My thesis on ML in the "spoiler" below. ?

    Hide Spoiler

?ML knows that she is dealing with four categories of forces:

1- Magnetic: her great love MJH.
2 - Gravitational: YQ, Princess Zi Gu, CP and LM gravitate towards ML.
    3 - Centripetal (force from outside to center): palace conflicts and disputes over the crown);
4 - Centrifuge (from the center to the outside): political interests between the kingdoms, in the figure of YQ.

? What does ML really feel? ML grew up in a family that cultivated love and family ties. After 10 years in an arid life, she returned to love, albeit reluctantly. This love between ML and MJH was built on the mutual perception of virtues, dignity, loyalty. She would never stop loving MJH, not even in the face of the shock of the revelation that he was the Master of Shadow, because she knows that the real man is the one behind the Master of Shadow, Prince MJH, hero of his kingdom.

? Assassin or warrior? ML was an ordinary, virtuous girl, who lived a peaceful life with her family. The tragedy you experienced It didn’t kill your values. However, he sought a way to take justice into his own hands. She was trained much more to be a warrior than a mere assassin, because a warrior has ethical values, such as loyalty and a sense of justice, is capable of compassion, has a pact with his roots, his people, values the rules, perseveres in self-command and discipline, master strategy techniques. A killer has a method, but he has no ethics, he has no bonds, he has no compassion.

? Given the complexity of these forces, what are the ML choices? ML plans every step she takes: her focus is to enforce justice. She understood that MJH wanted to protect her, by forging that confession previously agreed with YQ, as a condition to obtain the antidote recipe. But we know that MJH is using his own body to test the antidote and MJH doesn't know that yet. The unfolding of this will benefit the love between them. And look, what is this love from YQ? What if MJH hadn't given in to blackmail? MJH proved his love by preferring to lose her than leave her to her fate. Given the urgency to implement justice, ML considers accepting YQ's marriage proposal merely as part of a strategy.

? Will ML docilely accept her fate of spending her life with YQ? I don't think so. Anything could happen in that wedding scene. Anything could happen if the wedding takes place. I have no thesis for these dilemmas, whether ML will remain in a lethargic state faking her death, whether there will be an intervention during the ceremony, I am only convinced that we will see MJH and ML ascend to the throne. Look how perfect it sounds: love is crowned by the perfect alliance between Great Yan Dynasty and Qinzhou. We will see ML at the cake shop that MJH promised her. But the final scene will be with the two walking in the garden full of undying flowers during spring...The End!

I still have to speak for Liu Xueyi, his lines belong to the top three levels in my place, in different situations and moods, the distinction is very good, I don't understand how to suddenly take out of context and take out his yin and yang weird lines and pretend to be sluggish to criticize his line problems, I think his line ability is very good.

Then MJH, you just had to take me down that road didn't you, you had to push ML out of the way into the arms of YQ. I get it, I get, but my man, that was hard for me to swallow.

ZG torching her arm all up to wake up Daddy Emperor. I have to give her props for doing what she doing to help my fave Emperor out.

Crushing me in this teaser, now she is marrying YQ. MJH has still unfinished business and finds out ML is coming into town only to see her shopping with YQ. Damn hairpin.

Seems like this production company is in good terms with Netflix, I’m afraid that after The Double their quality work is gonna be ruined for quantity, sex scenes, nudity, and so on to keep having their work on Netflix.

It now makes sense why this was rushed, also the bathtub scene in episode one. Having 4 writers who rushed the work incoherently.

Netflix thrives on mediocre, nudity and sex dramas to sell their network.

Nudity???? And does this drama have that? And I watched every episode of Kill me love me.(One thing they know how to do (is show without showing). And it's good that it's that way.?

It's smart to admit you don't understand something. And I really didn't understand it.
The opening scene of the drama is totally related to the content of the book, and they did it in a way that wouldn't shock anyone, which is, to a certain extent, elegant. (But it wasn't put there to please Netflix). Morung Jing He in the book is terrible. (They toned him down a lot).I liked that they toned him down, otherwise it would be unwatchable).
      Ps:
I think it was difficult for the 4 writers to write an anti-hero who could become the next hero. It's simply difficult for them. (And any and all inconsistencies in the drama come from their difficulty in building this redeemable anti-hero).

@eliteles1 Not a problem, at least you were not responding with insults and disrespect.

What I meant was that, partnering with Netflix will slowly destroy this production company’s quality of work. And I mentioned what Netflix thrives on.

I then mentioned also the inconsistencies in this drama, insinuating that they did the work under pressure for various reasons of course which might include Netflix.

I also made reference to the bath scene which is something you hardly find on the first episode of historical dramas.

This drama has inconsistencies in writing and editing. Although I do love it for the leads. I’m just worried that, this production company doesn’t fall into the trap of the likes of Netflix.

I hope this makes sense now.

      eliteles1  VIP
Thank you very much. Now I understand what you mean. But, some scene like that would have to exist in the drama (after all, the drama is an adaptation of the book). It wasn't really because of Netflix, it was as if the writers wanted to get through this part of the story right away, to really develop what they intended with the character. And of course, to take advantage of the scene to create buzz and attract the attention of more audiences. So, the first episode would have to be impactful.
PS: But the origin of this entire path in the writers' writing and ordering of the scenes in the drama (has as its main reason and cause) the book itself, the original source of this story.

