1. Mother
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
This was the first drama that left em so touched that I wanted to write a review about it on MDL (from the time I joined MDL). Also mentioned in articles such as Mothers, titles that made me sad and probably some more..
So people here is the review that started it all the first out of 400 and counting: https://mydramalist.com/profile/Shirioink/review/127879

3. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
This is sweet and spicy a drama mentioned in my articles about consent (a good example), Crossdressing ( hard to say) , hoodeis (amazing) articles that made me laugh and probably a bunch of others too... ) While some of the scenes have some meeh humour the main couple makes up for every single short coming this drama may have at least in my opinion.

4. One Spring Night
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
This is One great drama!!! Probably one I have written the most about...
While Jung Hae In sprinkels his charm over the screen and Han Ji Min lightens the mood with her humor this otherwise heavy and beautiful slow paced drama sheds a light on the difficulties of breaking loose from harmfull relationships while having to face societies prejudice as well as the importance of letting go and moving on. Oh and also shows some pretty good parenting advice.

5. Moon Embracing the Sun
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
When I watched this I felt like I did when I watched Boys over Flowers... It felt like the mother of all the Historicals I had seen so far, it had it all and I loved every moment of it.

6. Romance Is a Bonus Book
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
This is one of those feel-good dramas that feel like cozying up with a good book. One I have re-watched and written about a lot... Some will say it is a bit slow but well I do not care!

7. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
The ultimate fluff drama, the go to whenever you need to just watch something good, heart fluttering and fun. There is just enough drama to keek your attention but not enough to give the viewers angst. The friendships, the struggles the representation of transplants... are all top and would have been enough to make this a good drama. But the friends to lovers trope knocks this one out of this world...
-
8. Just Between Lovers
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
I love this one for the way it deals with survivors guilt, issues and organ transplants. The acting and chemistry is amazing... And yes I have mentioned this one too in a lot of articles, but clearly not enough as it has some pretty amazing representation and a lot of great scenes.

9. Something in the Rain
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
THE drama that made me fall in love with dramaland. Not for everyone as it is not always happy or fluffy for that matter. It is more of a real type of deal that makes you hate most of the characters at one point.... but it is still soo good.
-
10. While You Were Sleeping
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
Simply one of the best...
So good, so good, soo good... This drama may be about people sleeping, but is sure to keep you wide a wake and on your toes as you binge it... The first episodes are packed with humour as well as heart heartfluttering flirting, fun and twists of fate, twist of umbrellas, twists of the arm... Showing all from exploding busses (ok 1), to domestic abuse and hubby love. Watching glimpses of your future when you sleep may not only save your life but will also shorten the runway in to love... or make you run scared... heck why not both?

11. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
This is one of few drams I have chosen to re watch. I enjoyed it just as much the second time as it has a lot of great humour, chemistry. and even some depth here and there.
-
12. The Light in Your Eyes
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
This is a drama that has a lot to say, it is funny, deep and very emotional in a good way. I have mentioned it in several articles such as Nam Joo Hyucks fanguide, and the dramas that made me cry to mention a few... it is just one of those dramas that stays with you. Or at least me.
This is such an underrated masterpiece... I was not prepared for the biggest plot twist of all time in this drama, going from this light fluffy fun comedy to a painful depiction of how deep rooted the effect of this dark part of South Korea´s history had had this bright, fun, sweet youthful woman's life. Seeing how she must have been as a teen, to seeing her love story, followed by the disappearance of her husband when he was taken in by the police was just like a sharp knife right through the heart...

13. Private Lives
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
The perfect balance between romance and suspense and humour dare I say this is one of those underrated dramas
-
14. Start-Up
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This drama made me cry the first episode as it has one of Dramalands most powerful scenes, It also has a good message and is one of those dramas I have not written a review for but mentioned in my article about consent, tears. friendship, and NJH fan guide I may also have mentioned it in more articles.. it is just that good.

15. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
A touching drama criticizing society in the most beautiful way
An emotional ride with every singel emotion known ... This drama combines important issues while celebrating peoples life and showing both respect and nuance to peoples death. Every episode has a message and while some kick you making you want to fight back, some will give you hope and others are just sad and that is okay too.

Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Touching, sweet, funny and really important drama that I find myself writing about in several of my editorials be it about scenes that mad me laugh, Park Min Youngs Fanguide or Marriage this dram ahas me reminiscing about it over and over again.

17. Youth of May
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
A bit like walking on a thin line over a valley that gets deeper and deeper for every episode.... Keeping your emotions constantly ready to fall... and even though you know someone is going to die you neither know when, how and though you may have a clue you do not know who it was (or they were) that died.

18. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
highly entertaining drama that I personally watched in my watch everything Lee Jong Suk phase pre MDL. In our Fanguide we wrote: This drama really has it all and is sure to keep you on your toes and make your heart flutter. If you haven’t yet explored the world of W, let us tempt you to make the journey.

19. Someday or One Day
Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 13 episodes
-
20. Sungkyunkwan Scandal
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
Good historical gender bender.
I wrote this about it in my article about crossdressing in K-dramas.
Park Min Young plays a woman who is the daughter of a dead scholar. The father's knowledge made it possible for her as a girl to learn how to read and write at a young age. Now living with her sick brother and mother she is forced to take on her brother's identity to be able to support her family. If this is not criticism towards the struggles of women and the poor I do not know what is. This drama also has the occasional I’m in love with a boy am I gay twist to it, making me feel a bit uneasy. While I am a firm believer in sexuality as a spectrum it would be ignorant of me to think that the idea of a man questioning his sexuality during the Joseon era would be all smooth (actually, I have no clue on how heteronormative Joseon society was). Besides the cross-dressing woman, this drama also shows very different ways to be a man seeing the men in this drama have both warm feminine traits embodied in Song Joong Ki's character Goo Yong Ha, and a bit wilder embodied Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In) and a lovely smart cold and rational way of being a man in Lee Sun Joon (Park Yoo Chun). This drama is not only filled with great actors it is definitely packed with both humor and scenes that make you think about struggles of the past as well as society, a must-watch on my list, just writing this makes me want to watch it again.

21. Navillera
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
When a man announces he is going to do ballet his family's response is similar to that of the five stages of grief
Sad, funny and absolutely beautiful. This drama is a bit like the last walk on a gorgeous beach att sunset with the dog you love but have to put to sleep... Its a walk you will remember, the scenery is breathtaking, the waves will tickle you and make you laugh, the dog will look at you with its sweet innocent ayes reminding you of the joy and laughter you have sheered all while you are constantly aware of the end a head. While eating Ice cream (one each, since its the dogs last meal) some bird will scare you and make you angry... but you will also feel comforted by the dog, the taste of the ice cream, the last warming sunbeam and the sound of those amazing waves... or something like that... what I am trying to say is that this is a drama that will simply make you feel allot of emotions while beautifully portraying some of the worlds most important and relatable issues.

22. True Beauty
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
I do not remember why I rated it this highly, but I do remember loving both the first and second couple, not getting SLS and feeling touched by the friendships shown. It is probably packed with cliches and nothing revolutionary but for the cliche lovers out there this is a really good watch.

28. Snowdrop
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Jung Hae In, controversy, suspense and the constant feeling of can people really be that evil... and well yes... it started a bit Disney which felt all off, but once the suspance took over the Disney part got a new context which made it good..

31. 1 Litre no Namida
Japanese Drama - 2005, 11 episodes
Probably the most fitting title for a drama ever
This drama is one of the dramas that made me cry the most tears, making me understand why so many still mention it whenever people ask for tear-jerkers. The drama i s touching, most of the characters are lovable and if not always lovable they are most definitely relatable or just realistic showing a whole spectrum of ways to act around people with disabilities. It is touching it is sweet, it is frustrating and it is the type of drama that will make you both cry and get pissed off at the world.
