Matsuyama entered the entertainment industry in 2007 after being scouted on her way home from junior high school club activities. She made her debut as an actress in the online drama "TSC Tokyo Girl" in September of the same year. After that, he appeared in many TV dramas such as TBS "Hammer Session!" And TV Asahi "Asuko March". In 2013, she won the Outstanding Action Actress Award at the Japan Action Awards 2014 for her performance in the movie "Garo Gaiden Momogen no Fuseki".
Since 2009, she has been active as a member of "bump.y", a unit formed by actresses belonging to the same office, Sweet Power, such as Sakuraba Nanami and Takatsuki Sara, and she served as the group leader until they all graduated at the end of June 2014.
After graduating, she regularly appears in programs such as "Sumomo Momo! Peach CAFE" (Yomiuri TV) and "Minna no News News Runner" (Kantele) in her hometown of the Kansai region, and also as an actress "Masshiro" (2015, TBS). She has challenged a wide range of roles in the "Garo" series and "Zero: Dragon Blood-" (2017, TV Tokyo).
Matsuyama Mary is a trained rhythmic gymnast, twice participated in national competitions. Her other skillset is a ballet which she has 8 years of lesson experience.
