The film "The Roundup" surpassed another record today!
On June 6th it was confirmed that the movie "The Roundup" led by Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo already exceeded the 9 million viewers. Korea Film Council confirmed the news today. They revealed on June 5 the movie garnered 8.868 million viewers and on June 6, 132,000 viewers were added making it to 9 million people.
"The Roundup" premiered on May 18 and it topped the box office for one whole month except when "Jurassic World Dominion" premiered. Many are already anticipating that the movie will even surpass 10 million cumulative audiences.
The film is the sequel to "The Outlaws" which aired in 2017. It tells the new journey of monster detective Ma Seok Do and his team as they carry out a new strong mission.
"The Roundup" is a film by director Kang Yoon Sung and Lee Sang Yong, the same directors as "The Outlaws."
Aside from Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo, Choi Gwi Hwa, Kim Seung Hyun, Ha Joon, Park Ji Hwan, Heo Dong Won, Kim Chan Hyung, Yoon Byung Hee, Eum Moon Suk, Park Eun Woo, Jung Jae Kwang, and more are included in the cast.
There will be a third installment of the film called "The Outlaws 3" and it will be led by Ma Dong Seok and Lee Joon Hyuk.
In 2017, Ma Dong Seok starred in the film with Yoon Kye Sang. The film was a big hit and it garnered over 6.87 million admissions. The second installment of the film already surpassed this record and many are also already anticipating the third installment of "The Outlaws."
Aside from "The Roundup," Ma Dong Seok will also join the upcoming films "Apgujeong Report," "The Wilderness," "Holy Night: Demon Hunters," and more.
Meanwhile, Seon Seok Koo is one of the most talked-about actors nowadays. Before the film "The Roundup" premiered, Son Seok Koo already dominated the hearts of Korean drama viewers. Many were bewildered by his charms in the series "My Liberation Notes." Many also liked his great chemistry with actress Kim Ji Won.
Son Seok Koo is booked and busy for the coming years. He will be part of the upcoming dramas "Casino," "Murder DIEary," and "D.P. Season 2." He will also join the upcoming film "Virus."
