From Best to Worst – BL
All BL dramas/movies I've seen ranked from best to worst in falling order.
I take storyline and entertainment value into account; not only focusing on the relationships.
Sometimes my rating of the drama/movie doesn't match the ranking, but all of the titles are in the right spot on this list.
So far I'm only counting dramas/movies where BL is the main focus of the story.

1. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
I loved it so much! The story was good, the music was amazing and the acting was incredible! I just love the characters so much! Especially Nanon's character, Pran. The Gifted used to be one of my favourite Thai dramas, but I didn't think much of Nanon in that one. But in Bad Buddy... I'm blown away by how natural the characters are. No cringe, no stiffness. Just great acting and chemistry ^^

2. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
I liked this drama a lot! ^^ It's been on my radar since I first read about it, but I wanted to watch it after it had completed airing. Today it's December 19th so I watched the entire drama today~ I have to confess that I read the title as Keita Hatsukoi (meaning "Keita First Love") but I found out that I had read the title wrong and that it's actually called Kieta Hatsukoi (meaning "My First Love That Disappeared") lol ^^;
I liked all the main characters, they were all so kind and cute! Although this is not the best BL I've seen, it still deserves a 9 from me because I had a lot of fun watching it. It's a lot like the shojo manga adaptation movies I've seen, except it's a boy's love story instead of a straight couple. So it's kind of nostalgic (?) to me, in a sense lol. This wasn't even a movie, but it felt way too short! I wish it was longer! ㅠㅠ Am I selfish for wishing for a kiss in the end? I guess one shouldn't expect it when it's pure BL love stories. I was actually really surprised when we got a kiss in (spoiler) Light on Me. I didn't expect one there. But maybe partly because my hopes have risen thanks to dramas like those; I can't help but to carry some expectations... ㅠㅠ But Kieta Hatsukoi is good the way it is too. I will definitely rewatch it in the future when I've forgotten about it lol ^^
(Btw for some reason I got Lovely Complex vibes from this drama... hmm...)– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"
Kieta Hatsukoi is so cute and short it's easy to rewatch at any time. This was the "100th" and last drama that I completed in 2021. This FVM made me watch to watch it again: https://youtu.be/fgy84gdjYxU. It was really nice to rewatch it again ^^

3. Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai!
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! ㅠㅠ <3 This was so good~ They were so cute and the humour is right up my alley~ I love our two main leads so much, especially Kota; I love his personality. Why is this drama so short??? I want more... ㅠㅠ

4. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I have become mildly obsessed with Semantic Error, and Seoham and Jaechan's amazing chemistry~ I like Semantic Error more and more the more I watch it. I raised the score after every new rewatch lol. It's a great enemies to lovers drama (starting to like this trope a lot; previously disliked). Will definitely rewatch it again~

5. Fujoshi, Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru
Japanese Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
Incredible. My eyes are blurry. This was so beautifully ugly. I'm not gay nor would I call myself a hardcore fujoshi, yet this story touched me deeply. It's heavy, it's wholesome, it's dark, it's cute... and it's heart wrenching.
I can relate to the feeling of depression and feeling exhausted.
The acting was perfect. The actors who plays the male and the female lead were perfect. I'm careful with that word "perfect" but they deserve it. The story was wrapped up well with no loose ends too.
Fantastic.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

6. Love Mechanics
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Wow! THIS is better; now we're talking! lol. Tbh the situation they are in in the beginning/more than half of the drama is not very good. But this time we see that Vee actually has a likeable personality and a real heart, opposed to the original series. Mark is great, he always has been. I just really like their characters this time. But that could be because of the incredible acting! Both of them are so talented!! For the other one I only commented on War, but Yin is also great. They have improved a lot.
The chemistry between them was present in the original, but in this one... OMG! I saw a comment on MDL that said that this is the first time they've been convinced that the two leads are actually in love, or something along those lines. I agree! They are up there on OhmNanon, FirstKhao, FirstGawin level I'm telling you! They suit each other so well! Their acting is truly amazing! I loved the series THIS MUCH because of their chemistry.
Dare I say that this is the better version of Theory of Love?– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

7. To My Star
Korean Drama - 2021, 9 episodes
Aaah ^^ so cute <3 Soft, rather simple & short. The leads are really good looking btw and the chef's smile was so pretty ^^. I finished this in one sitting.

8. Moonlight Chicken
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Fantastic! Loved it from the very first episode! It has a great story, gorgeous visuals, nice calming music, detailed and relatable characters, and flawless acting! It's so well made it's hard to believe there even exists a drama like this! I'm 100% serious!
The only reason as to why this didn't get a 10/10 from me is because I was more invested in the side couple and side characters than our two main leads romance. It's not that it wasn't interesting, and I love EarthMix!! it's just that Li Ming x Heart... and Alan... my heart belongs to them >.< Alan and Wen's love story made me emotional and made me care a lot about Alan because First is such an amazing actor.
Li Ming x Heart... omg... I love them so much~! ㅠㅠ All their scenes (even when they weren't together) were my favourites. I can't believe that this is their first series... their acting is seriously flawless, especially Fourth! His character is so different from MSP, but I love him more as Li Ming, he suits him. I cried during many of his scenes (as well as the ones with Jim's past relationship). He's one of the best actors I've ever seen! (I just hope I can look past Safe House s4... I saw unfortunately... wish I could unsee... I'm always behind First)
Anyway, loved Moonlight Chicken and Li Ming x Heart is officially one of my favourite couples of all time!! ^^ Would rewatch their scenes if I rewatch.
p.s. I was confused about the intro song since it sounded like Chinese yet a bit off, but then I thought maybe it's just sung by someone who's Thai and I was right, hehe~ they sung it together aww <3– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

