William Wu was born in Hong Kong in 1937. Composer, music educator. Member of the Chinese Musicians Association, Member of the Chinese Filmmakers Association, Special Member of the Chinese Film and Music Society, Member of the Hong Kong Composers and Composers Association (CASH), Member of the Hong Kong String Teachers 拹 Association, Member of the Hong Kong Artists Union, Member of the Hong Kong Film and Drama Association. In 1958 began to write and publish music works, of which "rural tunes" (violin solo, piano accompaniment) were selected as teaching materials of the National Conservatory of Music. Graduated with honors from Beijing Art Normal College in 1960. He taught at Beijing Art Institute from 1960 to 1986; China Conservatory of Music; Beijing Film Academy. In the teaching at the same time carried out a large number of creative performance activities. Since 1974, he has composed soundtracks for films such as "Road", "Sinking", "Garden Street 5", "Ming Girl" and "Woman's Shop". He worked for Hong Kong Television and Broadcasting Limited until 1993. He won the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Original Score for The Lovers (1994).
