I mean granted, being a star does make you a little big headed, but its also hard work, and if your not willing to do the work, then don't freakin sign up for it. I have liked this drama from the get go, a few times it made me go "WTF?" but all in all I have enjoyed it, and for the lead female to pull this princess syndrome crap really pisses me off, I feel so bad for all the other people working on this show.. I do have a question tho, what shows are getting the high ratings? I started to watch Protect the Boss last night and I am not to impressed by it..

from what i watch i know scent of a woman and protect the boss are big in ratings. omg you dont like PTB? its like my new favorite show! its so hilarious and the characters are sooo awesome...

So she took a long ..16hour? flight to LA. Now she's got to turn around and fly right back, for 16 more hours and immediately get to work at her 20+ hour job.

Why do I find this so humorous? I don't wish her ill, I swear but...it's just kind of silly that she had NO REST! and made it worse for herself. *shaking my head*

I think she would have slept on the flight though, and been able to have some time to herself with no phone ringing and no agent and producers and other people bugging her. And she would have seen her mum and family in LA for the few hours she had there and that would have helped too. That said, of course she's still exhausted.

That might be true since the last episode's ratings did have an increase.

When I typed that I had only watched the first 2 episodes, and it really hadn't made that good of an impression.. after I watched the 4th episode I am hooked...

As for what RF said about it maybe being done for the ratings, thats what I thought when I was talking about it to my Aunt..

I just hope that they accept Han Ye Seul back and continue the filming. Just let her finish the last 8 eps. That way changing the storyline could be avoided. Whatever issues they have with her, they could settle it after the drama.

i agree. What's most important is that they finish the show. All of the viewers have been anxious to finish it.

Cynical or not, it sounds very believable to me. This would be the best thought plan of Myung-Wol the Spy, an otherwise stupid drama - if RF is cynical, I'm donwright rude.
Whatever the case, I dropped the show at ep. 2 but was truly captivated by this "real-life" story. I'm sure I'm not the only one, which makes the rating-theory all the more concrete.
Now I'm just sitting with my popcorns and while watching other things waiting for the screenwriter to change by episode 12, like the latest korean fashion dictates. Ha!
Alright so I just got done with episode 11. After all this drama that went on beforehand about the filming schedule and how she was having health issues - I found it ironic that her character was suffering through the same thing. She wasn't in this episode as much, either, it didn't appear, which makes sense after what went on.

I guess things are finally starting to tie together now, since Comrade is looking for the same guy Kang Woo was looking for in the beginning episodes. I'm guessing this guy has some connection with the ancient books, but I still don't get the significance of searching for them yet. The thing I liked about this episode was how at the end when Eric confessed to everything and announced on television that he loves Myung Wol. Only thing is...of course she has to take off...it wouldn't be a drama without the main lead doing something like this. Wondering what's in store for the future episodes...and if there's going to be anymore drama with the actors
Episode 12. Wow. The ending got that for sure but the episode? It lacked something that really made teh entire series worth watching. I am not sure how I feel about this episode, I think I will have to watch 13 to really make a judgement about the situation as a whole.
Anyone else notice KNG's cameo in SMW?! *giggles* It made me so happpppy!
I am on the fence if 13 redeems 12 but either way it was a plot mover. I love how Kang Woo loves her so much and it really hurts him, he shows his pain so eloquently. Also, he is finding out the x in 2x^2 but he is making it overcomplicated by taking the derivative and whatnot instead of some simple arithmetic. He is getting close to teh correct conclusion but getting some extraneous and confusing extras along the way...
I wonder what all the Han Ye Seul "incident" fuss was about when I see the drama is still being filmed and aired, and getting quite intense at that. Rating may be low in Korea and I admit the plot may be surreal but it has been well-rounded around the Myung Wol-Kang Woo-Choi Ryu dynamics so far. It's just not as funny as the beginning -honestly it has never been that funny, rather unseemly situations that made me laugh- but most comedies lose their fun along the last episodes (The Greatest Love, Lie To Me, to name a few...). I actually like that we get deeper under the characters' skin and I'm curious as to how it'll all end. Also, even if I haven't seen him in other dramas, I think Eric delivers a particularly good performance here despite the real drama going around.
So what happened to this drama? Did it end? Did the actress fly to Timbuktu with a one way ticket? Did the whole North Korean secret service move to South Korea and live happily ever after all cuteness and idol oriented?

I wonder if there's a compassionate soul who is willing to tell me about a drama I didn't watch (and don't intend to) but had a great time reading the comments for?
;)
For anyone who has given up on this show: I will admit, the first 6 episodes are truly insane in a crazy/confusing way but by episode 7 everything changes. The story becomes focused and just plain addicting. The romance develops intensely and you cant help but start to get emotionally invested in these characters. During the first 6 eps i watched in boredom with the predictable plot, not caring whether Kang Woo or Myung Wol will ever get together. I only continued because I enjoyed Han Ye Seoul's acting and wanted to see how she succeeds in her mission. But seriously ep 7 changed everything! The plot became very unpredictable. After this episode, I waited impatiently for the next ep. I repeat, anyone who has given up on this show, seriously consider coming back to it. Even if you have to skip eps till you get to ep 7. A drama that started off as my least favorite drama of the summer has quickly risen to be my favorite summer drama. Any drama that can do that definitely deserves a shout out=D
Man, talk about ending fail. The ending had the chance to redeem the show and fell on its face. Pointless 'death'? Check. WTFery? Checkx100
After watching the last episode...I gotta agree with Han. I think they could've ended the drama at the end of episode 16 [minus the last 3O seconds] and it'd have been better. How did she not die..? The entire last 2O minutes of the show I'm asking myself how she managed to go back and not get killed. I think the ending left too many gaps - and it wasn't really necessary to skip a year. I think I'm going to give this drama a 7 overall - some of it was enjoyable but I found myself bored with the last few episodes. It kinda seemed too predictable, too. It's not a horrible drama, but not the best
