Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young and actor Gong Myung will reportedly join hands for a new romance
Kim Hyang Gi is set to star in another film.
On July 11, it was officially confirmed that Kim Hyang Gi is leading the upcoming movie Hanran (working title).
Hanran will tell the story of a mother and daughter living on Jeju Island. It will showcase their struggles to survive. The upcoming film will be a period movie. Kim Hyang Gi will portray the role of a mother in her 20s.
This will be the fifth upcoming film of Kim Hyang Gi. The actress is also starring in the upcoming films It's Okay to Just Breathe Next to You, Breathless Love, Along With the Gods 3, and Along With the Gods 4.
Aside from her long list of upcoming movies, Kim Hyang Gi will also return to the K-drama scene with the upcoming series Cashero. She will work alongside 2 PM Lee Jun Ho, Kim Hye Joon, Kim Byung Chul, Kang Han Na, and Lee Chae Min.
Kim Hyang Gi is known for being part of the movies I, Innocent Witness, Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds, Along With the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days, Snowy Road, A Werewolf Boy, and more.
Hanran will be the next work of director Ha Myung Mi. She is known for creating the films The Pulley by Steven Kwang, Meet the In-Laws, Romance, and more.
Last year, she also directed the film Her Hobby which was led by Jeong E Suh, Kim Hye Na, Woo Ji Hyun, and Park Hye Jin.
In the upcoming film Hanran, Kim Hyang Gi will portray the role of Ah Jin. She is a mother in her 20s who will showcase the hardships and struggles of the lives of the women in Jeju at that time. Child actress Kim Min Chae will portray the role of Hae Saeng, Ah Jin's six-year-old daughter.
Kim Hyang Gi shared her thoughts about starring in the upcoming movie. The actress stated, "I believe the upcoming film will be a learning experience that goes beyond acting and will help me grow as a person. I know the importance of the project and I promised to approach it with respect and dedication. I hope that the film's message successfully reaches the audience.
The production of Hanran will begin this fall and it is aiming to be released in 2025. The upcoming film will be produced by Wenver Studio.
