RE: Stay By My Side

It was an 8 for me. It's one of the few ghost-ish dramas I've watched.

I loved it - my favourite of the four VBL series that came out around the same time.
(Disclaimer: I have a weakness for fluffy cuteness, not to mention cuties.)

 Emrys:
Guys, I know this is not BL related but I have a question. What should I do if I have feelings for a friend?

Contrary to Onys's flattering referral, I'm the wrong one to ask, unless you want to learn from the many horrific mistakes of my youth, not to mention that online relationships weren't really a thing back then. I'll just say: (1) Don't have expectations and you won't be disappointed. (2) Get married so you don't have to deal with the torture of dating.

TB Ent : the entertainment company Kang Seo Joon is signed to-- is most likely a subsidiary of TB Group. The company owned by Han Tae Joo's father. We also see Kim Pil Hyun's role reprised (the frenemey in WYEL), where he is now older and the CEO of TB Ent. (which would make sense because his father was  a member of TB Group)

Ah, you're so observant. Yes, that makes sense (even if a tiny connection).

 American Fan:
I keep wondering why you're watching BL's if you don't like most of them.

To be honest, I've been wondering this too. It should be considered that negativity beyond normal review-type criticism may spoil the enjoyment of others. (I hope that was diplomatic.)

I think there have even been at least one person, maybe more, driven out of the group, which I find very sad.

 American Fan:
In K-drama words, OMOO!!

Using your words, I'll be "brutally honest"

You caught me in a fit, lol.  I was trying to stop seeing your posts here complaining about all the BL's you don't like, so I thought blocking you would help. It didn't work cuz apparently it doesn't apply to common threads the same members are part of.

That was yesterday and I was in a mood. I still am, lol. I couldn't think of a good way to use my words. I keep wondering why you're watching BL's if you don't like most of them.

Anyways, I didn't think you'd even notice and I didn't know how to fix it without friending you again, then you'd know what I did.  And well, here I am...you found me out.

I assumed I had triggered something. That's often the case online. I'm not aware of insulting anyone for liking what I don't. In which I case I would humbly apologize.

I'm just saying what I don't like. There's also plenty I do like. I also post about that. I posted yesterday that Until We Meet Again is the No. 1 in it's category, that I'm kind of in love with War, BossNouel and BillyBabe. I am living for this MewTul era, of which I made an emotional post over the weekend. We are all posting our opinions, even the negative ones.

E.g I think Earth/Cooheart is adorable.

We just have different tastes. It might seem like I'm hating everything because my list isn't as long as everyone else's in this thread ( I only have 83 so far) but there are shows I absolutely love.

And I'm watching BL because I'm a suicidal weirdo in conservative rural ireland and find comfort in shows & characters that make me feel less lonely. Still doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy every show I try.

Fair enough.  ~ have they specifically said that I've driven them out of the group?

Either way. Message heard loud and clear guys.

I'm not insulted. It's totally fine to not like the same BL's. I don't care about that. And I'm not easily offended. :-)

My issue is the negative posts outweighs the positive ones, or at least, for me they seem more aggressively expressed.  And more often than the positive ones, which has more impact.

I accept your apology and hope you don't feel that you can't express yourself here, just maybe a little less strongly?  If that's a fair request?

(3) Embrace singlehood and enjoy the freedom it comes with.

 p43425:
Nope, just joking. I

I was joking too! :-)

 p43425:
But this remake has at least one thing going for it: Nagumo Shoma. <3

Good point!!

Oof I thought you’d be perfect as the only married dude I know on here haha

Oh am I the only one blissfully unaware of what was going on lol

Honestly I didn’t really find Faery’s posts that bad, although I can understand the others

Speaking of negativity, I’d also like to apologise to anyone who may have felt offended/insulted by my response to Stay By My Side. (PS. I am the baby of the group so u guys have to forgive me hehe)

I'm sorry to the group for sharing my negative thoughts out loud. I couldn't find a way around it today and since honesty is the best policy, I tried my best. It's not in my nature to hurt others. I reached my limit and it came out in a public way.

In hindsight maybe I could have sent a DM before acting on my choice to block.

They are few and far between.  And I'm always uncomfortable with said moments. :-)

That’s alright, it’s good that we all said what we feel instead of just bottling it up and letting it get worse ig

Frankly, I haven't seen anything wrong with FaeryWren's comments. They are simply being themselves and expressing their likes and dislikes. I've never felt that their comments were aggressive. This is ridiculous.

 axdxex:

Just started To My Star and I found the first connection to Where Your Eyes Linger.

TB Ent : the entertainment company Kang Seo Joon is signed to-- is most likely a subsidiary of TB Group. The company owned by Han Tae Joo's father. Well spotted!

my thoughts exactly

 p43425:
I've seen all except "Taekwondo", and I have no clue what "kinda connected" means. If someone specifically knows, I'd be interested to hear. (Too lazy to google right now.)

"Where Your Eyes Linger": martial arts, TB Group, Kim Pil-Hyun, winter

"To My Star" and "To My Star Season 2: Our Untold Stories": Kim Pil-Hyun, TB Entertainment (TB Group), martial arts (mentioned in the final scenes of Season 1); kissing in a tunnel (Season 2), winter

"Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo": martial arts, reference to kissing in a tunnel, winter

Can't say much about "Blueming" because I've never bothered to rewatch it; it's my least favourite of Hwang Da Seul's works, though I did notice similar lighting patterns with "To My Star Season 2: Our Untold Stories".