How bad was the ML in the book?

Do you feel they should have stuck to
      that a bit or?

      eliteles1  VIP
Hide Spoiler(In the book) the female writer exaggerated the bad attitudes of the male protagonist (and still wrote him to be redeemed at the end of the book and have a happy ending). But (these attitudes) could not be redeemed. (When I read the book I saw that it would not be plausible) she would have to remove these parts (to coherently redesign) a redeemable male anti-hero character.
PS: I read it (kind of trying to understand her intention) as if it were the draft of a better story. Got it? That's how I read it.
      See these comments below:
      Kbeauty
In the novel ML is a rapist and repeatedly rapes FL and beats her through the novel orders a prisoner who won't let him rape her be gang raped and beaten by his men. Kills innocent women and children. But the FL his rape victim loves him anyway. Because well who knows maybe he's "hot" ooh. Yeah go girls well done for glorifying this pathetic shit.
      eliteles1 VIP
When I read the book (these passages you mentioned), I read them as something that didn't fit the story. (Clearly the female writer wanted to create an anti-hero, someone troubled but redeemable), but she overdid it. (If there were an editor who helps writers, he would say, take that part out, take that part out, I know what your real intention is.) The book mentions that he is someone who has been wronged, etc. (The scriptwriters of the drama understood the draft of the book better than the female writer) and wrote and rewrote him better for the drama (a troubled, hurt, but fair man), someone redeemable. I can't read the book (thinking those passages are plausible), but I see the general outline of the book. I don't know if I made myself clear. I hope so.

I have read the novel too, but I don't remember the ML to be that evil. He was mostly an as. hole.
Yes, those parts are mentioned in the beginning. It's not his personality most of the time in the book. They work together, they go through hardships together. So (it's like those parts are not plausible) they were in the book.
      blabla100 2 minutes ago
      @eliteles1

Oh maybe I didn't pay enough attention or something. I kept reading how evil the ML was în the novel, that I started to believe that I must have read some censored version of the novel. Was mostly an as.hole torn between 2 women basically.

      eliteles1 VIP in a minute
(yes), but then he decided on Mei Lin because they went through life and death together. There are interesting parts in the book and even poetic ones. This book is a contradiction.

      • eliteles1  VIP

I think the writers did what was possible to do for the best for the drama. They took into account the original source (the book), and the heterogeneous expectations of the audience. Despite some inconsistencies (I still think they captured the real intention of the female writer of the book). The message of mutual healing, redemption, hope. Despite everything, I think that's what the female author of the book wanted to convey.

Whoah!!! That was definitely not gonna work. They redeemed nicely.

However I do feel that they should have kept part of that persona a little longer only towards his enemies.

Now the confusion between writers on how to rewrite to redeem him is visible.

If they had enough time to sit and playing out amongst each other it would have been better.

"However I do feel that they should have kept part of that persona a little longer only towards his enemies."

Yes, I agree, it would have had more impact on the transformation he would experience next. (But still, I feel relieved, because I think that sense of redemption and hope was maintained, even if an uphill battle, the writers got the point across).

You guys may think Luomei was acting out of character, but she actually isn't. She is a general, but she is actually a bit emotional.
I remember saying to myself that for some of the people that cared about Prince Jing, the Qingzhou massacre was not very important to them, compared to Jing's life. And it showed in Luomei and the emperor.
Qingzhou was a Dayan city that was captured by their enemies and then MRJH was meant to reclaim it. In this case, the people in that city are somehow seen as part members of the other state that captured it. Wiping them out is not consequential, it is only bad PR if the person that did it is someone prominent like MRJH.
Back to the initial issue. When MRJH went to meet Luomei for the red coin seeds, have you forgotten that she said that the massacre is not enough reason for the great Weibei army general to fall. Compared to his life and his position, the Qingzhou people did not match up. The emperor also said the same kind of thing when MRJH returned and met him, but he said it about MRJH as a prince and his son, not as a general.
So the fact that Luomei wavered into ignoring the atrocities of the crown prince is in line with her. That is because he finally wore her down and she started to care for him. She had already made her choice after being firmly rejected several times and losing hope. Plus the Crown Prince showed so much devotion and affection. It is not odd that she fell for him. So after making her choice, she was sticking with it. For herself and for her family.

  • eliteles1  VIP

    Very good !!!

  • Say_do

  • To buttress my point, Luomei thought that he murdered 100,000 people and burned the whole city to the ground and she still sent him tonics and gifts for TEN years after. She still wanted to marry the man. He told her that people grew up and changed, so he no more followed his mother's teachings or the moral values he held himself to and she still wanted the man. He was so focused on being a good general before that he was not distracted by beauty, but he was now doing crazy things to earn a woman's favor and she still wanted the man. The facts have been there since lol.
For the emperor, someone annihilated an entire town for no reason, thereby disobeying military orders from the emperor and the only things that happened were that he lost his army, his running for crown prince and was sent out of the capital. He did not lose his title as prince, was not demoted, was not forced to do labor or anything. He lived very well in his manor in the city he was sent to. He still had all his property, including his mansion in the capital. And when he requested to go back, to escort the Xiyan beauties, his request was granted. His father even still sent him precious things while he was away.