9. The Eclipse
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I had expectations about the plot that weren't met. With supernatural as a genre and some misleading tags, I had expected something a little bit more extreme. My first thought was that it felt like a "wannabe The Gifted but with gay characters". I was critiquing the drama quite harshly in the beginning and it was largely due to my expectations. But as the story progressed, as well as the incredible acting, I came to see the core focus (from my pov) of the drama.
The Eclipse is a character driven drama focusing on internal conflicts, especially Akk's complex mind. Akk is a fantastic character and I think that's largely due to First being able to express Akk's emotions so well. First was the main reason why this drama peaked my interest since I've been a fan of his since Not Me. He've said in interviews that the best thing about Akk is his character development. 100% true! Akk's character development was fantastic; the best thing about the drama! I loved seeing the gradual change in his eyes as the story progressed. First has a talent where he can perfectly depict a character's thoughts and emotions only though his eyes.
This drama made me like the enemies to lovers trope more. I loved Akk and Ayan's relationship development throughout the series. They found comfort in each other and grew together; it was beautiful. I couldn't stop my tears from falling when I watched the last episode. I've been following this for over a month and I loved seeing them happy together in the end.
I will definitely rewatch this.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

10. My School President
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Waaa~ >.< this was so nice! Definitely not your typical BL. It deals with many very heavy topics actually, in midst of the cuteness, but it works for My School President!
The acting and chemistry from both Fourth and Gemini were great! Fourth is especially talented! His acting moved me many times, even making me cry once. And his smile~ >.< aahhh~ he is a very beautiful young man. I loved both of their characters. I just love confident people (you can get away with doing the cringiest thing if you're doing it with confidence)! I love love love when it's about bands and music. Many others thinks it's cliché, but I love it. Tinn was such a ball of sunshine as well! I love how whipped he is for Gun, tehe~ ^^ And Tiw!!!! Omg... he was such a kindhearted soul; loved him so much.
I also want to applaud the parents of this drama! They are such lovely people! Gun's mum being the most warmhearted woman, Tinn's mum being such a protecting and caring mother, and Tinn's father delivering so many big brain lines I almost cried from the things he said.
This is a very rewatchable drama! I actually started watching this in the beginning of January, but I couldn't keep up with watching it on air this time, so I ended up bingeing it now that it has finished airing. But I enjoyed rewatching it from the beginning just as much as I loved watching the first few episodes the first time I saw them, if not more. I could definitely see myself rewatching this more than a couple of times :)
Then I guess I'm off to watch Moonlight Chicken now so that I can watch more of these lovely boys, as well as seeing FirstKhao and EarthMix again ^^ (what a perfect combination of pairings in one drama!)– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

11. To My Star Season 2: Our Untold Stories
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
This was so good~ Yes, Jiwoo was overly tsundere for the majority of the drama, but when they were happy they were so cute~ >.< They have even better chemistry in this season! I also like that there are 10 episodes instead of 9, and that the episodes are longer than season 1. The story felt more developed (even though season 1 had a well written story as well, but when the series is longer you can fit in more things) with more complex conflicts and characters.
I still dislike the lovers separated trope so I was hesitant to watch this season (and rewatch season 1 first), but I'm happy I decided to finally watch it! I liked it a lot! ^^
Hope to rewatch this someday :)– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

12. A Shoulder to Cry On
Korean Drama - 2023, 7 episodes
I liked this a lot! The acting was really good and I really liked the story. Both the characters and the story have surprisingly a lot of depth despite this being a short K-BL, which I love to see! It has flaws. In the two last episodes there were a lot of things and situations that I normally don't enjoy watching, but for some reason my score for this drama (9/10 right now) won't budge anyway. I just liked the characters and their chemistry too much to care about the slightly unsatisfying ending with the many tropes I don't like. The score might be a bit generous, but my enjoyment was at 100% throughout the whole drama and I was never bored.
Hope to rewatch it in the future!
P.S. archery is really cool!– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

13. Dew the Movie
Thai Movie - 2019
What a beautiful movie. As someone who believes in reincarnation, this movie touched me deeply. Only focusing on the surface of this movie will fail to show you its beauty, whilst only focusing on the message and beauty of the movie will make you seem ignorant, even though it is not your intent. I understand both sides of the argument, but I choose to see the movie as it is.
I haven't seen the Korean version of this movie; I picked up this movie because of Ohm. His performance in this movie was really good, as always.– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2022 Completed"

14. Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai
Japanese Drama - 2022, 4 episodes
Everything was so beautiful and peaceful. From the things they said, to the way they acted, to the visuals of the drama, everything. They are so cute ㅠㅠ I wish it was longer ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Istg I was really close to crying in the last scene in the last episode ㅠㅠ

15. Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo
Japanese Drama - 2023, 5 episodes
This was such a nice watch. Just pure cuteness. It's definitely one of the better BLs out there right now. Will 100% rewatch it in the future. I've been listening to the outro non-stop for the past few days as I was waiting for the final episode to air.
I've heard about the manga before but I've never read it. After having watched this drama I will definitely have to check it out. But I might wait a bit longer as it's still ongoing.

16. KinnPorsche
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
I made a comment in the comment section:
"I just completed KinnPorsche, so here are my honest and harsh thoughts about it:
– Great acting; forgot they were acting tbh.
– I’m a fan of well made intros, and I liked this one.
– Loved Porsche’s fun and eccentric personality, definitely my favourite character.
– How many times can we feel sad for Porsche? Because wtf
– My favourite episode/s were when they were lost in the forest together.
– Kinn and Porsche had so many cute scenes~ Loved it
– I like Pete a lot and I hate that he got Stockholm syndrome for Vegas.
– Vegas is a sociopath and I’m sad that he didn’t die.
– Wtf was that last episode tho??
– But the action was great.
– Porschay is just like “aha, I guess my brother is a mafia boss now. Alright”
– I don’t care to comment on their mother or Kinn’s father.
– Why do I not care that the last episode is a mess tho? lol
Conclusion: 8,5/10
Would rewatch on a rainy evening."
That basically sums it up. Also, I wrote above, on Cherry Magic, that I had my top 3. KinnPorsche might take 4th place.
Last thing; I hate smokers, but why does Porsche look so attractive every time he lights his cigarette?? ok bye– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

