Flower Boy Ramyun Shop scores high ratings

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop just premiered two days ago, and already the headlines are touting its high ratings and the “Jung Il-woo Effect,” and noting that with its performance and positive reception, it rivals a broadcast drama.
Monday’s premiere brought in a 1.19% rating, hitting 2.27% at its highest point. Notable was its performance among the 20- and 30-something female demographic, where it was No. 1.
Tuesday’s Episode 2 improved on those numbers, recording an average rating of 1.45% with a high of 2.36%, again No. 1 in its timeslot among all cable offerings. Granted, that first-place designation doesn’t include the Big Three’s dramas, which air one hour before Ramyun Shop’s 11pm timeslot, but those are great numbers for cable.
Meanwhile, Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’s buzz has also revived interest in the novel it’s based on, Sweet and Sour Bakery. The novel depicts the story of young men who are distant from their families finding loyalty and hope amongst each other.

I can't wait to watch this! As soon as I get home from family wedding crazy time...this is tops on my list.
I watched the first episode...
First impressions: Cha Chi Soo resemble so much with the character that Kim Bum played in BOF. I like his winks. :D
I don't like the main female character... she has no pride, no personality, no dignity, no brain. She's the worst girl in the world.
There are so many new actors.. even Cha Chi Soo's group of friends reminds me of F4 from BOF. Here is F5. lol
Jung Il Woo is trying to look younger like Son Ye Jin tried too in Personal Taste. He acts cute but it's not very convincing.
I don't like the background music either. Really, I'm watching a drama, not playing games.
It wasn't boring but I really hope that it will get better in the next episodes.
I agree with you, yoona, about the main female... I don't like her at all at this point, hopefully she gets better...
The first episode really impressed me. Any drama that can make me laugh like an idiot right from the get go has potential. I really like JIW's character because at this point he is unlikable but likeable at the same time=D The main female I agree is not a winner in terms of likability but at this point I dont hate her or anything. I hope by the end of the drama I'll be able to say I loved her character and Im glad she ends up with JIW's character=) I'm hoping the solid writing continues...

i really like this show. yes, the female lead seems a little bland, but i think that might be on purpose. i mean really, arent there times when all girls feels a little Eun Bi-ish, like nothing's going our way and it's just left you all blah and wondering what you have to offer. i think she has a very real girl feel to her. not all girls are geniuses with sparkling personalities who always know what to say or total sweet hearts who ease the sorrows of by their mere presence. i get the feeling she's an island of normal floating in a ocean of improbable.

if nothing else she's sure to be a laugh b/c she seems to only be able to experience shame in hindsight, leading her to embarass herself every 5 minutes.
I'm still patiently waiting for subs...I really need to learn Korean...lol

i've started to learn recently, it's a lot easier than any of the romance languages IMO.
