The reasons I enjoy this show to the point of itching for the next episode, watching it raw and only understand a few words here and there, reading recaps and just generally squeeing when the subs come up while I put aside things that need to be done are threefold. Gong Hyo Jin, Cha Seung Won and The Hong Sisters. There is nothing better than watching very talented actors play out scenerios both comedic and dramatic with such skill. They make even ridiculous situations entertaining.

The first drama I watched with Gong Hyo Jin was Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy. After it was over I was googling her like crazy trying to find other projects she was in then searching out places to watch her more. She is so great at being able to be both funny and sympathetic. Her face is so expressive and I have to be impressed with her as an actress. She knows how to pick her projects. A lot of people pick Pasta apart, saying it was a show that had no plot. I don't know...I know I was entertained the whole time watching. Great acting ad chemistry! They pulled it off.

Cha Seung Won is the same for me: Able to pull off that intense drama and yet able to be ridiculously silly and somehow they both work for him. When I heard this pairing was going to be in a drama together? Then, that it was written by the Hong Sisters? I am so onboard this train! And 4 episodes in...LOVE LOVE LOVE. I'm just sitting back, thoroughly enjoying the ride so far. I hope it keeps up it's amazing promise! 12 episodes to go and I already love most all the characters.

I like the central themes and story lines... The main characters are already rich. Ae Jung has a lot going on. I want to see where the story takes her. What happened with Treasure Girls? And I like the fact that right now, I really can't tell who she'll fall for in the end...I mean, I know but I don't know...ya know? How in the world is messy, snobby, neurotic Dokko Jin going to win her?

Even the moments Ae Jung has with Pil Joo are ones I anticipate because their chemistry is really there. It's a sweeter, softer kind of interaction and seems real. Usually in a drama, I find the scenes with the second lead have a sort of tragic air to them very early on so the moments seem almost forced or unreal. I don't have that feeling when I watch these two interact.

I'm not as interested in Se Ri yet. They haven't really ramped up her "badness" yet. She seems a pretty mild villianess so far but there is lots of time for her to show her colors.

All I can say is, I can't wait for this weekend when the subs are up! This story is making my stressfull real life a little easier to take.
I <3<3<3 this series. Enough said.
@jeanie65jh

I want to marry your post. Uh, I mean, I totally agree with everything you said. The Greatest Love is Hong Sisters at their best: zippy, punny, emotionally resonant, a dash of toilet humor for those of us who never matured past the age of 4 (*ahem*), etc. I'm relatively new to the scene, so this is the first drama I've seen Gong Hyo Jin in, but I'm already a fan. I'm not sure if the following counts as a spoiler, but just in case--POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT That scene where Ae Jung thinks Pil Joo is trying to sponsor/buy her just killed me: it was a hilarious situation, but the tears Hyo Jin shed as Ae Jung were so sincere that I really felt Ae Jung's humiliation-intertwined-with-pride come through, which lent the whole thing a touch of poignancy. I was just blown away by Gong Hyo Jin at that moment, and am now searching for other dramas she's been in because WOW. As for Cha Seung Won, I only know him from Athena, but he's another revelation in this drama. I almost exploded from the meta when Dokko Jin's manager urges him to take on a role in a melodrama to change up his tough guy image. Oh, Hong Sisters! I think what makes their dramas so great is that you can tell that they're HUGE drama fans themselves, so they're scripts are just chock full of knowing winks and nudges.

I'm with you on this one. Right now, I don't see the chemistry between Ae Jung and Dokko Jin. To be honest I'm still a bit puzzled over how he suddenly developed his crush on her, but I'm not going to question that too deeply since Dokko Jin in love makes me a happy little camper. I see more chemistry between her and Pil Joo just because they are so earnest and sweet with each other. I'm guessing Se Ri and Pil Joo are fated to be together as the second leads, but while Se Ri hasn't really done anything in particular to incur my wrath, I don't think she's pleasant enough for Pil Joo. Then again, it's only the fourth episode... But EEP! I want the weekend to come sooner!
Oh wow the Hong Sisters made this? I should start watching it then.
@ BaT, If you like the leads' acting, then some dramas I recommend you check out are:

City Hall
Pasta (like jeanie already mentioned)
Thank You

Although you probably know of these already since you've been researching, I felt compelled to mention them.

City Hall is actually at the top of my To Watch list after I saw jeanie and (I think maybe possibly) you mentioning it positively in another thread!
City Hall is a personal favorite of mine. I adore it completely.
For The Greatest Love fans in the forum:

The National Treasure Girls MV for Dugeun Dugeun/Thump Thump has been released!

So wonderfully old school!
<3 it. Isn't this the song that makes Dokko Jin's heart go Thump Thump. :P LOL.
This LOVE happening because of Heart Surgery Doctor, He the one who play The National Treasure Girls - Dugeun Dugeun/Thump Thump while doing heart surgery on Dok Go Jin, DGJ's heart know well the song.
If DGJ's former girlfriend Kang Se Ri has ever played the song to him, then he would fall in love with her, instead Goo Ae Jung's ringtone catches DGJ's heartbeat hahaha :D
Really damn hilarious Doctor you should apply the patient's husband/wife to sing recorded & played during heart surgery hahaha! :D
Dying to watch this! The Hong Sisters are amazing at what they do.I hope they write a drama every year LOL. And I absolutely agree that Pasta was entertaining. It didnt have a plot but I mean the leads did have the chemistry factor which carried the show. The supporting cast was great too. I enjoyed it!
