Jajaja...During RTP, I was having a yawning competition with myself...
I couldn't even blink while watching Ep. 19 of K2H...I was *like "Watch the psycho! Watch... NOOOOO" And then that video letter he left her...I was crying all the while. I had just barely stopped crying. I sobbed harder when he said something about not dying.... *sigh*

Since first catching the eyes of viewers through his small but tremendously memorable role in Architecture 101 earlier this year, Jo Jeong Seok’s popularity has, since then, only skyrocketed even higher thanks to his role as Eun Shi Kyung, the royal guard in MBC’s The King 2Hearts.
His popularity growth was verified recently by a source close to the actor who revealed Jo Jeong Seok has, so far, received over twenty different offers from various production agencies to cast the hot actor in their production.
According to the same source, the actor’s popular love line with Lee Yoon Ji in the drama is ensuring his popularity for mellow romance productions while his hilarious comedic turn as Nab Ddeuk in Architecture 101 has already proven the actor’s versatility.

'The King 2 Hearts' Jo Jung Suk Sacrifice Himself for Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Gi)?
On the 24th of this month, the very last episode of the MBC drama 'The King 2 Hearts' will be aired. With the ending up in the air, the anticipation is building up for the finale.
In the 18th episode that aired on the 17th of May featured Eun Shi Kyung (Jo Jung Suk) working as a double agent for Kim Bong Gu at Club M. The whole plot was created to save Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Gi) and all of the remaining royalty. However, Shi Kyung was brutally tortured by Bong Gu and eventually turned him against Lee Jae Ha. And at the end of the 18th episode, Shi Kyung aimed a gun to Lee Jae Ha's head, following the orders of Bong Gu.
From everything Shi Kyung has shown the audience, the viewer’s strongly believed that Shi Kyung would not betray Lee Jae Ha even with the brutal tortures he received Bong Gu. People believed that Shi Kyung pretended to be on Bong Gu's side until he could protect and serve Lee Jae Ha again.
However, during the whole process, the safely of Lee Jae Ha becomes jeopardized. Viewers believe that when Jae Ha's life is threatened, Shi Kyung will put himself in danger in order to save him. Prior to his death, Shi Kyung kissed his love, the princess Lee Jae Shin, as though he was saying farewell to her and left to go find Bong Gu with his mind made up.
People are predicting that somebody would eventually die in the drama 'The King 2 Hearts' since the drama is not a typical light hearted romantic comedy. However, even more anticipation is building up after the representatives of the drama released a statement saying that there will be a surprise ending that nobody could have ever predicted.

I have posted these thoughts of mine on the DC thread already and I apologize in advance for copying them here too. It just seems ridiculous to squeeze my brain in search of new words when the long and short of the discourse is the same.
In white: Every single action by Shi Kyung previous to his leaving for China has pointed at his death, but I still didn't want to believe it. When Bung Gu shoots him, I didn't even cry; I simply covered my face with both hands thinking: they did it. They killed him. One of the most endearing characters ever created is dead.
Which leads me to the second consideration: when a drama creates characters we grow so attached to, to the point we want them to be happy as if they were people we knew in the flesh, then the drama is a damn masterpiece. My overall empathy throughout this show has been so strong it has turned physical.
I too was reminded of City Hunter's prosecutor. The difference is, that was an intellectual pain: why do good, honest people have to die? Here the pain is deeper because I felt so much for Shi Kyung. The way his character has been outlined from the beginning, makes him the kind of person I would love (as a friend) in real life.
Jae Ha and Hang A are wonderful together. I'm madly in love with them both. Whether they are together or separated, their bond is made so believable by the acting of both, I'm in awe. And before someone accuses me of being disloyal to Binnie, each drama lives its own life and holds a little space in my heart, I don't need to compare. Joo Won and Ra Im were perfect in their fictional world, and so are Jae Ha and Hang A in theirs. (This is because I'm well known on DC for being a die hard SG lover)
I promise my undying love to Hang A as a character. I love that she insists on being treated as a PERSON instead of as a WOMAN. I love that she protects her man in an active way, that this is not the usual "you're a woman, you're weak, I need to protect you even from yourself". Jae Ha tries, but it's a lost battle, and he knows it. She's the strong one, and the source of his strength too. He, on the other hand, has grown so much as a person, as a king, as a lover, it's amazing. We as viewers have witnessed it all in its incredibly believable progression. Awesome.
This dynamic is one of the factors, if not the main one, which makes me adore this drama. Despite the suffering, and the heartbreak, and the anger.

*sigh* I have to agree with you on this, Rita, I can't claim it was surprising for me, I'll just say I just had another reaction to the happening... it's just that I felt SO wronged (as a passionate ShiKyung fan) SO upset he had to be the sacrifice... I was crying like a baby when their candy is taken away from them unfairly...*

it was surprising me, actually...
*at ep 18,, i knew it he will die,,he got too much airtime..sweet scenes..means scenes for the memoriam...
but...he didn't die at ep 18...so i had hope...
and then again, he betrayed bonggu...so again, i knew it he will die..i thought that crazy girl;the bonggu' bodyguard will kill him..
but again, she died...so i felt relieve..
but i never imagine bonggu has a gun with him..so still, i was shocked..
this show is really killing me...(but i love it.. :P )

Well written!!! I also feel that the fact that I am so invested in the characters of this drama is a tribute to the acting. I can watch a drama without getting upset even when something bad happens, but not this time. My emotions were all over the place. I love Hang Ah...she is cute with Jae Ha, but also strong and smart. LOVE IT!!!