17. Cutie Pie
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Wow this was so much better than I expected and my expectations were already high! I love these types of stories a lot; hidden identity with comedy (and romance is a bonus~).
I loved Kuea and his double personality/hidden identity. His two personalities being so dual is always fun to see in stories (Kota from Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! comes to mind etc). I love his bad boy look and that he's both a singer that plays drums (I love drums) and he also drives a fast motorbike (I'm not good with cars/motorbikes etc. so idk exactly what type it is, but I love motorbikes/motorcycles as well and I've always wanted to ride one, preferably my future partner can drive me places~^^ I can only dream~) and likes driving sports cars etc. It was fun that he kept what he studied at uni a secret as well. And he was so good at singing!! I loved the songs he sang! My favourite scenes in the series (beside the cute stuff) was when he was doing music~
All of the characters were really great! Every important character was kind and played a significant role in the story. I loved all of them ^^ I found Foei the secretary very funny; I loved his scenes.
Cutie Pie also had a lot of important messages and discussed some important topics. I'm working on a story myself but I'm having a hard time coming up with what message I want to convey in my story atm.
Loved this drama a lot and will definitely rewatch it again in the future~– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

18. Star and Sky: Star in My Mind
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This is exactly what I needed right now. I've been having a hard time with anxiety again lately and this took my mind off of it. Sad it's so short, but it was nice at the same time (since I don't like filler).
What made me choose to watch this right now was partly because I saw the announcement of their upcoming drama for next year, Hidden Agenda, and also because I stumbled upon Joong's Twitter and saw the pinned sunflower post.
Star and Sky: In My Mind was really cute and simple. I think MDL need to give this a higher score because below 8 is just so wrong! The two leads have really good chemistry.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

19. 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
It's very cute and I especially like the acting of Adachi. The concept of the story is really good and it has it's humorous moments from time to time. It's very well made and feels sincere. There is a lot of honesty (many Japanese dramas/movies have this too of course) which I really love. I hope I'm not too greedy for wanting a kiss between the leads ^^; But I like the purity too.
Again I'm reminded of the time when my female friend confessed to me. I had no idea. Or, even if she gave hints from time to time, I'm the type of person to overlook it by thinking "no way, no one would like me". I related a bit to Adachi when I rewatched this drama just now (August 4th 2021. The inspiration to create this list lol).

20. Triage
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
I've kept away from this drama for a while now because I don't like watching medical dramas. But since I'm a big fan of time travel and time manipulation in general, I just had to try it. I'm very glad I did! It was really good. The character development in our two main characters were beautiful. I really like that the other party (the one who wasn't controlling the time travelling) were able to remember the other loops if they tried. This drama reminded me a bit of Someday or One day towards the end. Although this had a lot of medical themes, I still felt it wasn't focused on it. The focus was more on getting out of the loop, solving mysteries and falling in love. This drama had a lot of moving and emotional scenes, but I couldn't cry. I don't know if I'll be rewatching this tho, it feels more like a drama you only watch one time, but you never know.
This seems to be kind of like a prequel to Manner of Death that I've seen in the past. I've forgotten a lot of it tbh, but I think it had something to do with organ trafficking. We also see our two main leads from Manner of Death as guest characters in Triage playing the same roles as they did in their series.
Oh, and I just checked; they were a couple in 2 Moons as well, huh. I thought Tee Thanapon, the actor who plays Tol, looked familiar.
(Spoiler) I liked that we got a happy ending. And I really like this part of the end quote in the last episode: "Strive for what you wish to have and never stop moving forward".– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"
-
21. Kamisama no Ekohiiki
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Aww, that was nice! A body swap drama Jdrama style. I was about to skip this one when scrolling through the MDL gay romance tag because of the poster. But I'm glad I decided to go back and click on it because the synopsis drew me in right away! The story was good. It feels like something I've watched before, but at the same time not.
I liked the characters but especially Rin–chan and Yashiro. I didn't ship them as a straight couple, but I liked them as individuals. Rin–chan takes the nr.1 spot tho! I really liked the short time when she and Kagura (with Yashiro's soul) went on a date together. I just loved Rin–chan's pure love for Kagura. But I'm happy about the end result.
I really liked when God made Kenta experience a parallel world so that he could experience what life could've turned out like if he pushed Yushiro away from the beginning. I liked the realisation that Kenta had in that moment. (Spoiler) I'm happy that Kenta and Yushiro became a couple in the end ^^– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

22. Theory of Love
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
I really loved this drama. It’s rare for me to like BL dramas but this one was so cute.
– Copy pasted from "2019 Dramas"
It has flaws but my enjoyment and my engagement whilst watching makes me give it a 10/10. There's never a scene that I think is boring. Definitely my favourite BL.
– Copy pasted from "Dramas I've Rewatched"
Having watched more BLs like Bad Buddy, Kieta Hatsukoi etc. I feel like judging Theory of Love a bit harsher, this time, by looking at the details of the story. There are still a lot of things that I like and appreciate, but the story is a bit lacking compared to other BLs I've seen. But I still like Theory of Love a lot and it feels very nostalgic to me. The song พระเอกจำลอง (Fake Protagonist) by Getsunova was one of my most listened to songs last year. I love the intro song too, it gives me summer vibes ^^

23. BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita: Crank Up Hen
Japanese Special - 2023, 3 episodes
This was cute~ I liked the characters and the acting was really great. The story was alright but it's the characters that makes you keep watching; it's a character driven story. I feel like it was the perfect length for this story but I would have liked to see better kiss scenes and not the Japanese peck or whatever it is haha ^^; But the chemistry was still really good.

