Like the main couple always treat each other with a lot of respect and formality and maybe to the occassional viewer who doesnt know much about their culture combined with the lead's values might even miss the romance between them :)

Encounter before the show decided to spell it out for me, all I saw was a lot of respect and admiration.

The Good Wife This is the japanese remake of a US show and they managed to convey all the doubts and temptations the original story had but in such a innocuous way rather thanthe overtly sexual references in the US version. The comparison was very interesting.

Rich Man, Poor Woma frankly, I didn t notice when their relationship became romantic.

Kimi ga Kokoro ni Sumitsuita

My Sunshine this ML is so rigid, I really didn t understand their relationship. He treated her like the stray cat that always comes back, and then you just decide to take it in. But then come to find out she was the apple of his eyes. OK...

I don t fully understand these relationships but I love all these shows nonetheless.

Awesome, thanks :)

Awesome, thanks :)

Have you watched any of these? If so do they fit your description?

Also, please share some examples too, I'm actually interested in that plot.

  • Dong Yi: Their romance is told in words rather than in physical interactions.
  • Hotarugusa
  • Look Tard: A subtle and respectful romance because of the male lead's social status.
  • Maids: Also a subtle romance because of social status and hardships the main couple face.
