Neul made a special appearance in the drama "River Where the Moon Rises" directed by Yoon Sang Ho.
Kang Ha Neul is returning to KBS after three years. His last drama was "When the Camellia Blooms" with Gong Hyo Jin which also aired on KBS.
Aside from "Trees Die on Their Feet," Kang Ha Neul will also lead the upcoming series "Insider" with Lee Yoo Young, Kim Sang Ho, Han Bo Reum, Kang Young Seok. and Heo Sung Tae.
In 2021, Kang Ha Neul only starred in movies. He was part of the films "Waiting For Rain" and "A Year-End Medley." Early this year, the actor also starred in the star-studded film "The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure."
Aside from two upcoming dramas, Kang Ha Neul is also slated to star in several films such as "Streaming" and "Dream."