24. He's Coming to Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
Oh wow, this drama sure has many merits. In 2019 my cousin asked me to watch this telling me how much she liked it but I only gave it 1/4th of an episode before I discontinued. But there is a right time for everything, right? First of all I want to praise its comedic value. I found myself laughing in almost every episode ^^. I want to give extra praise to the actor who plays Med. He's really good in comedy, sad and romantic scenes. Med is also deserving of the title 'cute bean' alongside Tian (A Tale of a Thousand Stars). Of course I already love Chimon ^^. His character was really cute too. In fact I loved all the main characters.
As a person who believes in reincarnation this was a pleasant watch. There is definitely more out there. There is so much we don't know. Just take space as an example. Then is it such a stretch to believe in ghosts and reincarnation?
Except for Med's cute character and the great humour (am really curious who Khiew's neighbour is lol) , there were a lot of sad and emotional scenes in this drama. Of course they were sad, but I didn't find myself crying to the majority of them (which is a bit rare). But the scene where Thun came out to his parents really got to me. Especially THAT scene felt very real, like how it can play out in real life. His character felt really believable as someone who could struggle with their sexuality. For me, love is love, I don't care (I guess one could call me pan), but I can see how important it is for someone who wants to come out to do so.
Needless to say: I really loved this drama ^^– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"

25. About Youth
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This was so cute~ Even though they were a bit awkward at times, I still felt that the two couples had great chemistry with each other. The story was deep enough to matter and the characters were detailed enough for such a short drama.
Ah yes, it was short indeed. The problem with short drama is that some knots might not be tied properly and/or some events or characters might not have as great of an importance as they could've been if the story was longer. It's like this with About Youth as well. I felt there were a couple of unnecessary characters and I would also have liked to see Ye Guang's parents apologise to him. And the thing about head boy seems a bit insignificant tbh.
But the romance was really cute which was obviously the main focus of the story. The characters were cute and likeable as well. The music was also really good.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"
-
26. Ossan's Love
Japanese Drama - 2018, 7 episodes
The boss in this show is so kind compared to the character he played in To Each His Own where he was so mean. It's so funny and so cute, but you still remember the seriousness in it as well. It was a very good drama, it'd be nice if it was a bit longer tho.
– Copy pasted from "2019 Dramas"
I like Haruto's over exaggerated expressions and the humour in the drama. Haruto's personality is pure and I like his character (although if I met him in real life I would be exhausted quickly from his energy lol). The romance is okay, but if the humour aspect didn't exist then I would probably not have given the show as high of a score as I do.

27. The Best Story
Thai Drama - 2021, 3 episodes
It's been a long time since I cried during a drama ㅠㅠ This one was so emotional; I was not prepared for an ending like this. But the story was so sweet and most of the characters were cute and likeable. The song he played was really good too~ I loved the two main lead actors, especially the guy who plays Best, War Wanarat. I love it when people can act with their eyes (that's one of the reasons why I'm such a big fan of First). Because of that ending I don't know when I would rewatch this in the future, because it definitely deserves a rewatch.
It's funny that it's called The Best Story since the name of our main character is Best.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

28. A Tale of Thousand Stars
Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Such a beautiful story. So sweet and cute. The first half of the drama was flawless, it's that Phupha acted up in the second half that made me retract half a point. There are so many life lessons to be learned from this drama. Some things can't be said in words, you have to see it for yourself to understand them. Tian is such an amazing character. He's one of my favourite characters (throughout all dramas) for sure. I feel like I could relate to him a lot. I hope that one day I can be as strong as him. Apparently the actor, Mix, A Tale of a Thousand Stars is his first drama. Like how?? How is he so good?? He played the role of Tian perfectly. And who gave him that smile??? Who gave him permission to smile like that???? ㅠㅠ Tian the cute pure innocent little bean. A Tale of a Thousand Stars was way too short. I wish there was more.

29. Restart after Come back Home
Japanese Movie - 2020
Cute movie :) Peaceful and soft. I knew both of the actors from before so seeing them acting in the same movie as a couple was quite cool. I liked both of the main character's personalities. They were quite opposite but they fit each other well.

30. HIStory2: Crossing the Line
Taiwanese Special - 2018, 8 episodes
Binged in one sitting. The kisses... they took me by surprise >.< Cute. Seems like the volleyball playing wasn't a major thing in the story, only the love lol. Omg... the kisses... sh*t. Originally I was intrigued to watch this because of Patrick Sish as he's the 2nd lead in my favourite drama: Someday or One Day. I kept pending between 8 and 8,5 throughout the whole drama but I decided on a score of 8,5 (mostly because there wasn't a time jump which I was afraid of. Also... the kisses...).

31. His
Japanese Movie - 2020
A calm sweet movie. I've had this on my ptw list for over a year now I think, but now I finally decided to watch it. It reminds me of Restart After Come Back Home. Sora was so cute. It was a really nice watch; I liked the vibe this movie went for, it felt calming and removed my anxiety.
Also, the actor who plays Shun is the same guy that plays Hotei, Takauji's unhealthily loyal friend in Todome no Kiss lol.– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2022 Completed"

32. Not Me
Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
Tbh, underwhelming. I think that there were a lot of missed opportunities with how the story could've unfolded. It was a bit jumpy at times and I don't have much knowledge of politics/activism etc. so there were times I couldn't keep up. I'm also a comedy lover so the fact that there were none in Not Me made it harder for me to enjoy it to the fullest. There were no wow moments and I'm not sure if the characters ever learnt anything from their mistakes because I didn't see them improve during their missions. The ending was very bland; a lot of loose ends and cliché happy endings that I found quite uncreative. I'd prefer it if the ending was less "happy" and more realistic in this case; I think it'd better fit this type of story. Oh well... maybe I'll rewatch Not Me someday and change my mind on some things ^^;
Bbbuttt! The acting! It was incredible! Especially Gun is so talented! He looked so handsome in this drama too; he really suits the Black fashion style lol. First looked really cool too. I became a First fan after finishing The Shipper.
Despite my harsh comments, Not Me was good. I liked the first half the most. If this series gets a 2nd season, I could forgive that bland ending. But tying the knot so loosely like this was very underwhelming, like I said ^^; Anyway, 8/10 :)– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

