I was also wondering when the hell will he win but I got my answer at the end of episode 16 :D
I guess I should give up on romance in this drama? I want Tae Joo and Seo Yoon to be together so badly but he's still in love with Seol Hee and wants to crush Seo Yoon :( But why is it written in the synopsis if it's not going to happen?
Do not believe synopsis, that's the lesson I got from watching Big. The actual plot was completely different from what was written there, so I guess Golden Empire can be the same case.

Yup me too, I always felt bad for Min Jae. He always end up as a loser but not this time :D

LOL just keep your expectations low. I don't think this drama will focus on romance even if it happens.

Oh, that drama! =_= But on a bright note, this drama's screenwriters are so much better from the Hong Sisters who wrote 'Big'.

That I am sure of ;) But I don't like it when the synopsis says something completely different than actually happens in a drama. But in this case I'm pretty happy there is no romance between the leads so far, this drama doesn't have the usual obvious OTP and keeps us guessing - that's rare in k-dramas.

Did you give up hope that it will happen eventually? Maybe in the upcoming episodes there will be some romantic development here and there. I am not saying that romance is good for this type of drama but since they promised to bring romance; they should keep their promise.

Yeah, I pretty much gave up on romance between Tae Joo and Seo Yoon, I don't see how it could happen in a believable way, but who knows... this is a korean drama after all ;)
I think I am the only one who don't want romance in this drama. I mean don't you think it will ruin things? If it comes at the last two or three episodes, it will be unrealistic.
I agree on the unrealistic part; I thought they would bring romance sooner so that it would feel natural but now; it's only six episodes left and even if they start it now; it won't fel right. So the drama is better off without it.
This drama is getting more intense; I think I am beginning to hate Tae Joo.
I thought I'd never hear myself say this but I feel bad for Han Jung Hee. And you have to love what she advised Seo Yeon if she wanted to keep Tae Joo as her husband. (That was funny as hell.) There really are no clear cut villains and heroes in this drama, and I think that's why it's so riveting. Every character has a very compelling reason for the choice he or she makes, and in episode 20 Won Jae finally did something worthy of a first son, thanks to Min Jae's father who, in my opinion, is with Sung Jae and Seol Hee the most admirable character. Can't wait how this ends.
I think we may have a silent love between husband/wife, the unrealistic is a big romance and conclusion of this battle in 4 episodes
I watched the first episode of this drama on Monday and I really like it. I hope that it keeps my attention all the way through.
If they bring the freaking romantic reunion where Seo Yeon and Tae Joo live happily ever after in the two last episodes of this drama; I will be seriously pissed.
I want Tae Joo to go to prison and Seo Yeon to win everything; that's the best way to end this drama.
