He started dancing at the age of 19. and formed his first dance crew with Kenchi (future Exile groupmate) called Poly-3.
In 2006 became a member of RAG POUND, a LDH affiliated krump dance crew. In 2007 became an official member of Nidaime J Soul Brothers. When Nidaime ceased activities in 2009 Tetsuya became a member of Exile. In 2012 five former members of Nidaime including Tetsuya created a sub-unit of Exile called Exile The Second.
In 2013 he became certified coffee master, then launched his own coffee shop "Amazing Coffee" and eventually became the director of LDH Kitchen.
In 2014 he was appointed as a visiting professor at the Department of Humanities and Literature, Shukutoku University, and as a visiting associate professor at Misaki University in 2016 . In April 2017, he entered a one-year master's program at Waseda University Graduate School of Sports Science. His master's thesis received an excellent dissertation award .
In January 2016, he underwent surgery for a left shoulder joint dislocation, and after several months he was restricted from activity. In May 2019, he underwent surgery for bilateral patellar subluxation syndrome and had to restrict his activities.
Tetsuya is also an instructor in EXPG, LDH's dance school and occasionally appears in stage plays, dramas and movies.
On March 5, 2019, it was announced that Tetsuya submitted a marriage notification to a 37-year-old non-celebrity woman after 3 years of dating. On August 20, 2019, Tetsuya revealed at the press conference for MACHI cafe's Amazing Ice Caramel Latte that his first child was born healthy and safely. Edit Biography