33. The Miracle of Teddy Bear
Thai Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Ahh... ㅠㅠ what an ending... cried a lot during the last episode (and a bit throughout the series as well). I loved Tofu so much~ ㅠㅠ I have a soft spot for stuffed animals to begin with, and now there is a human who is like a teddy bear, that can also fall in love... ㅠㅠ
I loved the first half of the drama a lot (like 8,5/10). It was more innocent, had less drama and more comedy. Tofu was especially cute here when he was learning things for the first time~
But the drama had a slow shift as it progressed, so towards the end it felt like it was a separate story. It started with all of Nut's tantrums, then it was the family backstory, the mentally ill mother and then (spoiler) she got physically ill as well (which I felt was a bit too much tbh)... There was also a lot of investigation scenes with Tathan's case (which was an alright "side story"/part of the story, although not the best) and that organisation (which felt like a weak villain). But the best things about this part of the story was Song and Kensit's relationship developing (Song is my 2nd favourite character here) as well as Tofu's character development and how he helped everyone with all of their problems. Tofu deserved so much more! I wish he got angry with Nut at least once!! But he was just kind the whole time. Because of this, I have to say, their chemistry was on the weaker side. But I wanted it to work because it brings Tofu happiness!
I get that Nut had trauma but, although it can be a reason, one's mental health issues can never be an excuse to do something bad. Although he softened up due to Tofu, Nut never learnt this lesson.
I'm gonna miss Tofu ㅠㅠ– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

34. Minato Shouji Coin Laundry
Japanese Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
It was nice :) I binged it in one day. It's nothing new, but it was nice to see this type of story again anyway. I liked that they waited util Shin became an adult before things really became serious between them.
(Btw, why are everyone so handsome in this? Unfair...)– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

35. Light on Me
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Another tsundere everyone! 박수! But he was a really soft tsundere, a rare find, tasteful. Noh Shinwoo is officially on the 'best boy' list. Definitely one of the bestes boys out there. Kang Yooseok's (Noh Shinwoo) smile is so pretty! ㅠㅠ Noh Shinwoo is so amazing, no one deserves him. The actor who plays Nam Goong is actually really good at singing (shown in episode 13). Woo Taekyung reminded me a bit of Eunwoo when he parted his hair for the Prince talent show. The Prince talent show reminded me of when there was a "who looks best as a girl" contest in Hana–Kimi lol. Talking about Hana–Kimi; Light on Me felt like watching a manga, which isn't a bad thing! Just saying ^^; (Spoiler) I thought we wouldn't get a kiss scene! I'm so happy <3 ㅠㅠ very very happy ;( I got to test out my Korean 'cause I watched the last episode without subtitles lol. I understood around 90% probably, definitely everything important :)
As for Shin Daon, I once had a crush on someone who was a worse version of him. He treated other girls the same way as he treated me. He wasn't a very good person, but I didn't see that until after I stopped liking him. He later started dating my friend, but it turned out that both of them liked me (as told by my friend who was in love with me), she said that both she and him liked me. I swear I get the weirdest confessions... lol ^^;– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"

36. Love for Love's Sake
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
This started out as a simple BL with a fantasy element. The first 3 episodes were an entertaining buildup to the 4th suddenlt super cute episode. Then from episode 5 everything started to change. It got choppy and it felt like scenes and moments were skipped, leaving me a little confused. Then it turned to almost psychological horror tbh it was scary. Then by the end it became abstract, sad and philosopical. A good ending tho, but it was quite scary and depressing leading up to it.
I liked the characters and the message about finding your own happiness. In this case they found their own happiness together. A very cute love story. Yeowoo was especially such a cute innocent bean~
Might rewatch one day if I feel BL deprived and philosophical.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2024 Completed"

37. Manner of Death
Thai Drama - 2020, 14 episodes
First I want to say that this drama is 18+ for a reason uhum I was not prepared lol. But in all seriousness, this would be a really hard drama to stomach would it not be for the romance BL. I really disliked Inspector M in the first half of the show but he got better thankfully. Pleasant plot twist there at the end, talking about him. This is quite a depressing drama, the only light being the romance. Yeah, very much an adult drama in both plot and romance (beware children lol). The actor who plays Tan has a really pretty smile btw. Just wanted to point it out ^^.

38. Seven Days: Monday - Thursday
Japanese Movie - 2015
I've known about these couple of movies a couple of years ago now but I didn't watch them until now. I read the manga for the first time some years ago but then I reread it last week. Enjoying it more than my first read, I decided to try watching the movies as well.
It was good. The story stays fateful to the manga. The actors don't look like how I pictured them based on how they look in the manga, but it's fine. The actors portray the characters well so it doesn't matter. Even though it took a while, I'm glad I watched it at least now. I'll watch the next movie as well.– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2023 Completed"

39. Seven Days: Friday - Sunday
Japanese Movie - 2015
Part 2 flowed nicely after part 1, still staying true to the manga. Although it has its problems, I still really like the story. But part 2 felt a bit too long because the scenes were shot without many cuts and they moved and talked so slowly with lots of emptiness in between. It was a bit frustrating as I'm someone who likes when it's normal to fast paced (usually). When I read manga I read pretty quickly as well.
I think that both Seven Days movies were equally good :)– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2023 Completed"

