Shara Lin is a Taiwanese singer, actress, and musician born in Tainan, Taiwan. She graduated from the National Tainan Girls' Senior High School and later earned a degree in music from National Taiwan Normal University.

Lin began her career as the host of the travel program "Taiwan Jiao Guo Da Lu." She made her film debut in "Summer Concerto" in 2009 and her television debut in the CTS series "Monga Yaohui" in 2011. In August 2012, she released her first album, "Zuo Dui," under Hoshin Music.

Her parents are Lin Chun Ming, a neurologist who runs a clinic in Tainan, and a biology teacher. While in school, she served as a violinist in the Tainan Chimei Orchestra from 2003 to 2006.

In June 2017, Lin suffered a serious injury while filming a local drama, fracturing her pelvis and experiencing temporary loss of sensation in her lower body. She has since been recuperating.

On April 25, 2021, Lin announced her engagement to her boyfriend, Tony, a technology industry worker, with whom she had been dating for seven years. They registered their marriage on July 24, 2022.
