🎉 Help Us Keep the MDL Challenge Going!
The annual MDL Challenge has become one of those fun little traditions that brings the community together every year — and that wouldn't have happened without the people who have been working behind the scenes to make it happen.

For the past years, they've put their time, creativity, and energy into planning the annual Challenge, coming up with themes and prompts, creating badges, keeping track of participants, answering questions, and making sure the whole thing actually happened.
Running something like this year after year is a lot of work, and we're incredibly grateful for everything they've contributed to the community. So before anything else: thank you for keeping this tradition alive! 🥰
The current team is now taking a well-deserved step back, which means we're looking for a new team of volunteers to take the Challenge into its next chapter! 💜
We're hoping to find around 4–7 creative, organized, friendly, and enthusiastic people who would like to work together to plan and run future MDL Challenges.
✨ What would the Challenge Team do?
🎨 Get creative
Come up with a fun theme or concept each year, think of interesting challenge ideas, and help create the badges and other fun elements for participants.
📝 Plan & organize
Work out the challenge structure, rules, prompts/tasks, schedule, and everything else needed to make the event run smoothly.
📊 Keep track of things
Monitor participants and their progress, keep things organized throughout the challenge, and put together the Hall of Fame once everything is finished.
💬 Be there for the participants
Answer questions, clarify prompts or rules, help people when something goes wrong, and generally be a friendly face throughout the challenge.
🤝 Work as a team
Share ideas, divide up responsibilities, solve unexpected problems together, and make sure nobody ends up doing everything alone.
🌟 Keep the community engaged
The goal isn't just to create a list of prompts — it's to make the Challenge something people actually look forward to participating in!
💡 Who are we looking for?
You don't need to be an expert at everything above. In fact, we'd rather have a team with different strengths and ideas.
Maybe you're the person who can come up with ten themes before breakfast.
Maybe you love spreadsheets and keeping everything organized.
Maybe you're great at talking to people and keeping participants motivated.
Maybe you're good at making badges and graphics.
Or maybe you simply have a lot of ideas about how to make the MDL Challenge even better.
If you are creative, reliable, organized, friendly, willing to communicate, and ready to work together as part of a team, we'd love to hear from you!
🐱 A few things to keep in mind
This is a longer-term volunteer project, rather than something that only happens during the Challenge itself. There will be planning and preparation beforehand, the actual Challenge to manage, and some wrap-up afterwards. All communication will take place on the official MDL Discord server. You can join here.
You don't have to commit to doing everything yourself — the whole point of having a team is to share the work. ❤️
And yes, you'll get to help decide what the future MDL Challenge looks like. 👀