40. His - Koisuru Tsumori Nante Nakatta
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
This has been on my PTW list for a while now. I've already watched the movie and I didn't know that this was the prequel until I had completed it. So I just left this alone for a bit, hoping that having seen the movie before the drama wouldn't ruin the drama for me. But after having seen Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai earlier this day with the same lead actor, Kura Yuki, I decided to give this a try since I saw this being compared to it as the better drama. It was good. But maybe because I had expectations, I feel a bit let down. The beginning of the drama really hyped me up, but as the story got more complicated I felt a tiny bit frustrated. It was entertaining and it wasn't super dramatic or anything, but I wanted to see more of the two main lead's romance together. (spoilers) They didn't have many romantic moments and they confessed in the last scene of the last episode. I was a bit let down. But I really liked it anyway. It was good and I would definitely rewatch it sometime in the future :)

41. Roommates of Poongduck 304
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Cute~ I liked it. It's quite cliché tho with tropes and conflicts we've seen before, but it was still a nice watch. They are really cute together and the two actors definitely have chemistry going on. I have to be honest and say that I didn't really see a clear progression in their relationship. It was more like they really disliked each other and then they became close almost all of a sudden; it was more like a shaky shift, if that makes sense. I'm not a big fan of that because it makes me confused. But maybe I missed something or didn't understand everything; I was multitasking whilst watching this drama, see.
I have to say... I absolutely HATED that con artist "friend"! Like– Omg! He's definitely on the list of my most hated characters ever!!
To end on a positive note: again, it was cute~ and I'm glad I watched it :)– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

42. Where Your Eyes Linger
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Very cute and beautiful. It would've been nice if it was longer.
– Copy pasted from "Completed Dramas 2020"
Hmm... I had to lower the score quite a bit upon rewatching this one; previously rating it a 9/10. This was one of the earlier BLs I've seen, so now that I've seen more BLs (and dramas overall) I feel like it's of lesser quality compared to many others. It was still enjoyable and easy to binge, but it wasn't as cute as I remembered and the chemistry between the actors felt weaker compared to other BL couples I've seen in dramaland. The story is actually on the more detailed side despite the drama being only around 80 minutes long as a whole. The characters, however, feel mediocre to me. Or maybe above mediocre, but not by much. Maybe that's why the story has room to shine through. But despite all of my complaints, I still like this drama :)

44. HIStory3: Make Our Days Count
Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes
I've been spoiled the ending a long time ago so I knew somewhat what I got myself into. Thus I wasn't taken aback by the ending and made sure not to get too attached to the characters.
The storyline has a similar feel to what I was expecting too. It was good :) But the characters I was not prepared for. It's obvious by the poster how our main character's personalities are, but they still weren't exactly how I expected them to be. If I'm allowed to critisise this, I didn't like anyone expect for Yu Xigu in the beginning of the drama. I didn't like how they bullied him and I really disliked how both Xiang Haoting and Sun Boxiang were hitting on their partners. They were aggressive and possessive and high key stalkers. If it was me I would've called the police... But yes, they were really cute, both couples, when they were together. The actors had great chemistry and the characters definitely got better as the story progressed.
So yeah, not my favourite. But it was alright :)
Btw, they had really weird pillows in the drama. Those dog ones and that lettuce one that random guy had in the classroom for some reason, haha ^^;– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

45. Life: Senjou no Bokura

46. Lovely Writer
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
I really loved this drama. Just couldn't be bothered to finish the last episode. I've seen too many "I'm famous and when our relationship is exposed we can't date anymore" type of shows and they make me quite depressed ^^; They were really cute tho.

47. Mr. Heart
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
I'm currently writing a story and there is an important side couple where both of them are male. So today I have been looking at various types of inspiration for their romance, including browsing Pinterest and rewatching clips of Young Royals (btw doesn't the actor who plays Sangha resemble Simon a bit?). I decided to watch Mr. Heart for the same reason. It's a cute drama. The information dump in episode 4 where Sangha tells his life story feels very off which is most likely because the drama is so short. I think it could've been executed better and having the drama longer would've made that easier. Also because all of a sudden there were these loan sharks lurking around him the drama lost touch with reality. This also could've been executed better if the drama was longer. I wouldn't even have noticed these things if it wasn't for Abbie. She have really opened my eyes lol ^^

48. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
It was ok. Every comedic act missed me with just a few centimeters. I felt it was a little bland, which is probably the point. It's supposed to be comedy focused, it's just not comedic enough for me I'm afraid ^^; But it's only a special efter all, so how deep can you really go, right?

49. Never Let Me Go
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
This was not good... poorly written story, 2D dialogue, music that doesn't fit the scenes, filler, plot holes, badly edited, mostly plain characters and I can tell that they didn't revise it because there are so many more mistakes... yet, why was it entertaining?
The first time I saw Phuwin was in The Gifted s2 where he became my favourite character for that season. As for the pairing, I tried watching Fish Upon the Sky over a year ago but didn't like it. Here in Never Let Me Go I can see what a beautiful man Pond is. He's good at acting the romantic scenes. Phuwin is a bit awkward, but the two have chemistry.
Most characters I did not like. Actually, I only liked Palm and Chopper. Palm's mother and Maggie said some nice things, but they didn't have enough screen time for me to build a connection with them. Palm is kind and competent, but my complaint is that he lacks personality. His personality is being there for Neung; protecting and loving him. I think I liked Palm because of Pond's acting. Chopper is best boy. He is a fleshed out character and arguably has the best storyline in the series. Chopper delivered some proper lines at times as well in midst of the stale dialogue.
The storyline is so freaking ridiculous and most of the characters make no sense, but it was entertaining enough to complete nonetheless. Would I rewatch it? Most likely not. Would I watch a different drama with the same pairings? Sure, why not.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

51. A Breeze of Love
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Meh :/ It's a common one with the cliché misunderstanding. The story was really plain and boring, the characters were meh but their chemistry was on the more positive side at least. That is the only reason I can se why this has a high rating from others. Personally, I think it was bland. I feel let down as I had expected SOMETHING different than the usual... It's like The Eighth Sense all over again... *sigh*

52. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
It was alright. Maybe I would've liked it more if I was a bit older. There is no comedy but it was really sweet. But the first 3 episodes were pretty similar and it wasn't until the end of episode 4 (in my eyes) when things started to move forward at a rapid rate. Episode 5 was just a waiting game (which isn't uncommon, but you know, it most often does not contribute to a positive score for me). But it was fine, and also short, so it was easy to complete.

