I think many of us here have been around for a long long time, watching Korean dramas before almost no one knew about Korean entertainment, before the whole K-pop boom and everything started. Do you guys remember D-addicts? Haha. Good old times.

What are your Korean drama favorites from that era? Like from the 90s to early 2000s.

Here are some of my classics:

Let's go to School Sang Doo (2003)

Love Story in Harvard (2004)

Attic Cat (2003)

What classic ”old” Korean dramas did you love, and do you still remember/rewatch today?

Lets remember the "good old times", even though now also is "good times" with many good dramas ^_^ Share your classics!

For me it will have to be these.

I'm Sorry, I Love You (2004) - Gosh i still remember how heart broken i was :'(

Full House (2004)

Wonderful Life (2005)

My Girl, What Happened in Bali, My Lovely Sam Soon.  There was another one, Love Letter, that I liked.  Not very popular, but I liked that one.

  • The Final Match (1994)
  • Sandglass (1994)
  • Life is beautiful (2001)
  • Wht happened in Bali
  • Full House
  • My name is kim samsoon

Right now i am actually trying to look for old dramas, especially those in the 1990's. Able to find medical brothers, tomato, first love, wuri's house. Still looking for Star in my heart, honesty/truth, feelings, rustic period, eyes of dawn, love letter, moon of seoul, miss mermaid. If anyone knows where ro watch these. Please link me up.

Some of these are on MBC Classic's youtube channel (raw, and in many pieces, so I linked the first part and you'll have to search for the rest):

Star in My Heart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNssLOKzEf8
Eyes of Dawn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhcYOuelDHA
Moon of Seoul (although I can't find the first episode...): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yl9I7DgM9A
Miss Mermaid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3NWP3_4VBA

Honesty is on viki (subbed): https://www.viki.com/tv/29487c-truth

Many old SBS dramas are available through SBS VOD (raw, again, and this only appears to work using IE for me at the moment):

Rustic Period: http://allvod.sbs.co.kr/allvod/vodProgramDetail.do?pgmId=00000224904

You have to look using the native title, or know the alternate English titles to find them.  I didn't have any luck finding Love Letter.

And this is why I wish there was a place on each drama's page where we could collect the official/legal links for dramas.  But there you go :)

Happy watching!

For it's Hotelier, Vineyard Man and Delightful Girl Chun Hyang!

@zeamays

Ohmygosh. Thanks so much for looking for it. Honestly, I already got those link of raw part in MBCclassic (especially Miss Mermaid and Star in my Heart). I saw some parts but decided to look for the whole video cause I want to watch those with subs that I got from subscene.

Truth in viki, ooo.  I've previously had subscription with them, but i had problems watching thus I stopped. but i guess with this drama, I should probably get on it again.

But I am so stoked about he links you gave on Rustic Period. I've been able to search so little about it for months, thus thank you thank you thank you thank you so so so much. you are awesome!!!

and I know what you mean, dramalinks for drama videos would be ssooooo awesome. especially the old ones. they are so darn hard to search for.

You're welcome!  I wasn't sure it would be there, but I thought it would be worth checking, since I know SBS has a lot of old ones for free.

And since I posted up there, I guess I should say what my favorite "old" dramas are, haha.  I didn't start watching kdrama until 2010, but I guess I still count as old since I remember d-addicts.  Waiting for the latest devilslob KBS World batch and whatnot ;)  Although I still visit there for subtitles, so it's not like it's gone, just different.

The oldest kdrama I've watched is M.  Which I just watched a couple of months ago.  It was...interesting.  Not sure I totally recommend, but it was worth watching, just to get a taste of what a 90's drama was like.

Someone already mentioned Attic Cat, and that was one of the first kdramas I watched.  I guess my favorite "old" drama, though, is Taereung National Village.  I enjoyed that one way more than I expected to.  I'm usually not that into romance-based things, but it impressed me.

For me it will always be My Girl, I have seen it an infinite times and it always procures me the same emotions. I have never seen a drama which I like as much as this one. Full house is the second drama which I'll never forget.

a love to kill

i hated the ending omg i still think about it til this day

I know one old K-Drama is watched is that of an Winter Sonata, an K-Drama that is responsbile for popularizing Hallyu wave to the Asia in 2000s and all over the world in 2010s!

Definitely "I'm Sorry, I Love you"!!

Winter Sonata 2002

Stairway to Heaven 2003

Jewel in the Palace 2003

Full House 2004

My Girl 2005

My Lovely Sam Soon 2005
