This isn't particularly ridiculous in any way. Japan recently debuted a new variety/sketch comedy shows airing on Saturday nights, and for some reason it rings a bell:
hahaha hopefully it's better than the one that's "Live from New York." Also, I'm pretty sure GE/NBC/Comcast now owns the entire northern hemisphere, lol
actually just look up "japanese alarm clock" on youtube and you'll find all sorts of crazy ones lol.
my brother in law got one for my sister in law that is a little cartoony looking creature sitting on a couch and when you talk to it in japanese it talks back. but we couldn't figure it out other than if you say "ogenki desuka" it answers back reeaaaally enthusiastically lol everything else we say it just says it doesn't understand us. must be the accent =P

My mom and I were going through her old vinyls, and I came across an album by a Japanese salsa band called Orquestra de La Luz. My mom told me that she's seen them live several times when they used to tour the US. It's kind of ridiculous how good they are.

I kind of love that SNL is in Japan. I wonder how many other countries it's spread to? How old is it now? almost 40?

I think this is actually something that needs to be seen to be believed. I wouldnt had thought of it for the world if someone had said it existed, but now... anything is possible, yep.

actually Japanese salsa bands arent so rare back in our mother's time. I know my mom danced to this one in particular, and there is also another Japanese salsa band if Im not mistaken, but I cant remember the name right now.... they are really good though.