53. The Eighth Sense
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Bad but entertaining. Now, why do I think that? What stands out the most is how confusing it was. It felt like skipping past the pages that weren't loading when reading a manga online; holes of guessing. That doesn't have to be a bad thing, but I don't like it. Then it's the production with the lighting and the overly dragged out scenes of silence. This realistic film style is ok, but it's not fit for BL; they didn't pull it off. Then the characters: their roundabout ways of saying things, the avoiding each other (istg it's not just lack of communication it's more like no communication at all), and how the side characters have to tell the main characters what to do/think and not have them discover it on their own. But the worst thing is the way they (spoiler) baited us into believing he was dead, hinting at it in the very first scene and then completely shoving it in our faces in ep 7 before being like "jkjk he's alive don't worry"... –_–;
Maybe my expectations were too high even though I barely had any. I don't understand why this currently has such a high rating. My only guess is the level of intimacy shown and one of the lead's vague sad backstory and depression. The characters were truly bland and it even had the b*tchy ex–girlfriend character, the sh*t guy friend (and he was f*cking forgiven somehow ugh) and the fat friend character... The mains' no–communication romance was exhausting...
A couple of positives: the romantic scenes were cute and there was character development. But besides that... nothing.
I have seen better.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2023 Completed"

54. En of Love: Love Mechanics
Thai Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
I decided to watch this because I liked The Best Story. Although, I actually thought that I was watching the 2022 version of Love Mechanics, but turns out it was this instead. It was very jumpy and fast paced (or am I missing something?). It felt a bit like the less good version of Theory of Love tbh; one lead is sh*tty and the other is sad. But I really liked War's (Mark) acting again. He's really talented.

55. Ossan's Love: In the Sky
Japanese Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
It wasn't as good as season 1. I didn't watch the last 2 episodes because I've heard about the ending already.
-
56. You Make Me Dance
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
It was ok. Very simple and very short which made the story seem a bit forced and too unrealistic. Their chemistry was below average and it looked like the actor who plays Shion doesn't want to be kissed. I'm also very very very tired of those types of endings.

57. Vice Versa
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

58. 2 Moons
Thai Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
It's been so long since I watched this drama so I don't remember anything and thus don't have an opinion on it. Simply trusting the score I put on it and placing it down here on my list.

59. Silhouette of Your Voice
Japanese Movie - 2017
It would've gotten a higher score if it was longer. But it was really cute.
– Copy pasted from "2019 Movies"
It's very pure and short. Sadly it wasn't as good as I remembered. It's a cute and sad movie with very stereotypical characters (which doesn't have to be a bad thing but since the movie is so short it's difficult to make them stand out from the crowd).
I lowered the score quite a bit and I don't think I'll rewatch it again.– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2023 Completed"

60. Love by Chance
Thai Drama - 2018, 14 episodes
I haven’t watched that many BL dramas, let alone finished many at all, but this one was worth completing. I thought that the interactions between the two main couples were very sweet, that’s what kept me. (But I’m shy, so there were scenes that I couldn’t watch^^;)
– Copy pasted from "2019 Dramas"
Same as ^above^, it's been so long that I don't remember.

61. Color Rush
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
I've had Color Rush on my ptw list even before it was airing since the synopsis sounded interesting but I've been avoiding watching this ever since it aired because of the score here on MDL. I finally decided to watch this, and just as I feared, it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. The story felt lacking, the characters felt bland and the chemistry wasn't that strong. The story was also a bit weird; (spoiler) I didn't like the obsession part about the mono crimes and him considering kidnapping the other guy. The mystery about his mother was never solved either (maybe it's in season 2, but I don't think I'm gonna watch it). Despite the drama having an interesting premise, the story wasn't that complex. The time frame for this drama feels like it's quite short and they aren't pulling it off. I kept watching because it's short.

62. Dark Blue Kiss
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Tbh I wasn't expecting much because the trailer didn't draw me in nor did I enjoy Kiss Me Again: Pete–Kao. but the quality is a lot better. The music sounds kinda funny tho. Tay is so kind irl; he is good at acting because so far I find Pete annoying. I haven't been able to complete this yet.
Also every time I see Gawin I’m like "Dan this isn’t your drama!"
-
63. Your Name Engraved Herein
Taiwanese Movie - 2020
It was not my cup of tea. It was very raw in the ways I do not like. Other raw movies like Better Days I like, but this is a different kind of raw. I do think that people who enjoy raw movies should try this one out tho to see for themselves if they like it or not.
I was multitasking whilst watching this movie and I don't think that I would've completed it otherwise. It was entertaining enough to have in the background.
Both the story and the characters were very meh. Maybe it was due to me multitasking, but I got confused over their relationship status a lot and also if some of the things we saw were dreams or not. The story itself wasn't confusing, as I did pay attention, it was just their relationship I was confused about.
I also think that just because it's about serious topics doesn't mean that I have to enjoy the movie. I can still support and stand behind important messages like the ones in the movie without having to give it a high score just because of it. Story and characters are very important to me and this story and its characters just wasn't my cup of tea is all.
Will probably never rewatch this.– Copy pasted from "Movies – 2023 Completed"

67. Cupid's Last Wish
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Since the moment I watched the trailer my expectations for this drama were already low. It turned out to be what I had expected. The story was not that good tbh. I stayed for the actors. The characters were okay, but not that (what to call it) gripping. Everyone likes EarthMix, including me, so that's the reason why I picked up this drama. Cupid's Last Wish had a similar vibe to A Tale of a Thousand Stars, but it's lacking in quality from its successor. And istg they were just eating throughout half of the drama lol. There were some filler scenes. There were also things/places that appeared once (that were supposed to be important), never to be seen again, a way of (cheap) storytelling that I'm not a fan of. The story lacked in depth and things were never that shocking or important as it should/could have been. A "meh" drama, in my book.

