Your Sky: Uncut - episode 11

I held appreciation for the writing that went into the dialogue between Rak's mother, father and grandfather regarding Rak dating Fah. It was real.

If anything, the treatment of "coming out" in BLs (including even this one) is usually lightweight - after all, these shows are mostly "feel good", which is what I love about them.

My own experience with coming out (in a different era, and in a very socially conservative environment) was quite awful - and I can count my blessings, as at least I wasn't thrown out of the house, as literally happened to several who I knew back then (including even kids as young as 14 forced to live on the street). By comparison, the reaction of Rak's family is pretty mild.

(re "Boys in Love") It does indeed look great. I had assumed that it (and the rest of the 2025 line-up) would be a while in coming, as we're still waiting on three titles from 2024 Part 2 (“Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist”, “Ex-Morning” and "Revamp"), but supposedly they've finished filming, so I guess it'll be soon now, possibly the first of the 2025 line-up to release.

I wasn't able to watch my four Sunday Treasures yesterday (new episodes of "Your Sky", "P10L", "Boy Next World" and "Sangmin Dinnaeaw"), so I'm watching now (with my Monday morning coffee). What a great way to start the week. I'm lovin' all four!

Speaking of Monday, is anyone in this group watching "Ossan Thailand"? It doesn't really appeal so much to me (especially the comedy style), and I don't see this as the right role for Earth, but I'd be interested in hearing your own opinions.

I love Ossan’s Love, it’s my top airing drama rn and the only one I’m caught up with

I just realised something in this screenshot and I am at a loss of words lol

If you see it too, great eyes see alike heheh

I feel u Hia (pun intended)

I just went through my collection of BL titles and I don't remember if these titles were talked about, so wondering if anyone has seen the following?  What did you think?

Bad To Bed

Stay Still (short drama 2023)

Match Play

My Idol  (short movie)

Also:

Airing now:

I'll Turn Back This Time  (China)

Impression of Youth

Flirt Milk

And coming soon:

Gelboys   2/8/2025

Heart Stain   2/2025

Exclusive Love   2/14/2025

I've shared my "Waiting to Air" list before, but I've added new BL titles, so sharing again in case someone doesn't have them on their PTW list yet. (this list is not complete, it's my personal interest only)

 Jadeheart:

Wow tonight was intense. What incredibly emotional episodes of Your Sky and P10L. My heart got yanked out and shoved back in multiple times tonight.  Boy Next World was really good also.

I enjoyed all three tonight!! I should say almost, since I'm not watching Your Sky EP 11 until next week. (I read RX's spoilers earlier so thought I would wait, lol.) I just finished EP 10.

 p43425:

I thought it was excellent - and it doesn't really have the specific things you usually don't like about JBLs, so you might enjoy it (or maybe not, but you won't know unless you try).

I'm looking forward to it. I think I remember you talked highly of it. I made a mental note at the time. 😆

Airing now:

I'll Turn Back This Time  (China)

Impression of Youth

Flirt Milk

I'm watching these three and have commented (read back). In a nutshell:
"Turn Back" - pretty good, BL rather than bromance, leads are the side couple from "Meet You at the Blossom" (although it otherwise has nothing to do with "Blossom"). I'm enjoying it.
"Impression" - alright, although not at the level of some other recent Taiwan BLs. The most recent episode 3 left me feeling a bit more positive about it. Trigger warnings: age difference, teacher/student relationship (which may or may not be handled appropriately - not clear yet).
"Flirt Milk" - a total mess, very cliché, but with cuties

I don't know anything about the other titles you mentioned.

My heart drops whenever I hear about how kids are thrown out like that. It's soooo hard for them already. 😔

Thanks! I know Flirt Milk was mentioned and that you weren't a big fan. :-)   I'm looking forward to seeing I'll Turn Back This Time. I didn't realize it was already airing. I think I'll wait. I have so much on my plate already!

And it's waaaay past my bedtime! Good night :-)

Hmm. Yeah, it's a train wreck. - but I did also write that "train wrecks can be entertaining", and of course, my standards are famously low where cuties are involved.

I want to get my Currently Watching list to a manageable size before I start watching these, but they're next on my list.

RE: Flirt Milk. Oh no, that's a bummer. Keep us updated, so I know whether I should watch or not.

I'm sorry to hear that. I thought the Dad's reaction was realistic. Not defending him, just trying to see his point of view of having disappointment as an initial reaction. A lot of Asian (and probably non-Asian) parents have these "ideals" for what they want for their kids. I think the disappointment was not in Rak, but in the loss of Dad's own dreams of this "perfect family" for Rak. Just my 2 cents.

Are we allowed to add other JBL actors?
