Jay Kim
- Name: Jay Kim
- Native name: 제이김
- Given name: Kim Young Deok
- Also Known as: Typhoon, 김견우, 김영덕, Kim Yeong Deok, Kim Gyeon U
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: April 8, 1983
- Age: 43
He made his debut in July 2004 (using the stage name Typhoon) as THE TRAX's leader and vocalist with their first single, "Paradox". He was heavily involved in writing the songs and, alongside bandmate Kim Jung Mo, co-wrote all of the tracks in the extended play "Cold-Hearted Man" in 2010.
He made his acting debut in 2009 with a small role in the MBC drama "Romance Zero", and the following year, he also made his debut in musical theater with a role in "Brothers Were Brave".
In November 2010, he joined the project group S.M. THE BALLAD, consisting of various artists under SM Entertainment. They debuted in November of that year with their first mini-album, "S.M. The Ballad Vol.1 – Miss You". The group reunited in 2014 with different artists, but he was the only member from the original lineup who remained.
In 2012, the 4 band members were supposed to enlist together in the military, but Kim Jung Mo suffered from scoliosis and a broken collarbone, thus delaying his enlistment and putting the band on hiatus. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on March 26, 2012, and was discharged two years later in March 2014.
The band returned in 2018, but SM decided to transform the group's concept from a rock band to an EDM band, and it was renamed as TRAXX.
In July 2024, the band re-labeled as TRAX and released the new single "To Be Continued" to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
He is now working as a vocal coach for HYBE and SM and is the training director of Keens Academy.
