Six-member Japanese boy band V6 announces their disbandment date.

It was announced through Johnny's net that the Japanese male idol group V6 will officially disband on November 1, 2021. The group made their debut in 1995 and their disbandment will mark their 26th anniversary within the industry.

The all-male idol group, formed and managed by Johnny & Associates Inc., is composed of six members divided in two subgroups; (20th Century) Sakamoto Masayuki, Nagano Hiroshi, and Inohara Yoshihiko, (Coming Century) Morita Go, Miyake Ken, and Okada Junichi.

Having reached their 40s, Morita Go has decided that it was time for him to face his future individually. Expressing sincere gratitude as they delivered the news, Morita Go declared that he would leave the agency to pursue his acting career while the other members will continue to work within the agency.

The group debuted on November 1, 1995 with the single "Music for the People," which was used as the theme song for the 1995 FIVB Volleyball World Cup. Their first four singles, including 'Music for the People', were all cover versions of the same-titled Eurobeat songs composed by Italian producers such as Giancarlo Pasquini, Andrea Leonardi, Alberto Contini, Sandro Oliva.

They have appeared together as a group in the movies "Hard Luck Hero" and "Hold Up Down" as well as the drama "V no Honoo." They have done several theme songs for drama, I am sure a I missed a few but this what I found

The group was most famous for performing “Take Me Higher,” the theme song of "Ultraman Tiga,” “Change the World,” the first opening of the anime Inuyasha. V6 also sang “Break Out,” the eighteenth opening of Fairy Tail, “Super Powers,” the twenty-first opening of One Piece, and “Rock Your Soul,” the theme song of the 2012 video game Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2.

A video game dedicated to the boy band was also available on PlayStation in Japan. On February 26, 1998, General Entertainment released Project V6, a simulation game where the player assumes the role of a female manager tasked to manage V6’s members for a full year.