69. Kiss Me Again: Pete-Kao
Thai Special - 2018, 3 episodes
It's very boring... Maybe it's because I'm not watching the whole series. Bad "jokes" that remind me of worse things... But is this old? Maybe that's why they thought "jokes" like those are okay...?
I just don't like Pete...

70. Addicted
Chinese Drama - 2016, 15 episodes
One of the first BLs I tried watching but I never completed it and I don't remember why. Maybe I was just new to it so I wasn't used to it yet or I just didn't like the story. Maybe I'll try watching it from the beginning someday so that I can form a fresher opinion.

71. 2gether
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
The weakest spark I've ever seen between two lovers. The first thing that struck me when I started this drama is that this is a very fan service drama. I started watching this exactly a year ago but I never finished it because 1: it was still airing and 2: it wasn't interesting enough to keep up with. But like it started airing on my birthday so I have no choice but to check it out again you know... lol. Restarting it from the beginning it's an easy binge watch drama. It's rather lighthearted and simple. The story is cute and I'm really into school settings. There was a spark between the main leads but it was very weak compared to a lot of other BLs I've seen. It's cute and all but if you stop watching you will forget about it quickly and leave it alone like I did the first time. But this is by no means a bad drama. It's just not the best I've seen.
On the other hand, although I might be slightly biased (uhum Theory of Love and A Tale of a Thousand Stars), my favourite characters were Man and Fong. Fong was just the best friend and Man was so cute. Man and Type's relationship really hurt my heart </3. They were probably my favourite couple of the show. I cried for Man ok! Especially during that scene where he was made fun of. I do respect Type. I think he was protective of his brother Tine when drawing those tape lines in the house lol and I think he made the decision to get in the car with his coworker instead of Man because he need his job and he has to have a good workplace/atmosphere.
Also what's with the girls? Especially Pear and Air. Why are they so cute? >.<– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"

72. Kimi ni wa Todokanai.
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
I can't bring myself to like Kimi ni wa Todokanai. I've read 4 volumes of the manga before. I liked the first 3, but the 4th one was so bad I dropped it. So going into watching the drama, I didn't have very high expectations. But I thought at least I might like the first few episodes, but no. They removed the main things I liked about it so now there's little to nothing to enjoy about this. On top of this, it's super awkward...
I've dropped this on ep 2 so I can't give a full review on it, but from what I saw it's even worse than the manga.

73. We Best Love: No. 1 For You
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
We've encountered another tsundere everyone!! Enjoyed the Japanese outbursts he had throughout the drama. I don't really get the hype but it's still a drama worth watching for sure. We'll see if I watch the 2nd season or not in the future.
I was reminded of the time when my friend confessed to me. She had started to avoid me and I didn't know why so I got mad because I really liked her as a friend. But then when I met her again months later she told me that she used to be in love with me. Maybe she understood that I didn't like her in that way and that was the reason as to why she started to avoid me. Because if it was another issue she could've told me back then. She doesn't talk to me anymore. I miss her sometimes. Hope she's happy and doing well.– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"

74. Utsukushii Kare
Japanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
I expected something more innocent with this one (I mean look at the intro). I'd feel extremely uncomfortable if I had someone worshipping me like that. That means that they would see me as superior to them, which happens in Utsukusii Kare. Being put in a position like that definitely feels gross, like Kiyoi keeps saying to him all the time. (Spoiler) Maybe if he had realised that they are both just equal human beings a bit earlier and not at the end of the last episode, I might've been more accepting of this drama. Because no matter how much I look up to celebrities that I like, I know that we're all just human beings.
So all in all, this drama made me feel uncomfortable.– Copy pasted from "Dramas – 2022 Completed"

76. Taikan Yoho
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes

77. Until We Meet Again
Thai Drama - 2019, 17 episodes
Not a fan of the acting.

78. Cherry Blossoms after Winter
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
It's too fake... they are too awkward. Why do I care so much about the clichés this time? Maybe because I have other BLs to compare it with? I'm just not into this one... It's too classic and too straight-from-the-manga style, similar to Light on Me, but worse.
Dropped!!

80. Takara-kun to Amagi-kun
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Why are the standards for BL this low?? It's so boring, plain and cringy. If this was a hetero romance drama the score would've dropped half at least. I can only see fujoshi liking this. Dropped at episode 3 so 3/10.

Thai Drama - 2016, 15 episodes
I disliked it. Tried watching this 4 years ago but stopped after 3 episodes. I suspect I stopped watching because of the same feeling that I got during the first few episodes this time too. The hazing (never heard that word before) or whatever made me so uncomfortable. When the first couple of episodes, if I was Kong, I'd cry, punch Arthit in the face once and then change major. I felt so uncomfortable I wanted to cry ok why are they so awful and scary. Power harassment gone overboard x10.
Kong is so cheeky compared to his role in He's Coming To Me. Kong's smooth and bold, yet cringy pickup lines... omg. But I found Kong a bit too full of himself during a few occasions. I definitely liked him more as Med (He's Coming To Me). Bright (Off) is best boy (missing Theory of Love ㅠㅠ). Can't see Gunsmile as a scary guy, I've seen him in too many dramas already lol. Wad and Prem is cute together but we didn't get to see them very much. Too bad May just disappeared after she got rejected. I wanted to see her and M's love story develop some more. Prae (Jan) is best girl (completely different from her character in Who Are You lol).– Copy pasted from "Dramas & Reality 2021 Completed"
