In 2008 Chaeyeon debuted as a child actress in the movie Scandal Makers. On November 27, 2017, she debuted as a member of the girl group Busters. On August 6, 2020, Marbling announced that Chaeyeon would be leaving the group, finishing group activities before focusing on acting and other broadcasting activities in the near future.
On July 21, 2021, she signed an exclusive contract was signed with YK Media Plus. On May 23, 2022, the agency was deleted from her Naver profile, confirming the departure.
On June 22, 2022, Chaeyeon was introduced as the fourth member of tripleS.
