Rant incoming- yyds released their 2025 lineup annndd there's NOT A SINGLE GL involved. Can y'all imagine!? Are they misogynistic, blind, delulu, fundashis or a little bit of EVERYTHING!? GL stans get pissed whenever I say that gls have long way to go because y industry still neglects them.

I havent even been paying attention to YYDS (https://www.instagram.com/yyds_ent/?hl=en). But given that there was a lesbian support couple in I Feel You Linger in The Air (which I hear is an excellent quality BL, though i havent watched yet), I am indeed quite surprised that there's not a single GL in their new line up. (For others: theyre also the company behind My Stand In, which has relatively mixed opinions, but was generally well received as well).

It's really sad how GL is neglected. While I get that BL was also slow to launch, you would think that at least the companies who were late getting into the BL game would want to jump on the opportunity to be in the beginning of the GL wave - because they are getting absolutely drowned in the BL scene by the pure amount of BLs coming out constantly now.

GLs do have a long way to go - in quantity and quality. I'm not saying that particularly to be hateful (i love GL, as my founding of this club hopefully speaks to), but with any new genre and new audience, it takes work to figure out, well, what works. Though I will say that GL has been doing better in BL in one sense already: diversity of plots being announced. It took wayyyy too long for BL to get out of university settings, and even longer to get into other genres (investigation, fantasy, etc). 

But, there are quite a bit of GLs announced for 2025, and more being announced pretty much every week. Keep your head up ;)

This isn't drama related or even Asian related, but it is GL.  I've stumbled across some novels at my local library, and I've already finished the first two books in the series. I really enjoyed them a lot. They are very well written with excellent pacing, interesting characters and a fun, satisfying and often very funny story. If you are a person who likes to read, and also likes GL stories, then I HIGHLY recommend these books.

Sleep With Me, Couple of Mirrors, Nv Er Hong, and Ayaka is In Love with Hiroko are favorites of mine!

I also really recommend
Tsukutabe (Japanese) - very mellow and chill
Pearl Next Door (Filipino) - comedy. Rather campy ig
