Wang Kai, born Wang Chien Lung (王建隆) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a Taiwanese actor. He initially debuted under his birth name before adopting the stage name Wang Kai in 2011. He graduated from Nan Chiang Industrial & Commercial Senior High School (南強工商) and is affiliated with Asia Entertainment Agency (亞樂演藝經紀公司) and Phoenix Talent (鳳凰藝能).

At 17, Wang moved to Taipei alone to pursue job opportunities. He was discovered by a manager who sent him to Singapore for six months of singer training. After returning to Taiwan, he worked as a document courier while awaiting his debut. By chance, he met the executive producer of Lavender (薰衣草), who cast him in a leading role, marking his official debut.

Wang later spent four months in mainland China to advance his career but returned to Taiwan due to limited opportunities. As acting roles declined, he briefly left the entertainment industry, running a bar in Beijing and later working as a public relations manager at a Taipei nightclub backed by Jeffrey Huang (黃立成).
