Kim Sung Il is a South Korean actor. He graduated from Dankook University with a bachelor's degree in Theater and Film and made his debut in 1981 as part of the 13th open recruitment for talent at MBC. In 1995, he decided to quit the entertainment industry and moved to the United States to study and work.

After several years there, he returned to South Korea and became a businessman but was occasionally invited to appear in talk shows or interviews, which he accepted. In 2020, he decided to retake his acting career and obtained a role in the SBS drama "Mom Has An Affair".
