Certain Text Symbols + Following Text Appear As a Blank Comment

If you type a code bracket + a slash + a 3 to indicate a broken heart like this: in a comment on a drama page (e.g. my reply in this comment thread: https://mydramalist.com/28725-eagles-and-youngster#comment-2195524) the text symbols and all of the text after the text symbols do not appear. If the text symbols are at the beginning of the comment, it just looks like a blank comment.

Exactly like that. Looks like it's not an issue in the forums, which is good :) I'm guessing the comment system just doesn't like the < symbol.
