SPOILER EP. 15
I was for the first time disappointed with the drama. How could they have handled the surgery outcome like that? All the tension they built the past episodes just to wrap it up with a time jump. Sucks. At the same time, BaT was right saying the core story has always been about DGJ's image/pride VS his love for AJ; Dokko's heart problems being only used as a red line to connect it all and spice up the drama a little bit.
Anyway, DGJ LIVES, YAY! <3
(and everything I wanted for the finale happened from what I read... shhh...)
Yep, I'm co-signing onto your comment. This episode kind of knocked the wind out of my sails. What should have been a climactic episode felt like a filler episode, and a lot of the conflict was just rehashing what we already know will be a problem because it's been discussed for the past six episodes or so. Really, two months have passed and no one has made any progress whatsoever? I'm also kind of annoyed that Ae Jung was denied her Moment. I guess it's unrealistic to have her barge into the OR to sing her song and revive Dokko, and I appreciate that the Hong Sisters went for believability over the cheese factor. However, I wish Ae Jung had done something to prove
her devotion; it's mucking up my Ae Jung is the Knight theory. I just feel like the time jump took away any meaning the heart surgery could have had, and revealed it to be a cheap and somewhat unnecessary plot device.
But there definitely were a lot of moments that made me like the episode: the coming together of the child symbolism sewn throughout the show (the constant use of toys to describe emotions, fairy tales, superheros, Dokko's own childishness and his bromance with Ding Dong) to produce a critique of the childishness of the celebrity world and even the childishness of adulthood; Dokko's televised confession and how beautifully acted the progression of Ae Jung's emotions was.
Onto episode 16! From the spoiler photos I've seen, the ending should be very satisfying.
