I am totally loving this KD...I almost wish I had waited until it was over to watch it all in one go, because this waiting is killing me. Are we allowed to discuss the show or is that to spoilerish???
This drama is so good, but the latest episode was pretty sad

Of course you ARE allowed ^^ That's why this is called a Discussion Thread! :)
All you have to do, is to write that your comment contains a spoiler, or write the spoilerish parts in white, so the ones who DON'T want to be spoilt, won't look at the parts ^^

Please, do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ok...then this is spoilerish. The King and Queen talking about their future and then just passing away quietly like that totally made me cry for a while. I still tear up thinking about it. It was understated but dramatic. I loved it even though it was sad. I'm probably weird like that. LOL Do any of you know what other dramas Lee Jae Kyu has directed? I think he did Beethoven Virus which I really enjoyed, but I can't find anymore information. I thought I would watch more directed by him.

If he directed Beethoven Virus, then this is the second time he works with the... Hong Sisters screenwriters, who wrote both K2H and BV. Upon discovering that they are another pair of Hongs, I had to laugh. I dislike the famous ones, but it seems these alter-ego are a lot to my liking.
From what I read, Lee Jae Kyu also directed Fashion 70's and Damo.

I agree with you about the scene. I thought that the entire episode was brilliantly directed. Everything was somehow muted, mostly the last few minutes, when the news of what happened is conveyed. I think I felt it so much because this is a little how one feels when receiving such a blow: stupefied. As sad as it was, I loved it.
On a side note, I'm enchanted by the music of this drama. It's wonderful.

For sure!!! That is exactly right....stupefied.

Oh and thanks for the information...I will check those dramas out!!!

ITA that the music in this drama is great!!!

You know, I was more influenced by the fact, that whatever they do they do it in front of thousands of people... everyone watches them... so even their sadness over the fact that they lost the members of their family can't be conveyed all that honestly...
I remember my mouth hanging open, when Jae Ha left everything and went to the hospital to his sister (I mean, everybody totally understands that, right?) and his mom started getting angry with him, and told him to be more serious... but when they were alone... she became a mother who has just lost a son and a daughter (king's wife)... that fact blew the air out of me... so touching and at the same time, so much strength needed for that...
And about the music... I totally agree, it's mind-blowing and heavenly... and perfectly fitting...
oh...and is it bad that I totally dig the bad girl that works for the crazy magician guy??? lol I love her since of style.

Very true. :) That's how they have been raised as members of royalty, who are not supposed to let their feeling show. What I meant with the muted tone though, is the direction style. They could have gone with the usual desperation, people crying and everybody running around. And yet, they chose a softer way, even for the private moments. I was reminded of moments in my life, when, commoner or royal, some things are simply not digested with outburst and screams.
The same can be said about episode 8 - which I know you watched too. And which, I am in need of discussing too... as soon as possible, lol.

Oh, the dark lady killer. A deranged character like John Mayer (why does he have a name like one of my favourite singers? LOL), could never have a "normal" henchman in tow. He needed to hire none less than Trinity from The Matrix.

First of all high five for John Mayer ^^ (I'm still crazy about his Gravity... for the like 3rd year...)

Apart from the muted parts, I was really-really very touched by the change in Hang-Ah's character, like before we saw her as a strong soldier and a cute inexperienced girl, and we get to see her as a supportive and strong woman who took care of her future husband's sister, and then gave him strength so cutely and so affectionately... I'm loving her character more and more, and hope she will be a great supporter for Jae-Ha, cause I'm sure he's going to need her so much more as the time passes...

Oh, yeah...John Mayer rocks!!! I didn't realize that girl was Trinity from The Matrix...totally cool!!! Episode 8 sucked all emotions out of me, I was crying one minute and laughing the next. I may go crazy waiting for next week.

Wait wait wait!!! LOL, she ISN'T actually Trinity from Matrix :D Rita was just describing her looking like Trinity ^^

I agree....Hang Ah has really stepped it up!!! I think even the Queen Mother is warming up to her. I love Ha Ji Won as an actress anyway. She is playing this part to perfection. I'm worried about the secretary dude that lied about it being an accident to Jae Ha. Now they don't know to be on the lookout for John Mayer and company. It makes me wonder if something is going to happen to Hang Ah and Jae Ha in the future...something "dramatic" lol

lol....ooops!!! My bad. I don't really remember Trinity...maybe I should rewatch Matrix.
