I had a long day but it was filled with food and pastry so I am not complaining.
American Fan:
I thought of you when making my list. LOL, j/k
LOL
Jadeheart:
I had a different observational experience with everything that you mentioned that I'll elaborate on below:
I initially viewed your post on my phone and thought to myself, "He did not just write a whole essay for me to read *side-eye*" LOL. Now looking at it on my laptop it looks shorter lol so my phone was obviously being dramatic lol. Anyway, you did leave a very thought-out perspective which I did appreciate reading and seeing things from your point of view.
Jadeheart:
Then, in an ironic twist, Q
I did not think of it from that point of view but ultimately I think that they were both selfish. I often find this sacrifice type of love as selfish because the party who does it oftentimes only thinks about themselves not being able to withstand the pain of the other. Now, why I see it as selfish is because they often disregard or ignore or forget the pain that their sacrifice will cause the other. In this case Min saw it as a matter of life or death hence me saying I understand him, but I would have preferred different writing choices as I stated in my original post.
Jadeheart:
I do not see this as being and "easy" thing for Min to do.
I do not think it was easy for Min to do. In my episode review of episode 7 I quoted a saying that said, "Do not make permanent decisions in temporary moments." I saw it rash but I also acknowledged the situation in my post.
Jadeheart:
That's truly deep and immensely meaningful on both their parts.
I see what you are saying and I can understand, upon reading your explanation, why you see it the way you do, and I agree; the writers clearly wrote it that way to reconstitute their relationship as a much stronger one, but I feel that way of going about it did more harm than good to the relationship because it creates the opportunity for doubt if a situation like this should reoccur. Definitely me having a personal preference for the writing going in a different direction.
Jadeheart:
so I can see his father conceding to him knowing that Q knew that he was behind Min breaking it off and subsequently moving away.
This I disagree with completely. If there is one thing that man has shown us is that he is extremely stubborn. Q got it from him. This man refuses to drop any case regardless of the danger it might put his family in and the destruction of his relationship with Q; he even lost his wife pursuing a case and yet still here he is again in another dangerous situation. Practically speaking, in accordance with his characterisation, Q would not have gotten that information; instead Q would have had to steal the information after a huge fight with his father.
Q's father also did not beg Min to break things he saw the vulnerable situation and manipulated it to his own ends.
I think I responded to all your paragraphs lol
On some points I agree:
Jadeheart:
As far as the NC scene
but on others lets agree to disagree.
